My white 4th generation iPod touchs turn of slide button is stuck on off but my iPod won't turn off for some reason and it only shuts off when the battery dies. It's been stuck like this for some time. Please please please help!!!!

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

So I charged my phone yesterday but it didn't seem to get charged because the battery percentage went lower instead of higher after I plugged out my phone. Then the battery percentage subsequently got lower even faster, jumping from 28% to 15% within ~a minute. It was very hot too, so maybe overheating was the problem. Then I tried charging my phone again after leaving it to cool but it won't charge and keeps flashing the Apple logo.

since the start of the summer holidays i havent used my iPod touch as i would if i was at school...
it's been in my Teknika iPod speakers... i unplugged them for a while so the battery must have gone flat
but i am curious as to why my iPod is not turning on now, i've held the on button down for a while which
didnt do anything so i held the on button and the middle button... this didnt do anything either... i left my
iPod for a whole day to charge the other week and the next day it came on but kept turning itself off...
since then as i said its been in the docks but its never turned itself back on as it would usually do if it went dead
please help?! i need my iPod back before school otherwise i will die!

After coneecting to a charging source for half an hour:
- connect it to your computer. If it shows in iTunes, restore the iPod via iTunes
- If it does not show, see if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow you to restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

I have an ipod touch, version 4.3.5, and I can't sync it to my MacBook Pro any more. When I plug it in, it shows up as a device in iphoto, but not in itunes
. I have tried re-starting both, and using different ports, to no avail. Any suggestions? I recently upgraded the laptop to leopard, and this is the first time I've tried to sync the ipod since then.

Also, downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.

you have to connect your ipod to the computer, when you put in the cable you have to hold the home button, i had the same.

My Ipod Touch won't play music. When I click on Itunes, all it does is open the ITunes Store. There are no playlists at all, but they show up on my computer just fine. I have tried syncing several times, and have tried making a new playlist.

I have tried making a new playlist, and have synced it a gazillion times. This all happened when I bought a new computer and transferred my Ipod to it...with upgraded Itunes software. I have tried everything.

Thanks -- actually I worded the question wrong. I was trying to find my songs icon and kept reloading Itunes to try to find it. All I could get was the store. I finally figured out how to reset the desktop and I got my icon back. Thanks for your answer.

Does the ext directory have the php_oci8.dll? In the original steps the PHP dir is renamed. In the given php.in the extension_dir looks like it has been updated correctly. Since PHP distributes php_oci8.dll by default I reckon there would be a very good chance that the problem was somewhere else. Since this is an old thread I don't think we'll get much value from speculation.
