CAN SOMEONE HELP UNSTAND WHY MY IPOD TOUCH KEEP GETTING HOT WHEN IT'S ON OR CHARGING?

    - As I said in my response to yur other post, the iPod can get quit warm during use. It can also get warm during charging.
    - You can try the following to rule out a software problem:
    - Reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If you are concered make an appointmenbt at the Genius Bar of and Apple store

  • Can not update or restore my ipod touch, keep getting the error message 13019

can not update or restore my ipod touch, keep getting the error message 13019

    Start here:
    iTunes: Error 13019 during sync

  • My ipod touch keeps getting restarted. Be it while playing games or listening to music. Whats the problem here?

My ipod touch keeps getting restarted. Be it while playing games or listening to music or browsing thru the app store. Whats the problem here?

Oh, you do one thing, back up your iPod to iTunes. Plug your iPod to the iTunes and when it appears under devices tree on the sidebar, right click on it, and back it up.
After the backup completes, jus click on restore button. If required it will download the latest iOS from the servers (Might take sometime) and after it's downloaded, it will erase all your data and settings, restoring to factory settings.
After you have completed restoring the iPod, jus set it up as new iPod.
Sync back all the apps, music, movies.
And make sure you quit the apps, by double clicking the home button and pressing and holding the app icons and clicking on
This should help your problem anyhow!
It might be a case that the files in the apps, or the preferences might be corrupted, jus to be safe, we have a backup.

That's a hardware problem.  Only Apple can help you.

  • Why is my ipod touch 4g get hot while using it?

    Hello,
I bought my ipod touch 4g about a year and half ago and in the last month my ipod is getting hot in the top near the camera.
Why is it get so hot?
what can I do with this?
    Thank you !

iPods, and any electrical equipment, produce heat when used, it's simply something that happens.
If it is getting too hot to hold or seems to start burning, take it to an apple store near you and have it looked in the Genius bar, nearly all appel stores have one. If your's doesn't, just ask a member of staff.
Maybe try backing up then restoring your iPod, see if that helps. if it does help, restore it from the backup you made before restoring.
    Hope this helped!
    Good luck!

  • Ipod Touch Camera getting hot

I got my Ipod touch last Christmas and just recently I noticed that when I'm using it the screen gets a little warm (nothing unusual) but the top part where the camera is gets really hot. So hot that you can't keep your finger on there for very long before it starts to hurt. I was just wondering if I should do anything about it.
    Thanks,
    Ethan

If you are concerned, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.  It is very hard to quantify how warm is too hot over the internet.

  • Can't sync to my ipod touch - keep getting error code 13019 (Windows 7)?

can't sync songs (or anything else) from my itunes library to my ipod touch. I keep getting an error message - 13019. Have gone back to sync options under devices but nothing seem to help. Although it appears to be an itune error message I think it has something to do with Windows7. The problem just started so I went back two months on a restore but it didn't help. At a loss.

Previously I read of someone who could not fill the last 70 mb of their ipod, and were worried about that.
The replies to that seemed eminently sensible in suggesting that the ipod needs certain amounts of free space in order to allow things like web pages and emails to be downloaded should a person use those functions. Because of this it was unlikely to accept applications and tunes to fill up the full amount of reported memory. Also the people who posted (who seemed to know what they were talking about), seemed to think that a bit of free space was a good thing
I would suggest that you might need to delete more, and release more free space before this app will sync, and perhaps might be better to free up a decent chunk to let the ipod function as well as it can

Trying to restore / update ipod 3rd generation - keep getting error message - The ipod touch could not be restores. An unknown error occurred (-1).

    Error 1 or -1
This may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow Troubleshooting security software issues, and restore your device on a different known-good computer. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
The "device may need service" means a hardware problem. in that case make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store.

  • Trying to restore 8 gig iPod Touch, keep getting error 1621

i recently updated my ipod touch 8 gig to the latest software (4, I believe). however, it caused my ipod to crash and i lost my backup. i decided to restore to factory settings. however, now when i plug my ipod touch into itunes, it starts the restore process and gets through the extracting software part, but then gives me an error message: "the ipod software update server could not be contacted. an unknown error occurred (1621)." this keeps happening. i tried connecting through wireless and through ethernet, but i keep getting the same message. i have a connection, and am able to access the itunes store, but can't restore my ipod. right now all i have is the silver apple logo w/ the status bar as if it's starting, but that's it.
has anyone encountered this problem and if so, any advice/help they can offer?
    thanks.

my post will offer little help, i know, but i thought i'd put it out there. restoring my itouch on my pc was not working after many attempts and much online researching. ultimately, i took it back to the apple store and they restored it there. when i brought it home, my problems were not solved-- i simply inherited a new set of them. i have yet to try the restore on my macbook, but i think i'll hold off on the upgrade for as long as i can. doesnt sound like a good deal.

  • Ipod touch 4 gets hot while using some apps like angry birds?

Is it normal for the upper back of the ipod touch 4 to get hot while using some apps like angry birds? Is this a potential battery problem? It doesnt get hot while charging or playing songs... Just when using some game apps.  I assume that it has something to do with battery drain, should I be concerned?

When the iPod is used heavily like for games it is norma for the iPod to get warm.  Unless you hav short battery life I would not be concerned.

  • My iPod Touch keeps freezing! WHY?!

I have the 8GB, 4th Generation iPod Touch with software version 4.2.1. It's about two years old and has recently begun to freeze (no colored pages, just frozen on whatever screen it was on when it froze). It happens when I am playing and exploring my music the most and has even done it for no reason. The only way to pass it is to do a force quit by holding down the power and home buttons.
I have been to the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store and he reset my iPod back to it's factory settings and I left with a blank iPod and the hope that the problem had been solved. Alas, it had not. I got home, synced it to my library and behold, here we are again.
I don't play games or use apps that (literally, the only app I have is Facebook). I have a huge iTunes library, but I haven't filled my iPod to the max, so there's lots of storage space. So it can't be an app or storage issue. I do have it connected to my personal home wireless internet, but that has never ever given me problems, so I don't think that's an issue either.
I have gone through my entire iTunes library and found no corrupt files and everything is up to date (both iTunes and iPod software). I have even re-downloaded iTunes. I understand that I now have an outdated iPod since the 5th Generation is out and because of that, 4.2.1 is as far as 4th Generation users will get. Apple has stopped releasing updates for the 4th Generation iPods, so updates will now bypass 4th Generation users. Fine. I've had version 4.2.1 for well over a month now and it only recently began freezing and giving me issues.
All I want to do is browse and listen to my music without it freezing as that is all I use my iPod for.
I plan on revisiting the Genius Bar for another appointment in the very near future.
I am willing to try anything (as long as it won't harm my iPod). I do however refuse to buy a replacement since the 5th Generation is out and 4th Generation updates have been abandoned. So if it comes down to buying another one, it's going to be the newest one.
Is there anything else I can do?
    HELP!
    -Brandon

Correction: I have a 2nd Generation iPod Touch, not a 4th Gen. My mistake.
I have deleted a ton of stuff already. The only stuff left is music, that's pretty much it.
As far as restoring it goes, I have done that. The problem still seems to remain.
Any more ideas or suggestions would GREATLY be appreciated.
    Thanks

  • Ipod touch keeps getting apple symbol then switches off.

I wonder if any one can help me I have a 32gb ipod touch, I have had it about 1 1/2 years so it is out of garantee now. IT was working fine until a few days ago when it started to behave strangley. I was checking my emails when the screen went. it then went to the apple logo screen and switched off. If I plugged in to computer the computer would recognise it and it would start working again. It was happening about once a day. Today it has got a lot worse. It keeps going to the apple logo screen frequently, some times it is switching off other times the screen goes gray and then white and stays stuck on a white screen and flickers. IF I do the reset by holding both buttons and conect to computer the computer recognises it and it starts working again and I can use the ipod touch but only for about 10 minutes then it does this again. I have tried updating the software version on my ipod touch today and it updated successfully but has made no difference to the problem. What is causing this problem and what can I do to fix it.

it is showing that the battery is fully charged. But may be its the battery going. It works fine when plugged in and it works for a bit when not plugged in then it does this strange behaviour. Of going to the apple icon screen and switching off. Now it just switches on/off on/off continually. When I plug it back in to computer it seems to sort its self out and starts working again. and will work for a bit unplugged before. starting the same strange behavior again. Does any have any other advice or sugestions as to what might be be the problem and how to fix it
    thanks
