My iPod touch power button barely clicks. Its almost stuck down. Would my standard 1 year warranty cover this?

It is a fourth generation. The warranty had not run out yet

If the iPod has not been abused, then if defective Apple will exchange yur iPod for a refurbished one at no cost.

Apple will most likely exchange it. The one you receive will be refurbished.

If it's not damaged (water, fallen, etc.), you will have warranty if you bought it less than one year ago.

  • IPod Touch power button stuck

So I woke up one morning and my iPod's power on/off button was stuck in. I couldn't turn the device on or off, and I had to use the home button.
Eventually, I found out about the Accessive Touch thing but it's annoying having to do all of that when I can just click the button off. Plus I always touch it by accident.
Is there anyway I can replace the button or get it to pop out again?

  • IPod Touch Power Button Issue?

I have an 8GB 1st Generation iPod Touch (The one without the camera, power button on the left side instead of the right, yada yada yada). I've had it since Christmas, and it's run perfectly well, until yesterday. I began to notice that the power button (the small button at the top) was sticky. Not stuck, but simply sticky. Instead of having to tap it and add a slight pressure to get it to turn on, turn off, lock, ect, I now have to push down so hard that it leaves imprints on my fingers, not to mention that it doesn't always respond, as if it's jammed, and if I'm not very persistent it will lock, but not turn off. I have to try three or four times to turn it off using the power button, though occasionally the screen will flicker like I'm hitting the button multiple times. It's not like the button is stuck - I can still use it, but it's sticky. I was wondering if there is any solution that doesn't require sending my iPod in?
If you need any further explanation feel free to let me know, I'll be willing to tell you. Sending my iPod in isn't a problem really, though if there's a simple fix that I'm not aware of (seeing as this is my first iPod) I'd be much more willing to keep it here.

    Hi,
I have an 32G 2nd generation iPod touch with a problematic on/off button, and I'm not sure this is a physical problem at all.
My touch worked perfectly well until the version 3.0 update, and then I started having problems with the on/off "wake/sleep" button.
I often have to take 3 or 4 attempts to turn the screen off, and then when it does turn off it comes back on again with the "red bar" to switch it off. This is only supposed to happen when you purposely hold down the on/off button, but it does it when it feels like it now!
Like I said, it worked perfectly well on the version 2.0 software, but you couldn't possibly get into DFU mode to return it to version 2 because holding onto the button no longer seems to get the "red" bar to come up, so I've no idea where I am with it! It drives me nuts, but I'm almost positive it's an issue with the software.
Yes, I've tried a restore on several occasions, and turning it off and on so many times I can't count, but the problem never goes away!
I've asked Apple several times to deal with the issue, but they've had at least 6 attempts now, and nothing has been done about it. My Touch will now be stuck on 4.1 forever as I can't get iTunes 10, because I have an old mac that's on 10.4.11.
I'll have to live with it as it is, as I can't afford to upgrade, and I don't want to anyway because it works perfectly well, EXCEPT for this one annoying issue.

  • My ipod touch home button barely works.help!

i have had my ipod touch(64gb,4gen) for awhile now and i have noticed the home button is working very slowly. instead of instantly leaving an app i have to hold the button down for about 30-60 seconds. this is very irritating espically when i want to get to a different app. is there anything i can do or will i have to replace the entire ipod?

You can't really "fix" a hardware button. Apple will only replace the iPod, free if you are in warranty, $199 otherwise.

  • Is the Ipod Touch power button also a volume control?

Ever since I got my iPod Touch, whenever I press the power button, the volume goes up one level. I never thought anything of it until I started wanting to take screen shots and the volume control icon ends up in the picture, which is REALLY annoying and no one else seems to know why.  I read around under apple support and in discussions, and no one else seems to have this problem. Is this normal? And how can I fix it?
I added a screen shot that I took on my iPod Touch so you know what I mean by volume control icon.

    No it is not

  • Ipod touch power button problem

Wow...thats weird...you may just have to send it in, that sounds like a hardware issue.

  • IPod Touch Home Button Barely Working

I have a 32GB iPod Touch. I got it in August 2008 and have taken very good care of it since then. Yesterday I noticed that the Home button wasn't working like it used to. I had to really mash it down or hold it down for the home button to respond. Does anyone know why this might be happeneing or how to fix it.
I just read that someone else just posted a similar problem, but mine is different in that it still works, just not well.

I have had a shield on since I first bought the Touch. I thought that might be the problem so I took it off today and the problem persisted. That's why I came to ask here.

  • My iPod Touch Power Button is Acting Up?

My ipod touch is a new 4g, and when I turn it on it turns off really fast, and then I press it again and it comes on.  It is really annoying when I press it and it just turns off, so I have to press it again to turn it on.  Is there anyway to fix that?  Also I bought my ipod from wallmart about 4 months ago and am wondering if it is under warrenty with apple.  Like if I break a button or something will apple fix it or is there nothing I can do?

Try the following to rule out a saftware problem:
    - Reset. N0thing will be lost
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/new iPod
Ifyo still have a problem then you likely have a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.  If defective, Apple will replace your iPod under warranty.  You can check your warranty by entering your SN here:
Apple - Support - Check Your Service and Support Coverage

  • IPod Touch Home Button Loud Click

We have just bought the latest iPod Touch 3rd Gen and an iPhone 3GS.
The iPhone has a very quiet, soft to press, home button.
However, the iPod has a much louder, hard to press, home button which is very distracting and disappointing for a £229 device.
Does anybody else have this issue with iPod Touch?

  • HT1351 I'm trying to manually sync all my music to my iPod touch, but whenever I click the sync button it counts to 5 then stops. Is this because I have to check all 3055 songs individually? If so then I'm quitting with apple as a whole....

Sync and manually manage are two entirely different things.  You either sync or manually manage.
Manually manage is drag and drop.
Sync is when you select what you want and then sync.
