My ipod touch keeps showing the connect to itunes logo
Hi there,
Just got my new ipod touch 5th gen. All worked fine, then it wanted to update ios. Now it only shows the usb cable with the itunes logo above it. Can't clear this screen.

Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network. -
Hi, I've reset my 2nd generation ipod touch. However,the connect to itunes graphic appears on the screen but when I attach to my powerbook it doesn't show up either in itunes or finder. I can't be the first to have experienced this problem. please could someone advise me.
What iOS do you have on the iPod?
Did it every connect to your computer with that iOS?
The latest iOD for the 2G is 4.2.1 and that required a Mac with 10.5.8 or later.

I updated my ipod but it failed....
Now my Ipod touch is showing a connect to itunes image. When I connected it to itunes it said that I need to "Restore it". But I have video on it that I really, really need. How do I do this without loosing all of my footage and photos?
Please help!?You do not. You have to restore the iPod. You can then restoe from backup and get to where you were when the the last backups was made.

iPhone 3GS got drop and bonce once or twice... then it froze ... won't turn off or on... just started showing "connect to iTunes" logo... tried this but hasitant to for change to computer when ask... Assuming the phone is not brand new, a couple possible causes of this are:
The phone could be in Recovery Mode. If this is the case, just power the phone off and back on.
The phone could have been locked with a passcode, and the wrong code was entered too many times. If this is the case, the only way you can back it up before doing a restore is by using a computer it's been previously synced with or backed up to. -

ever since i updated my ipod touch with ios 5 it will work fine for a day or 2 and then all of a sudden it will restart and show me the ios 5 setup screen and either want to restore from a back up or start new... i do not always have a computer to use and this is really getting me mad.

I purchased a 16gb ipod touch 1 gen and it wont restore or show the battery chaging icon. It shows the symbol of usb cable and what appears to be an itunes symbol without the itunes words being displayed. Upon trying to restore I have gotten error codes 1603 & 1604. I referred to the apple website for assistance and followed the steps to the letter with no results. So what else should I try or could I try because I have has no such luch thus far? I have held the home button and power button I tried to enter DFU mode but unsuccessful due to the screen boots with apple logo then immediately goes to the itunes screen and no further only when connected. Will not power on without usb connection have charged battery to see if it was the issue and no battery bar locator displays with or without being connected to PC.
So you did all this:
Error 1603: If you receive this error and the iOS device is not automatically placed into recovery mode, it may be necessary to do so manually. Refer to iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore for steps on placing iPhone into forced recovery mode. Also, remove the IPSW and attempt to restore again. If you do not want to remove the IPSW in the original user, try restoring in a new administrator user.
Error 1604: This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling USB ports, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections, device not recognized properly, computer won't recognize a FireWire or USB device). If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode,put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for error 1604.
When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while iPhone remains connected.
iPhone should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.

Ipod touch won't sync... has the 'connect to itunes' logo on ipod???
was prompted to install the new 4.1 for my ipod touch but the ipod has frozen on the 'connect to itunes' logo. have tried the on/off method, re-installing itunes and the control panel, administrative tools section and still won't work. have gone through the diagnostic section and comes up 'NO URL found'.... help!!! been on this all day!

What do i do if my ipod isn't recognized by my computer and is stuck on the connect to itunes logo?
So the ipod is stuck on the connect to itunes logo and when i plug it in it says device not recognized. I don't know what is wrong with it or what to do I tried everything and nothing works. Im so lost I don't know what to do at this point can anyone help. I would greatly appreciate it thanks.
