My ipod turns off for no reason and the battery is fully charged

I've had my ipod for a week and have had nothing but problems with it! It turns off for no reason while listening to music and the battery is fully charged. It even does it in the car while connected to the fm transmitter/charger. Please help! Also I bought a movie from itunes and I can hear the movie playing but I can't see it play. Thanks for your help!

I've had my ipod Photo for almost a year and just had the same thing happen for the first time - it just stopped, fully charged, while playing. And, it froze up in the sleep mode. I followed the instructions to reset it ( toggling the Hold Switch on and off) but nothing happened on the first 3 tries. I let it sit for about 15 minutes while searching in the Help & Apple Discussions forum and, just now tried toggling the Hold Switch again and noticed before doing so, that it had shut off. I toggled the Hold Switch to the locked position (Hold) then to the unlocked position and it came back on!
I'm sorry I can't tell you why it happens. If anyone knows, I'd like to know, too.

Take it back to the Apple Store for repair since it's still in warranty.

Sometimes my iPad1 locks up and has the flat battery graphic after charging all night, but will not work until you disconnect the charger, then it reboots and the battery is fully charged and works normally.
It has only happened for the last month or so
Also, sometimes it drops out of apps, ie facebook etc. just like you have hit the stop button

Who replaced the battery? If it wasn't Apple the replacement is probably bad also. Either that, or the logic board is bad.

  • My iPad shut off for some reason.  The battery was charged.  I couldn't get it to turn back on until I pressed the on button and home at the same time. Why did that happen?

I had trouble upgrading my iPad2 toiOS 5.1.I have had it for about 1 year.  I had never upgraded it.  I tried a few times but I kept getting a message that I would loose everything on my iPad if I did.  I bit the bullet andfigured that I would restore it from the back up on my laptop.  Some of the backup files were corrupted.  I was unable to retore my exchange email or my notes from the noted app.
Today, my iPad shut off for no reason and I couldn't get it to turn on again, even though the battery was 70% charged.  I had to press the on button and home button to get it to come back on.

I'm not sure what problem you are experiancing but it would be well worth contacting apple.
If you have had it for less than one year it should be covered under warrenty

  • My iPhone 4S just turned off for no reason and won't turn back on?

My iPhone 4S just died for no apparent reason and now it will not turn back on. It was at about 90% battery at the time because I had just recently charged it so I don't think it died because of low battery. I have tried plugging it into outlets and computers/iTunes and nothing seems to work. I also can't do the trick involving holding down the power and home button because my power button has been jammed for over a year now. My iPhone is about 2 years old and I have never had this problem before. Earlier today it died for no reason but when I plugged it in, it turned on with no problem.
Is there anything I can do about this? Also, I am due for a phone upgrade in about 3 weeks. I was planning on getting the 5S. Is there any way that I would be able to get the upgrade several weeks early if my phone is broken?

My phone turned off unexpectedly and it won't turn back on...what to do??

A reset may help: Tap and hold the Home button and the On/Off button at the same time for approximately 10-15 seconds, until the Apple logo reappears. When the logo appears release both buttons and await restart.

  • IPod turns off for no reason...

I just got my replacement iPod today. I updated it successfully but when I try to play it, it stops, shows the Apple logo and takes me back to the main menu. I also noticed that the sound quality lowers just before it resets. I thought it was a problem with the headphone input port, but it does the same thing when nothing is plugged in.

  • Hey everyone I recently bought a iPod touch 5gen and the battery dosent fully charge I leave it on the charger for 2 to 3 hrs and it remains at 40 sometimes 20 percent what can it be and how can I fix it?

I recently bought a new iPod 5gen and the iPod dosent hold it's charge it stays at 40 sometimes 20 percent half an hr goes by and it says it's fully charged once I unplug it it says it has 20 percent what can I do to fix it or what can I do about it?

    - See:
    iPod touch: Hardware troubleshooting
    - Try another cable. Some 5G iPods were shipped with Lightning cable that were either initially defective or failed after short use.
    - Try another charging source
    - Inspect the dock connector on the iPod for bent or missing contacts, foreign material, corroded contacts, broken, missing or cracked plastic.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Why does my A55 camera shut off after only a few shots, and the battery is fully charged?

I have a 3 year old A55 camera.  It has performed without problems, until now.  When I use a fully charged battery, the camera will shut down after about 10 shots.  It will not power back up until I put in another fully charged battery.  My extended warranty expired in March, but I would think that Sony should fix this known issue, because I see it as a rampant problem (from my research online). The camera has never been dropped or damaged. Can you provide me with solutions? Thanks,David Carlos425 773 2584

Unlike the rest of Sony's A-Mount cameras, the A55 and A33 used the relatively anemic NP-FW50, the same battery used in all Sony's E-Mount bodies. I think that it's probable that, as all rechargeable batteries will do, yours have reached the end of their useful lives, and can't hold a charge. Have you tried a new battery?

  • My iPod touch won't turn off. I tried and the turn off slide button in stuck in the of position, but it's still not turning off. It's been a few days please help!!!!

My white 4th generation iPod touchs turn of slide button is stuck on off but my iPod won't turn off for some reason and it only shuts off when the battery dies. It's been stuck like this for some time. Please please please help!!!!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely.  Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

  • 8820 Turns off for no reason

My 8820 turns off for no reason. The only way I can get it to turn back on is by taking the battery out.  Has anyone else encountered this problem?  What did you do?

I think a wipe with JL-cmder with a reloading the OS fresh would be in order...
