try wipeing the screen with an baby wipe to see if any dirty finger prints are on the screen

What country's Store are you using?
The two have to be the same and the payment method for your account also has to be associated (billing address, where iTunes gift card was purchased) with that country.
Has the ID(s) worked before for purchases for this country's store? -
My ipod touch won't respond. Shortly after I downloaded IOS 8, it quite responding. All I get is the Apple sign. I connected to my computer and tried updating and was able to download the USB connection for the device but received an error when it tried to update the ipod. Is there any way to retrieve my pictures from the device before I try to recover? At this point my pictures are more valuable to me than restoring the device. How can I get my pictures recovered?

Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

Syning with iTunes is completely separate from iCloud, except that if you have elected to sync calendars and contacts with iCloud you cannot sync them with iTunes.

My ipod touch was synced with another computer that I no longer have. Will I be able to tranfer my music and videos to my new conputer without losing the items I didn't purchase from itunes.
Move or copy all the media from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer.

IPod Touch won't respond to anything
I have an iPod (1G, 16GB) that's just slightly over a year old, and the other day it stopped working for no apparent reason. I can't get any response from it - I've tried forcing it on by plugging it in to my computer, I've tried putting it in DFU mode; I can't try to put it in recovery mode since iTunes won't register it. Nothing happens. It won't turn on, it's just stuck on a black screen. The only indication that something was wrong, was that a few hours prior to when it wouldn't start up, the music I was listening to would randomly pause after a few seconds. I've had problems where I wasn't able to turn the iPod on before ever since I've gotten it (maybe 2 or 3 times, once just about a month after I'd gotten it), but I never thought much of it since I was able to force it on by plugging it in to my computer. I've read that it could be hardware failure. Is there any way to fix this, or is it lost forever? Thanks.

Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)

Without know exactly what you did or what happened:
Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
My sound usually works but just yesterday it totally just stopped. The sound is turned on full, the headphones are out, and I've tried turning it off then back on but it didn't help at all. It's an iPod touch 2nd generation, 8G.
Try the following to rule out a software probleM
- Reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup
- Restore to factory defaults/new iPodIf you still have the problem you likely have a problem with the headphone jack in the iPod. They can be replaced. I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store to identify/determine the cause. -
I am using an old iPhone 3 as an iPod touch. It's no longer connected to a network. I am trying to download apps while using a secure internet connection, however, it's not allowing me to do so. The message is gives is: "Cannot Connect to the Store" A secure connection could not be established. Please check your date and time settings." I'm confused as to how I can fix this. Yes, but if you delete the iCloud account and start again, don't you have to wait 90 days for everything to start syncing?? I've been having this problem for months and no one seems to be able to figure it out. I used to have one Apple ID (which was not an email address) and then when iOS came along....and iCloud, they force you to use your email address as ID ....which actually sets up a SECOND Apple ID. I have a Mac, iPad, iPod touch and iPhone. the Apple techs tried to delete the iCloud accounts so that they all said the same thing (email address ID) but then I had to wait 90 days. the 90 days just passed and nothing is automatically syncing yet. I still think there are 2 accounts but if I delete all again.....it's going to be another 90 days (for security reasons, I was told). This is a real pain in the butt.
