My iPod touch screen will not work.

Ever since last night, my iPod's touch screen has been messed up. I didn't use it incorrectly or anything; I just used my iPod like I normally did for the past eight months. I have seen no problems until now. The iPod's keyboard is screwed up, when I press the letter "a" the capitalizing button is activated. They same is repeated over and over among over letters as well. The first sign of the issue was when I was trying to watch a video, the play button refused to be pressed and random things were constantly activated while I did nothing. The lock screen slide doesn't work either, the only way to get into my iPod is my activating the lock camera and then pressing the home button. Should I restore the iPod or is there a quick way to fix this?

Your screen digitizer needs to be replaced. See options in link below.

  • My iPod touch 4G will not work after I tried to Downgrade it from iOS 5 to iOS 6

My iPod touch 4G will not work after I tried to Downgrade it from iOS 5 to iOS 6. The screen is black and it doesn't work.

Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    Hey ajnissly25,
Thanks for the question. If I understand correctly, the touchscreen on the iPhone wont work. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help you resolve or isolate the issue.

If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Try #2 and #3 in link below. If neither work, you most likely have a hardware issue.

  • My iPod touch speaker will not work in music.

After updating to iOS 4.3.3 my iPod touch(3rd generation) will no longer play music threw the speaker. It may play for a split second and it stops and the volume bar goes away along with the function of the volume buttons. The speaker will not work right away but eventually will return, it still works for youtube and and everything else but music.

  • My ipod touch screen will not rotate

My screen will not rotate. I understand it does not rotate when the keyboard is open, but is ther a rotate lock button somewhere?

If the screen rotation feture is locked(3G and 4G only) here will be a circled arrow with a pdlock inside shown on the upper right part of the iPod's screen. You access the lock by double clicking the Home button and going all the way to the left on the lower part of the screen.  you will either see a circled arrow or the circled arrow with a padlock inside.  Tap to change.

  • Have a 3rd generation ipod touch and the touch screen will not work.

What should I do?  My iPhone sometimes does this and there is a key on the side that I always hit and it makes it work again but my ipod doesn't have that.  What to do what to do what to do

    Try the standard fixes:
    - Reet. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory defaults/nw iPod.
If you still have the problem it is likely a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPhone 4s touch screen will not work with an active SIM card in it.

A few months ago my touch screen stopped working suddenly on my iPhone 4s. After I removed my active SIM card from the 4s, the touch screen started working again. As soon as I put my SIM card in again, it stopped working. I finally broke down and took it into a store where they replaced the screen. It started working again for about 5 days. Then this morning it just quit working again. I have restarted it and reset it. All of the software was up to date when it stopped working, so I haven't done anything with that. Could someone please help me with this? It's getting a little frustrating.

  • My i pod touch touch screen will not work it will not unlock or power of i tried restoring 2 times that did not work out does anyone know how to fix this massive problem

Restore to factory settings/new iPod if you have not do so already. If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPad 2 touch screen will not work. The screen is currently locked. The sliders work, but the number pad doesn't! My screen was shattered months ago, and worked fine until recently. I need to delete confidential info before replacing the glass. HELP!

Again, everything worked perfectly until about two days ago. Out of nowhere, the numbers on the unlock screen stopped working. The sliders still work, the photo button still works. I've tried reseting it multiple times, and powering it off multiple times as well! Any help would be very helpful. It needs to be fixed as soon as possible for a private buyer. Thank you!!

Have a read at all this, including the links. I personally would then proceed in this order.
Open iTunes on your computer. Connect your device (iPad or whatever) to the computer.  Hold both home and power buttons for exactly 10 seconds, release the power button, keep holding home button until your device recognises it is in Recovery Mode. (Perhaps 10-20 seconds.) If the device screen is black (blank) then it is in DFU Mode.
See this link and note the sentence commencing, 'If you restore from a different computer.... ' down near the bottom of the page.

  • IPod touch screen will not flip when turned sideways

My iPod when i turn it to either side it wil not turn. It still works with no problems. I've tried everything from restarting to restoring. This problem is very aggravating if anyone can help I'd be much obliged. Thank you.

Do you have any applications that depend on the iPod's ability to turn sideways that you could test out and see if they work?
The free application iHandyLevel would be worth downloading and opening to see if the leveling capabilities respond when you angle the iPod. If not, you've got a hardware issue and the iPod needs to be repaired.

  • HT4437 Airplay on apple tv works from my ipod touch but will not work from my macbook pro.  Any thoughts on wht the problem may be?

any idea on what the problem is?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Does your MacBook meet the specifications for AirPlay
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
    Restart your router.
    Restart your mobile device.
