  • Ipod touch 4g wont start - Black Screen

I bought an Ipod touch about 2 weeks ago. I never dropped it and water never fell in it. It HAD iOS 4.3.5 (had because I can't turn it on). When I try to turn it on, it won't start. Apple logo doesn't show, it only shows a black screen. When I connect it to the computer (Itunes) it doesn't recognize it. I don't know what happened. I have tried Re-charging it, but nothing happens. I've also tried to put it on DFU mode but it doesn't even shows the screen.
What can it be? Does the warranty covers this?
If you need more information about this tell me.

If you just got it, contact Apple and get it serviced.

  • Ipod touch 4 wont sync or charge

Please help!!!! My ipod touch 4 gen is 1 year and 2 months old. When i connect it to the wall charger the charging icon will not apper. If i plug it into the computer it says that its an unknown device and needs a driver, it will not sync or charge. If i shut it off and plug it in it will turn on (usaully that means its charging) but then the icon wont apper.I've tryed it on different computers and bought a new cord and it didnt work. Then i put it in DFU mode and that didnt work. So then i erased everything because i know that worked before and that didnt work either. So then i uninstalled and reinstalled itunes which didnt work either. Then i tryed a different charger and then that didnt work.My friend plugged his ipod touch 4 gen into my computer with the same cord i was using and his worked perfectly fine. Like i said my ipod is over a year old and i cannot afford to get it fixed nor go to the apple store because its an hour away. Im not going there just to be told theres nothing they can do and i have to pay for some nonsense. If anyone can help i would deeply apperciate it!
PS im using windows one is xp and one is windows 7

Based on the troubleshooting you performed, it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My iPod touch won't start up/charge/sync

on what i think is the ipod touch 3rd gen (if that helps) when i plug it into my laptop the black screen with the apple sign comes up as if it were to start up as normal, however it just stays on that same screen for as long as it's plugged in, it then says it has no power, also it my itunes also doesnt 'see' my ipod, HELP?

To get iTunes to see the iPod try:
    - A reset.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Place the iPod in recovery mode.  For recovery mode:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
    - Try DFU mode

  • My ipod touch 5 wont start

    My ipod touch wont start

If not successful try the remaining items of:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod touch not turning on or charging! HELP PLEASE!

I have an ipod touch and when I go to turn it on it gives me the dead battery sign and the sign to charge it. When I plug it in to charge, it gives the dead battery with the lightening bolt. It then goes to turn on with the little apple and then stays like that and then blacks out and does it again. I dont know what the problem could be and what to do. Any ideas? Suggestions? Or answers? Thank you.

  • My ipod touch is not working at all pls HELP, my ipod touch is not working at all pls HELP

My iPod touch is not working at all,i did everything i could and still it doesnt work,i live in the philippines my idea of solving this problem is to send it back at Apple California we do have service centre here but i dont trust them,i dont know what to do,I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP

Quite possibly.  It wouldn't hurt to try another one if at all possible. If you have to, borrow one from a friend.  It could also be due to debris in the docking port of your iPod.  Take a look on the inside of the port and make sure there is no lint or anything like that.  Also look for broken pins as they would definitely cause connection issues as well.

  • Ipod touch won't start or charge in computer, but displays plug into itunes window when plugged into wall charger

so my ipod hasnt turned on in weeks. when i plug it into my wall charger, i get the connect to itunes screen. but if i disconnect it my screen just wipes and turns off. if i plug it into computer i get nothing on the ipod or on the computer that addresses that something has been connected.. This is really frustrating me since i use my ipod for alot of school work. this ipod isn't jailbroken but just seemingly bricked for no reason.

Sounds like a bad battery. How long did you let it charge?

  • New iPod Touch 5th generation won't charge. Help? It's brand new, I got it for Christmas in 2012. Please help! I've tried diffferent cords, outlets, and computers. I plug it in, iTunes recognizes the device, but it still won't charge.

Please help. It started about a week ago, it was charging fine the day before and then I plugged it in and it didn't charge. Occasionally it would begin to charge, but sometimes not. I've tried different cords, USB ports, wall chargers, and computers but it would barely work. Now, it refuses to charge at all. If it dies, and I won't be able to use it anymore, I won't be able to get a new one. Please help me!

It's still under its original factory warranty, so unless you've damaged it in some way, it should be covered.
First, try giving it a reset. Hold down the sleep and home keys, past when you see the red power down slider and until you see the silver apple. Let it reboot and see if that helps.
if not, contact your local apple store and make an appointment and let them check it out.

My sisters ipod5 connects just fine and they're right beside each other. i already tried resetting the network settings, nothing has worked.

Does the iPod connect to other networks?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
