  • My iPod touch won't turn off. I tried and the turn off slide button in stuck in the of position, but it's still not turning off. It's been a few days please help!!!!

My white 4th generation iPod touchs turn of slide button is stuck on off but my iPod won't turn off for some reason and it only shuts off when the battery dies. It's been stuck like this for some time. Please please please help!!!!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • My ipod touch 5G keeps turning off and on after i turned off everything in mobilesubstrate settings on SB setting!

Ok, so i just jailbroke, and my ipod was going into safe mode a lot on its own, so i searched online for a solution, and that was to find the problem cydia tweak i downloaded, one of the ways was to got into the mobilesubstrate settings and single out the tweak, so i turned everything off but one, then my ipod shut off, and now it keeps turning off and on non stop, but never goes to the lockscreen, and the time for this startup and shutdown is prolonged! please Help!!!  i tried to restore with itunes but it keeps turning on and off!

Jailbreaking voids the Apple warranty and also means that you will not get any support from Apple, including from this Apple forum. Jailbreaking can't be discussed in this Apple forum.

  • HP 2210xi all in one printer won't turn off so I can try resetting it.

I have a error message: Remove and check cartridge. I have removed both cartridges, cleaned them and cleaned the points on the printer. I tried to turn the printer off so I can unplug the power cord and see if resetting will help. Pressing the on/off switch does not turn the printer off. I have not tried downloading firmware updates (something I've never done) and will try that if anyone thinks it will help. I've read that my next step would be to buy new cartridges, but since the printer won't turn off I'm concerned that I'll be stuck with $50 worth of ink and still need a new printer. Any help will be appreciated!!

    Hi @3Friends ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand you are having a problem with the scan to email feature on your Photosmart 7520.
I would like to help you.
    Try setting a manual DNS.
Here is a link, to a post by happytohelp01, that has some nice screen shots and the steps.
It is for a 7510, but the steps will be the same.
Efax 7510 still won't work after turning off/on ePrint several times
If that does not get the scan to email working, you may have to remove, then enable the web services.
This will be kind of like an uninstall/reinstall, for the scan to email and ePrint features.
If you have a custom ePrint address, it will be lost.
Not lost for six months, or a year, but forever.
Just touch the ePrint icon on the printer
Go into the settings sub menu, then scroll down and chose remove web services.
It will bring you back to the main screen, just touch the ePrint icon again, and enable the feature.
After that go to scan to email and set it up again.
Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

  • My iPod touch won't turn on - and doesn't successfully restore

    Hi,
This is really a last resort, because I feel I've tried everything at MY disposal to fix my issue.
    Problem:
I have an iPod Touch - 1st Generation, with all updated firmware and updated iTunes to go with it. It simply won't turn on. When plugged in to my computer via USB, it displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen, and I follow the steps to restore it. It fails during restore though. Here's what happens:
    1. The screen shuts off and changes to the Apple loading screen
    2. iTunes starts "Preparing iPod for restore"
    3. The iPod screen shuts off, nothing being shown
    4. iTunes stays on "Preparing iPod for restore" for a minute or so
    5. I then get an error saying "Unable to restore iPod - Error 1603"
And yes, I have tried recovering my iPod, going into DFU mode, and also going to the help page for Error 1603 and following instructions. The only thought is that the battery is dead, because nothing else pops up.
I've have the iPod for just under 3 years, and it has worked for the whole time up until a few months ago - the battery was not lasting as long as usual.
    Any help would be appreciated!
    Thanks

  • My iPod touch won't turn on and I don't know what to do?

My iPod touch was running slow so I decided to shut it down completely and then restart it, but now it won't turn on again. The apple will appear like its starting up but then it just goes black again in a continuous cycle. I've tried plugging it in but it doesn't connect and I've tried letting it run until the battery dies  nothing works!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod Touch won't turn on and Home button is broken!

I tried to restore my iPod touch with iTunes, then I got error 1601. From this moment, the device won't turn on. The home button is broken and warranty is expired, so I don't know how to solve this problem. I know people who press power and home button at the same time, (and it works) but as I said, the home button is broken. It was broken long before the restore attempt, and I already tried every single way to fix it.

If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.

  • My ipod classic won't turn off and it's draining my battery

I bought my ipod in September 2007 and it worked fine until about 2 weeks ago just after the last software upgrade (not sure if it is connected) but now I can't turn it off.
I have also tried the sleep function but all that does is make it inactive whilst leaving the details on the screen and still draining my battery.
Since the batteries have a finite life is this Apples new way of getting our hard earned cash now that the battery life has improved!
Can anyone help me solve this problem I have tried reset (several times) and restore and neither solved the problem.
    Thanks

There are at least two diff probs here. 1) Ipod is hung and won't respond to turn off signal (pressing bottom of wheel) at all. This happens soemtimes when, for example, your ipod is connected to a docking device and you turn it off while pressing bottom of wheel wheel - then you immediately unplug it the ipod, which lights it up again -- sometimes it will won't then respnod to a a shut off signal by presing bottom of wheel. This prob has been recurring on ipods for years and can be fixed with a reset.
    2) When you press the bottom of the wheel, the ipod turns off for about a half second or so and lights right back up again. This prob i smore pernicious, has an unknown cause and is not fixed by a reset. If you restore, the prob can be fixed but only UNTIL you reload you music files onto the Ipod - then the prob automatically returns. Some suspecdt this prob has to do with a file problem and ipod's inability to appropriately deal with the file problem.

  • IPod touch won't turn on and home button isn't working

So two days ago I was using my iPod and I put it town for a few minutes, and when I came back it would not turn on. It was fully charged so it is not a battery issue. It's a iPod touch 5th gen. Usually when this happens I do the home and power button press but now my home button doesn't work. I don't know what happened to that either because it suddenly stopped working. I tried to use TinyUmbrella and Macboot (or whatever it's called) but they didn't work because they didn't recognize my device. Is there any other way to fix this? Or any way to get the home button un stuck?

I Really need a solution, and if you could tell me the cause, that would be awesome too.

Try this... Close All Open Apps...  Perform a Reset... Try again...
Reset  ( No Data will be Lost )
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Release the Buttons.
