OK, time for a little more WiFi troubleshooting. Try these steps (even if you have recently tried some of them):
1. Power cycle your router. Unplug it, wait about 30 seconds and plug it back in.
2. Reset your iPod's network settings - again
3. Log back onto your network by tapping Settings > WiFi > Other
4. Re-enter your network name, security setting, and password
5. Assuming it logs onto your network and you get a check mark next to your network name, tap the blue > next to the name. You should see a device IP, network submask, router IP, and DNS IP addresses. If you don't see all four or your IP address starts with 169.x, your router is not issuing you, via DHCP, a valid IP address.
If you are not getting a valid IP address and are running WEP encryption - open up your router controls and record the hex value that appears in the Key1 field. Use this in place of a password.
If you are not getting a valid IP address and are not running WEP encryption - visit you router makers website and look for updated firmware. Download and install that firmware and try steps 2-4 again.

IPod Touch wont download podcasts anymore
Up until last Friday I would download my daily podcasts directly to my iPod Touch(Third Generation) via wifi connection by clicking on the "Get More Episodes" link at the bottom of each podcast list in my music folder on my ipod. For some reason it has stopped listing the newest episodes for all of my podcasts, even when I look up them in iTunes on my iPod. Has this been happening to anyone else? Any solutions? Has Apple changed something to disable this ability? The "Get More Episodes" link is still listed under each podcast.
Some of these problems do not seem to be the same. Here is the problem I am experiencing, which I believe to be the same problem the original poster listed:
I used to be able to download podcasts directly to my first-generation iPhone. Now, when i go to one of my favorite podcasts and click on "Get More Episodes...," no episodes are listed. Instead, what I see is the number of reviews, the star rating, and "More from this provider."
The only thing I recall doing that might have affected this is disconnecting the payment account from my iTunes account, but when I linked it back up it didn't fix the problem, so I'm not sure what caused this, nor do I know how to fix it.
I tried synching, and that did not fix it either.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? -
My ipod touch wont let me download free games
my ipod touch wont download free games
I had that same problem, I used a gift card (all of it), and when I tried to use the AppStore it wouldn't let me, I tried calling apple support and iTunes support, but they did not help. The way I resolved my problem is I went to the grocery store and bought a visa debit gift card, with $1.00 balance on it and put that info on my billing settings when they asked me to update it or change it or whatever, and it worked perfectly, that may be the ONLY way for your problem to be resolved, and it's a confirmed answer, since I have done it myself, if you don't do that, you will never be able to download free apps, receive and download gifted apps, or even UPDATE an app, it ***** I know, I went through exactly what you did, and if you do what I did, you'll be able to use the AppStore again! Hope this was helpful for you.

My Ipod touch wont allow me to get into itunes. So I downloaded some apps through istore onto the itunes on my computer, yet it still wont allow me to sync them to my ipod. It doesnt even give me the option to do so. The only things syncing to my ipod are music and pictures. Can anyone please help me??
You need to restore the iPod on the new computer. You can only sync apps (and some other stuff) from different computers/libraries but you can manage music and some other stuff among different computers/libraries.
You need to restore you iPod and see the following regarding the pairing error message.

Do you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
A 1G can only go to 3.1.3
A 3G only to 5.1.1

What version of iTunes is on the computer? The latest is 11
iPod touch (3rd generation)
iPod touch (3rd generation) features a 3.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen multi-touch display and 32 GB or 64 GB flash drive. You can browse the web with Safari and watch YouTube videos with Wi-Fi. You can also search, preview, and buy songs from the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store on iPod touch.
The iPod touch (3rd generation) can be distinguished from iPod touch (2nd generation) by looking at the back of the device. In the text below the engraving, look for the model number. iPod touch (2nd generation) is model A1288, and iPod touch (3rd generation) is model A1318. -
my wifi on my ipod touch wont even turn. when i go to slide the button to turn on it wont let me slide it....it says there is no wifi.

However, frequently it is due to a hardware problem an an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Aplpe store is required. -
my ipod touch wont turn on ive tried restoring it but every time i do it just says its waiting for the ipod to respond. meanwhile my ipod is no longer a black screen but the apple logo with a loading bar underneath that after leaving for 8 hours hasnt moved.
Try:
- Another cable
- Another USB port
- Reboot the computer
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in.
My old 1st gen ipod touch wont turn on and makes a clicking sound when I plug it in. The ipod doesnt turn on when I plug it into the wall, even if I let it charge, and itunes won't recognize it. I have tried to reset it with the home and power buttons. Whats wrong and how can I fix it? I think it might be the memory or the battery. What could the clicking sound be related to? Thanks
Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then try restoring the iPod. For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
After that I would make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. -
1st Gen. iPod touch wont turn on. Home button doesn't work. Can't reset.
Hi there. My 1st generation iPod touch wont turn on. The battery has drained completely, and the few times this happened in the past, I could just reset it by holding the home and top buttons, the iPod would turn on, I could plug it in, and then it would charge--no problems. However, now the home button does not work, so I cannot reset it. When I plug it in to the charger, the Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears. Also, if I hold the top button for about 2 seconds, the same thing happens (Apple logo appears for about 20 seconds, then disappears). So, it doesn't turn on, wont reset due to the home button not working, and can't connect to the computer or iTunes. However, it still has some life in it because the Apple logo always appears when it's plugged in or when I hold the top button. Can anybody help? Thanks.
~BrettSee if this program will place the iPOd in recovery mode so yu can restore the iPOd.
