- Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. I supsect either a cable problem or a problem with your connector in the iPod.

I have 3 ipod touches. Just got a new one and set up an apple id for it. But when i use the ipod to go to store to make a purchace. It tells me to sign in, and brings up an Apple ID and ask for password. the problem is the Apple ID its bringing up is for my other Ipods. How do i change it to bring up my id i set up with That ipod. I never once put that id into the current ipod. Like i dont even know how it got there.
This is what yo have to do:
Go to Settings>iTunes and App Stores and sign out and sign in with the other account.
That is the only place.
Try signing out. Then
Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

I dont have Itunes because it slows my computer down so i dont know how to reset it.

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

What if I buy a new ipod touch tomorrow - will I get the new apps for free
If I go to a retail store and buy a new touch tonight will it have the new apps or will I get them for free via download or do I have to wait until a fresh supply comes in with the apps pre-installed from the factory.
I don't want to get your hopes up, but Apple know which ipods have been activated, and which haven't so, maybe they will automatically include the updates with activations.
Otherwise... the free voucher/code thing will probably be the case.. Unless you wait until the new updated models reach the shop! -

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

Updating ipod touch to os5.1 got an error message "cannot connect the ipod touch because the pairing record is missing" don't know what this means or how to fix but am stuck, only option is to answer ok and close the error box. Any ideas?

try to restore in itunes bye putting in recovey mode turn the ipod off press the home button and plug in the ipod into the computer. an itunes shuld see it in recovery mode and click restore. and that should do the trick.
