My ipod touch no longer syncs

my ipod touch no longer syncs with itune.

What happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?
Do you have the right boxes checked to sync?

  • IPod Touch No Longer Syncs After Upgrade to 10.8.3

I recently upgraded my computer from OSX 10.5 to 10.8.3. But while my iPad seems to sync fine, my iPod touch no longer syncs and it is not recognized by the Apple store. Please help!

When I plug in my ipod, a message pops up that says:
"This computer is no longer authorized to play purchased items that are on the iPod (my ipod name). Would you like to authorize this computer for items purchased from the iTunes Store?
         >If you do not authorize this computer, 191 songs will be removed from the iPod"
    I click "authorize"
Enter my apple ID (note that for some reason it keeps bringing up an apple id from 2006, even though the computer and ipod are from 2011 and 2010.)
Then it says "this computer is already authorized"
And every time I plug it in, the same thing happens.
    Sorry I wasn't clear before.

My IPod Touch no longer syncs with my outlook 10 calendar.  This seems to have happened after an ITunes update.  Is there a fix?

  • IPod Touch no longer syncing with iTunes?

    Mac OS X v10.4.11
    - all software up to date
    - iTunes 9.2.1 (5); no later updates available on this machine
    iPod Touch v3.1.3
This iPod Touch used to sync to iTunes just fine and dandy. Now it won't. I'm seeing that *now* in order to sync I have to upgrade (i.e. get a new mac) to v10.5?
    What gives?
Both used to sync fine and now they don't. Did Apple pull a fast one on me?

But my point is that one day it worked fine, and now it doesn't. Why would it stop working, if it once was supported? Did Apple push an update to my iPod which made it not supported by my machine? If so, that's pretty low.
If I buy a device and it works fine with my mac, it should stay working fine with my mac.

  • IPod Touch no longer syncs wirelessly with iTunes

My 4th gen iPod Touch (IOS 5.1) has been syncing wirelessly with iTunes on my Mac for months without a problem.
Suddenly, the iPod no longer appears in the "Devices" area of iTunes, as it always has.
"Sync using wireless" is enabled in iTunes
iPod Touch is still connected to my wireless network, and has connectivity
Macbook is connected to my wireless network, and has connectivity (Macbook unibody OS X 10.7.3)
iPod Touch is plugged into an external Apple charger.
If I connect the iPod Touch to the Macbook, then disconnect the cable, the iPod immediately disappears from the "Devices" listing.
In the past it has always remained listed as a Device there.
I am now unable to sync wirelessly. Ideas?

    - Try resetting the iPod, nothing is lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - And rebooting the computer

  • Why is my Ipod touch no longer syncing?

Just the other day, My Ipod Touch (4th Gen) was working- and syncing perfectly.
However, last night, the syncing seems to be not functioning after it gets to step 2 of 5 in the sync process. A message reads
that the disk cannot be found, or something along those lines.
I am using a Windows 7 computer and programming if this is of any assistance.

    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar.  Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears.

  • Ipod Touch No Longer Syncs, Wants To Force A Restore

I have a 64 GB ipod touch I purchased last year, and updated it to iOS 4 when it came out and have had no issues with it until this morning. When I plugged it in to my computer to sync, it simply brought up a screen allowing me to either restore as a new ipod or restore from a backup, and no apparent way to cancel.
The ipod does back up every time I connect, but I worry about what I will lose. While I have my music and video backed up, will I lose game data such as that from Imob and OG?
Basically, I'm not sure why I'm being forced to reset, and if I have to, I'm wondering if I will lose game data, or other app data. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well, I went ahead and restored it from a backup tonight, and I lost absolutely nothing. It took about an hour, but everything is back to normal.

  • Ipod Touch no longer syncing/backing up automatically

I recently had to get my laptop "cleaned" due to a nasty virus, I had to reinstall Itunes but when I plug in my ipod nothing happens, itunes no longer syncs or backs up automatically, although it does recognise my ipod and everything is just the same as it was. I have to manually sync and back up. I have checked the settings and the box preventing automatic back up is not ticked.

    I would try:
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • IPod touch no longer synching playlists

    Hi,
A couple of days ago, my iPod Touch no longer syncs playlists. I have a couple of playlists with a few hundred songs. The playlist shows up on the iPod in the playlist menu, but if you go into the playlist, it only shows 2 or 3 songs. But if you go under songs, all the songs are there.
Steps I've taken to fix this:
    1. Reset iPod. No change.
    2. Deleted and created a bunch of entirely new playlists, error still occurs.
    3. Restored iPod to factory settings. No change.
    4. Uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled. No change.
Has anyone seen this before? It's very annoying. I'm stuck listening to all my songs on shuffle, even if I just wanted to listen to a select few I put in the playlist.

    Auto-synching.
The playlist is a Smart Playlist, created with the following rule:
"name" "starts with" and then the letter, which I change daily.
    Options checked are:
Limit to 10gb selected by random
    Match Only Checked Items
    Live Updating
Again, when I sync, all the songs make it over, but the playlist is empty or only contains a couple of songs. This only seems to happen with Smart Playlists. If I select all the songs in the smart playlist, then create a new playlist based on the selection, this will sync properly.

  • My ipod touch is not syncing properly.

My Ipod touch is not syncing properly.  I download podcasts and it will not allow me to delete some shows after they have been listened to.  It is a neverending cycle of deleting unwanted podcast episodes from itunes on the computer, plugging in my ipod, syncing, and then it always takes the already listened to episodes, and puts them back into itunes on the comp.  I then delete them on the comp again, sync the ipod, and it again pulls them over from the ipod.  I have it set up to only sync unlistened to episodes, and beyond that, only checked things, but it does not seem to matter.  The only thing I can do to get the episodes off the ipod for good is to do a factory reset, and that absolutely should not be necessary!  Any ideas for something I am not seeing that is allowing this to continually happen?  This just started happening a couple of months ago.  Not sure what changed, but would like it fixed!  Thanks for any ideas in advance!

I have a similar problem, all since the ios update i think, my podcasts do not seem to sync, I have a song purchase via the ipod which no longer plays (just sits on the screen) this also doesnt sync back to itunes.
Its a complete mess. Seems everytime Apple push out an update my ipod becomes less useable.

  • 1st Gen ipod touch no longer keeping time

As the title says my 1st gen ipod touch no longer keeps time when I let it go completely flat. It keeps resetting itself back to the default time and date. Started happening in the last 6 months. I'm running IOS 2.2.1 never bothered updating to IOS 3 because of a known issue with the volume bar disappearing which I don't think had even been fixed. It hasn't been synced with the itunes for 2-3 years. The laptop with the itunes library for this device hasn't worked for a couple of years and haven't sync my ipod to a new computer due to some of the apps I used and some of my song/video purchases no longer being available and I don't want to risk losing those purchases if doing a factory resets not going to make a difference. Battery life for my ipod is still pretty good, get 3 weeks out of it when I leave it in standby mode using it for an alarm clock and about a week listening to music going to and from work only a few hours playing games or videos but that was never to great to begin with. My Ipod touch does have a cracked screen, but it's been cracked for the last 5 years. No other problems. Is else have this issue? Will factory reset make a difference or is it just something to put up with till my ipod touch dies?

It sounds like the battery is really dying and does not have enough voltage to maintain the time when the iPod shuts off due to low battery.
You can try restoring to factory settings/new iPod and see if that helps.

  • "Podcasts on the iPod 'iPod touch' cannot be synced ....?????

I'm getting a "Podcasts on the iPod 'iPod touch' cannot be synced because all of the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist" pop-up when ever I sync.
Here is a post that seems to addressing the same type of error message for a failed music sync but after reading it I'm not making any sense of how it might relate to the a problem with a podcast sync: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1788041.
In a reckless attempt to fix the problem I deleted all the playlists which I created in iTunes, then deleted and resubscribed to the podcasts, and then did a sync. But the error still occurs and no podcasts were added to the iTouch (even though the newly resubscribed podcasts are in iTunes on my PC). I also found that I could download a podcast directly to the iTouch without having to subscribe to the podcast in iTunes. But I'd rather be getting the podcasts via the subscription feature that is in iTunes and then syncing them to the iTouch.
Any ideas what is going on ?
    Thank you.

After reading your post several times, I think I understand what you are saying, but can we just check the precise sequence of events, for (let's say) one Podcast episode?
    Are you:
    1. downloading the Podcast in iTunes;
    2. Syncing the iPod and therefore placing that Podcast on the Touch;
    3. Listening to the Podcast and then using the delete facility _on the Touch_ to delete that Podcast from the Touch;
(3A. Adding more Podcasts (and/or music) to your iTunes Library;)
    4. Performing another Sync and getting the message "Podcasts on the iPod 'iPod touch' cannot be synced because all of the podcasts selected for syncing no longer exist"?
Step 3A may or may not have occurred, it's not crucial. What is important to find out from you, are you deleting Podcasts on the Touch?
    Phil
Oh, and by the way, if new Podcast are no longer being transferred to the iPod, has the setting for syncing Podcasts been changed? Look on the Podcasts pane when you connect the iPod to iTunes.

  • My new ipod touch will not sync to my dlink.

My new Ipod touch will not sync to my dlink.  My two laptops, and Ipad are already on.  I have tried resetting and still it will not sync.

What happens when you try to connect to the Wi-Fi? Any error messages? Have you tried a hard reset of the iPod?  To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, work through the remaining troubleshooting suggestions in this Apple support document.

  • Ipod touch no longer autosyncs since adding new windows format. Simple how to ?

Hello. Since downloading the new format assoc'd w/ Itunes10.1 my Ipod touch no longer automatically syncs. Is there something simple I'm missing ?

    Start here:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
I would first remove and reinstall all the Apple software by:
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7
The drivers in windows that sees the iPod as a camera is different that the drivers that see the iPod in iTunes.
