My ipod touch won't load my apps, they open then shut back down, it hasn't been updated in a while but if I update it will i lose all my game progress ?

My ipod touch is trying to open apps but they fail to load, I have played the games religiously before so they did previously work, again I have a lot of games which I do not want to lose, if I updated my iopd would I lose this progress ?
Also can I transfer games and progress from the ipod touch to my iphone 3G ( I do not remember my old apple ID for the the ipod
Any advice would be help

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

because sometimes they are prevented from sharing such information? they don't know? could even require sending it 'out' to a repair center.
though with most electronics, there is only so much that can be swapped out, and even then a new unit and let engineering see what and why.... and maybe there is a defective chip, sensor or even shorting

Use the communities search box in the upper right of this page and searc for: "the apps can't be determined". Use the quote makes and make sure the wording matches what the error message says.
You will then find the previous discussions with the same error. I do not remember the solution.

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

Copy your ENTIRE iTunes FOLDER to an External Drive... and then from the External Drive to your New Computer..

If you have iOS 3.1.3 on your iPod then it is an Apple problem and they are working on it.

Whenever I click on music, it'll say "updating library, this may take a few minutes" and it'll show the music. Originally, it wouldn't show the music, it would just show that message then go back to home screen. But now, all it does is when I select a song, it'll go back to home screen and it won't play the music. I've updated it, backed it up. The videos won't even show up. I'll press on that, and it'll give me that message of "updating library", and then it'll go back to home screen. I don't know what to do. It has the latest update and everything. The only thing I haven't tried is wiping it and then putting everything back on. Only because I know that'll take a long time and I have a feeling it wouldn't do anything. First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

the router is using AES incription.
my wi-fi is a secured connection WPA2,
i believe i should have WEP or WAP connection for it to work?
i have set up my daughters nintendo 3ds lite to internet no problem using existing connection.
talktalk said they do not support apple ipod touch sytem?
