My iPod Touch just plays same song over and over.

When I play music by selecting an album, playlist, et cetera, it just plays the same song over and over.  I also just install the latest version of software (29 Oct 11).

Do you have repeat turned on? Below the scrubber bar on the left side is the repeat icon/contro,.  It is the racetrack icon.  If the icon is shated with a 1 then it is set to repear the one song. Tap the icon to change.

  • IPod touch 4G plays same songs as before while on shuffle

My iPod will play a set of songs in shuffle and if I pause it thn come back to it a few hours later it won't play the song I left off on. It starts to play the same songs in the same order I heard them in earlier. I play the songs on shuffle from about 600 songs. It's not a playlist nothing it wrong. It just comes back to songs it already played.
For example in the morning I hear track 1,2,3,3,5,6,7,8 & 9
Them I pause it. When I come back in the afternoon it'll start playing track 3,4,5,6 ... And so on

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

  • IPod Nano - Shuffle plays same songs over and over

I have several playlists on my iPod Nano with varying numbers of songs.  But it seems that every time I use my iPod, no matter which playlist I'm using, I get some songs over and over.  I'll hear the same couple songs multiple times in a day/week.   I turn it off when we aren't using it.  So it seems like it's resetting the shuffle every time I turn it on.  Is there some setting I need to change to make it shuffle the songs more?  I don't remember having this problem with my iPod Shuffle.   I'm considering making multiple playlists (like a several workout ones with different songs in each so I get more variety) but wondering if there's a simpler fix
    Thanks

That is probably the Repeat setting.  It can be set to repeat ONE (repeats current song), ALL (repeats current list), or OFF (does not repeat).
Which iPod nano model do you have?  Does it have a touch screen interface, or the (older) click wheel interface?

  • Ipod touch stuck with same song display

My ipod touch 4g (2 months old) is stuck with the same song display...the 'back' button to return to the list of albums is not working...if i press the next song arrow key the song is changing but the display is not changing....and even if i delete the song in the i tunes and sync the itouch...the display is still stuck with same song...please help me out on this

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

  • I have 2 ipod touch with the same apple id and password. Can I change the id and password on just one of them?

I bought a second ipod touch 4g for my daughter for Christmas  amonth ago. I wanted to be sure it was Ok so
I "tested" it by signing up with the same Apple ID and password as MY touch. I assumed it would not be a major
problem to "clear" it so my daughter could set it up with her own account (Apple ID/email and password). I am
unsure HOW to do this. I have read several articles but none seem to be very clear. I do not want to cause any
"damage" to MY touch such as messing up my apps and itunes library. Any advice?

Yes, you stop using the same Apple ID under Settings > iCloud.

  • IPod touch just shows picture of USB and iTunes logo with CD, won't turn on

I can't get my iPod touch to turn on to the home page. All it does when I turn it on is I get the apple symbol for a sec and then it shows this picture of a USB cord and iTunes logo with a CD. I've tried pushing the home button and power button down together and that didn't work. And I uninstalled all iTunes stuff and reinstalled it and still nothing. Help me!

I had to disable my wireless to get my IPOD to be recognized by ITUNES. it got stuck in that same screen you describe. another thing you can try is connecting it to another pc that has itunes and then connect it back to the original pc. you will just have to overwrite the library when you connect it back to the original.

  • Is there a way to get an iPod touch to play one audio track and stop.

Is there a way to get an iPad to play one audio track and stop.
I work in education and particularly music. Teachers are looking to create a playlist of selected track but only want the selected track to play then stop.
This allows them to talk to the class during presentation and not worry about having to stop playback mid discussion.
I've been successful doing this from appleTVs homeshared to a library by unchecking songs in the playlist. But It would be useful to instructors who have there own media on their device.

Thanks for a cognative answer TXMark.
For what its worth to any readers that work in education and would like this play once and stop 'feature'
I had great success in homeshareing a iTunes library of teaching material and creating topic specific playlist and used apple remote app to control an appletv connected to that homeshared library. As TXMark suggests, uncheck the songs in iTunes and the media will not automatically play the tracks in sequence.
note: if you have video media that you would like to have in the playlist, be sure its listed as a music video in the options of get info of track. otherwise the apple tv will not see the media in the playlist and will put it in the movies section of the library.

  • I can only get my Ipod touch to play 14 songs of the 297 I have on I tunes.

I got an I pod touch recently and I downloaded the songs I have in I tune to my new device. All 297 songs appear on my Ipod, but I can only seem to get the same 14 songs to play.  I have no idea why these 14 songs play and not any others as the songs that do play seem totally random.

Assuming they play in iTunes on the coputer:

  • Ipod touch always shuffles the songs

Why does my ipod touch never play the songs( whether in albums, artist,s songs or playlist mode) in sequence. It wants to shuffle all the time . I do not enable the shuffle mode. Is there a default shuffle position that I am unaware of?
It is most annoying. Please, can someone help?
    thanks, nhoj60

While playing music, tap the artwork, the scrubber bar and shuffle and repeat icon will show. Tap the shuffle icon until it is white = off.
You can see this in the manual.
    Hopefully this helps.

  • My ipod touch will only play the same song over and over unless you manually fast forward?

My ipod touch will not shuffle through the songs. It just plays the same song over and over.  All that shows at the top is the info picture.  How do I fix this?

    Do this:
    Play a song.
Tap the screen once so you see the scrubber.
To the left of the scrubber, there's a set of two arrows going in a circle - if it's blue, it's set to repeat.
Click on it once to make it white - no repeat.
