My ipod touch won't do anything (At All!)
My ipod touch newest model will not charge, turn on, reset, or do anything and it is not recognized when i plug it in to my usb 2.0 and turn on itunes (by itunes or my computer.) I have also tried multiple usb ports A few days ago it worked fine, as i purchased it a few months ago. Now it won't do anything. Please help and thanks for taking your time to read this.

You can work through the five 5 R's of troubleshooting to rule out the possibility of corrupted software.

It might also be a good idea to let the iPod's battery fully drain. Then charge it back up and restore it once more in iTunes.
Otherwise, it's likely a hardware issue with the iPod's LCD display, meaning you'll need to take or send your iPod in for service either via Apple or a third party repair service. Here is Apple's repair pricing.

Note that they don't actually repair the device, but exchange it for one of the same generation, model, and capacity. A third party service will actually replace the damaged part for a little less. Google "iPod screen repair" and you should get a number of results to work with.

Brand new iPod touch won't do anything over WiFi
My iPod touch arrived in the mail this morning and since I charged it up it either a) browses extremely slow in Safari and then quits or b) continues to claim there is no network connection.
I currently have it downgraded to WEP and now nothing works, Mail, Safari, not even the Weather app will update. YouTube has never worked at all.
I'm on 2.1.1 software and have since discovered this forum is full of WiFi problems. Needless to say I am very dissatisfied with this and had I known the iPod touch is absolutely useless for WiFi I would've saved $100 and just got a nano instead.Hi. I have a Linksys WRT5G V8 router, a Zyxel -600 Series modem, a PC running windows xp, and a MacBook. My PC and Macbook run fine. My iPod touch does not.
I have updated the firmware. I have made a full bridge connection. I have restored my iPod. I have power cycled the modem and router.
If you will bear with me, I will now post what my setting are on my router with the hopes someone will be able to help me make a connection with my iPod. I should point out that like others, I am able to connect to the internet, but not download any pages or send/receive mail.

So....by looking at the above, can someone please tell me what to do to make the iPod touch connect to the internet and download pages?
I have spent hours upon hours and then more hours trying to make this thing work. I paid and additional fee to Linksys to have them troubleshoot the problem but the first guy i spoke with said I had to do the bridge connection so we hung up and when he called back, I was out and he never called back so I called Linksys. Despite the fact that I explained how I had spoken with an advanced tech, the man would not transfer me and insisted my problem was solved because my pc, laptop, and iPod did connect to the network -- never mind the fact that 1 of the three didn't work properly which was the sole purpose of my phone call to begin with.
I would really like to get the iPod going -- my daughter just bought her's and is anxiously looking forward to being able to use it.
In closing, I'm wondering if I should give up with this particular router and buy a new one...but which new one? The Apple tech recommended either an Airport Extreme or Airport Express -- has anyone had success connecting these to iPod Touches?????

I have had an Ipod Touch for 10 months now, bt suddenly for no reason my Ipod doesn't show up on the computer at all. It doesn't say it's charging, it doesn't make a noise and it doesn't show up in the computer or itunes.
I have tried using different cables, different computers and different cables with different computers. I have re-installed itunes, re-installed quicktime, turned off firewalls and all other security stuff. I have done everything people have told me to.

P.S Over the time that i have had my ipod i have cracked the screen (my own fault) and have not repaired it yet, and i still have warranty.Thanks -- actually I worded the question wrong. I was trying to find my songs icon and kept reloading Itunes to try to find it. All I could get was the store. I finally figured out how to reset the desktop and I got my icon back. My 4th Gen iPod Touch won't open up the apps I've downloaded. I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling the app and it seems to only be a temporary fix. The reset and reboot didn't work either. Help would be appreciated.
In more specific terms. The apps that came on the iPod like the weather and maps and whatnot have been working flawlessly. It's just when I download an app and then disconnect from wifi it's almost like I'm on a timer until the app stops working. It acts like it wants to open, the screen flashes black then resets to the home pages. I've tried all of the basic fixes, rebooting, reseting, uninstalling then reinstalling. But like in my...long...question, the reinstalling option only seems to be a temporary fix. I don't know what happened. but I am beginning to think apple is ripping me and everyone off.
I don't know why I paid about 200-300 dollars for this iPod to be frozen or not turn on anymore!
When I downloaded Currency converter pro, it just froze my ipod.
Either it's that problem, or something is wrong.
I never dropped it in water or anything bad.
PLEASE HELP.Have you've tried holding down the power button for several seconds?
If so and you're still getting nothing you may have to do a hard restore.
here's how to do it on Mac OS:
1. Connect you're iPod to the computer with the sync cable, and open iTunes.
2. Hold down the power and home buttons for 10seconds, then release the power button (continue holding the home button for about another 6-8 seconds). iTunes should display a message stating that the iPod is in restore mode and needs to be restored before it can be used (or something to that effect).
3.Hitting the restore button will likely give an error message. You'll need to hold down option and click the restore button, which will bring up a file browser. Navigate to *<your user name>/Library/iTunes/iPod Software Updates/* and choose iPod2,12.2.1_5H11aRestore.ipsw (or similar ipsw file depending on your ipod, or iphone, generally choose the newest one) and click open.
4. Wait for it to restore, when that's finished you should be able to further restore it using the backup that was generated when you last synced it.
I have never done this on windoze, but I imagine it's quite similar, just not sure where you'd find the ipsw file. -

Suddenly, my 4th generation iPod Touch won't charge. I don't mean it won't hold a charge; I mean it WON'T charge. There's no (peep!) when I attach it to a Mac, a Windows box, or to the wall. I've tried not only at my place but at my doctor's office, too, on his computer. Rats.
It fell three feet onto a concrete floor a week before this happened, so I'm unsure of cause/effect there. However, chances are most excellent that I touched it while filled with static electicity (my bed is exceedingly staticky). Maybe I touched the charging port? I have no idea, but I kinda sorta have a memory of having gotten a shock while touching my pod and wondering whether that was bad.
It'll be a couple more days before I can get to a Genius Bar (but thank cow I'm in New York City and have my pick of them!). In the meantime, can anyone calm me down about my situation? Do you imagine it's doomed (it IS still operable provided I keep it plugged in, though iTunes can't see it since it won't mount), or do you spose the installation of a new battery might bring my precious baby back to me? It IS freshly backed up (again, thank cow!), but I'm not in a position to buy a new one right now, and unfortunately, I don't know what to do with my eyeballs without a Touch in front of them.
Oh, how I hope someone can tell me that this has happened to him, and an Apple Genius merely did something magical and handed it back intact and amazing again so Ican cry happy tears. It's been four days and I'm just sick without it (and having to look at this gigantic Mac, with its large and beautiful text in many windows, means I can't RECLINE! WAAAAH!).

I don't like it (I *never* like to think about logic board damage for any piece of hardware), but it's tantalizing, as it would explain my pod seemingly charging out of thin air, and it'd also explain why my pod doesn't just DIE altogether from a dead battery.
I feel like an idiot: I have iTunes set to never sync automatically with my pod, so it never automatically recognizes the pod. I'll bet I could sync it if I clicked to "apply," as I've been downloading new apps since 2/21 (the last time I backed the pod up, mere minutes before it failed), but I don't want to risk not having a connection that's 100% and bollixing up what's on the pod now. (I'll be in the hospital for a day and will need something to read the whole time; I'll need an intact pod!)
Thanks for sticking with me, Kevin; I always like figgering things out, and your theory's interesting. I'll mention it to the Genius. It doesn't give me any hope, but not having any hope, I can always be pleasantly surprised, whereas if I go in all hopeful, someone can dash my dreams. This way, I'll prolly just have my expectations met.

It appears that there is something incorrect with your billing information. You need to correct it. For a standard account you need a valid payment method even for free apps. You can however create a new account that is only good for apps by:

The two have to be the same and the payment method for your account also has to be associated (billing address, where iTunes gift card was purchased) with that country.

My ipod touch won't respond. Shortly after I downloaded IOS 8, it quite responding. All I get is the Apple sign. I connected to my computer and tried updating and was able to download the USB connection for the device but received an error when it tried to update the ipod. Is there any way to retrieve my pictures from the device before I try to recover? At this point my pictures are more valuable to me than restoring the device. How can I get my pictures recovered?

New ipod touch won't work with itunes 10.6.3, says it needs 11.1 or newer but I cannot load that onto my MacBook running on OSX 10.5.8 - is there anyway around this?
No. If your MacBook has an Intel processor you can update to OSX 10.6.8 and then install the latest iTunes.
A 5G iPod with iOS 7 requires that if you have a Mac you have OSX 10.6.8 or later.
