First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

No. Only iPhone 4S and iPad (2nd or 3rd Gen) as it requires more processing power. You can still use airplay with your device though.

i have both the ipod touch and the ipod hi fi (the discontinued one) and yeah they work great together.. too bad it seems that last software upgrades from Apple to the itouch removed its capacity to have the "speakers" settings tab in the main option menu =(

IPod Touch stuck with the Apple Logo

Ok, So i just got a new iPod Touch 16G. As soon as I connected it to iTunes, it started syncing then it just froze up and said data could not be synced because the iPod is not connected. I ejected the iPod & restarted it, but it just shows the Apple logo. It wont do anything else. I updated the software, charged it, and tried connecting it again but it shows the same message after syncing about 100 songs.
I've never even used it. Any idea what may be wrong with it?
EDIT: It finished syncing all of my music. But after it disconects, it doesn't do anything. Just the Apple Logo.

What happens when you try to connect it to your iTunes library in Recovery Mode? See this article for steps on how to put your iPod Touch into recovery mode. Don't be afraid to try this more than once.

I recently replaced an older iPod touch with a new iPod touch. The older touch synced with my 2011 mitsubishi lancer. Granted it took the two awhile to communicate but they always synced. I just got the new iPod touch on Feb 3 and tried to sync it with my lancer. It actually syned very quickly and worked perfectly. After I came out of Best Buy to go home, I plugged the touch in again and this time it just said iPod loading..... After about 5 minutes I unhooked the iPod and went back to sirius. Now iPod loading is all I get now....

Yes, it's compatible. Try using Disk Utility to reformat the Nano to see if that helps. Here are instructions on how to reformat your iPod using Disk Utility.

The iPad charger will work fine. I use my iPad charger if it is more convenient.

Why don't the new 4th gen ipod touches come with the headphones with a mic?

They came with the 3rd generation 32g & 64g ipod touches, why dont they come with the 4thgen ipod touches -___- Those headphones are expensive and i would like them to at least include a **** charger too.

Please help! I now hook my ipod touch up to my P.C, and it is NOT RECOGNISING my ipod!! Heres the problem AGAIN, let me make myself a little more clear on WHAT a stupid thing i did earlier..... I receieved a message (ON MY IPOD) saying a new version of I.O.S 6 is available, so it says I needed at least 50% charged, OR had to be plugged in, so I PLUGGED in, and hit the button to update to newest version, then did what I had to do, came BACK to the iPod at 30 min later, and the bar seemed to not be moving, and i had to go to work, so i FORCED A SHUT DOWN by holding the home and the top button together, as i normally would to shut the thing down if something was jammed or whatever....so I did that, and it came back on BY ITSELF with the apple sign, then 5minutes later, the blank screen came up, and NOW every single time I TRY shutting it down, it WON'T STAY OFF, it comes right back on to the apple sign, then back to blank screen every time, can't get it to stay off! And now when I hook to my PC, it's not recognizing the iPod, I don't know how to recover it, cuz the iPod WON'T STAY OFF for me to do it!! And another thing, i let the ipod die completely, then plugged it in to charge, then it came back on as usual by itself, and still done the same thing!! All because i stopped an update in the middle of it updating!! It seems as if i wiped it completely out! But theres gotta be a way to restore??? need to speak with someone on the phone, cuz I don't have the money to spend right now on an apple support person!

It will NOT STAY OFF, it WILL NOT SHOW ME THE SLIDE BAR TO POWER OFF MANUALLY, and when I force shutdown, it immediately comes BACK ON BY ITSELF!! And then nothing but white screen! My PC COMPUTER will NOT recognize the iPod as being plugged into USB on my computer for me to RECOVER this IPod, so I do not know what else to do??? I have updated to the latest version of iTunes, and STILL NOTHING!!! This is my kids iPod that I screwed up here, and I am very upset! It's a 4th gen, 32gb iPod touch that is NOT CHEAP at all, and I am freaking out man!!! What do I do?
