My iPod updated and music was lost. Help.!
I plugged my iPod in my computer and left it to "charge" for the day I get back and my iPod was factory reset. *** happened. Al my music was lost. Everything. Is there a way I can get it back?
Just resync it from your iTunes ibrary.

Did you try to reset by holding the sleep and home button until the Apple logo comes back again?

If iCloud Backup is set to Off in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, it means that your iPod will not automatically back up to iCloud, but will automatically back up to your computer when you sync. The only way you would risk losing data is if you have never synced with iTunes before. If that's the case, you have to take special precautions to avoid losing data, as outlined in this user tip: https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3141.

IF you set up the find my ipod feature on the ipod itself and it is on and it is connected to wi-fi, then you may be able to get an approximate street address using icloud.com.

Ipod updates and im on a different comp
i plugged the ipod into the computer and then there was an update for the software on the ipod. i let the software on the ipod update and then it took all of the songs off of the ipod to make way for the new software. now the songs that i had on the ipod were on a different computer and that computer is not working anymore and i wasnt able to transfer the music to the new computer. can anyone help me figure this out. thank you for your time.
If you installed the new software on your iPod, that (as I believe it warns you) erases everything on your iPod. Once that's done the iPod is blank; no recovery of content is possible. If you can't get the tracks off of your old computer by any means, then you're stuck and will have to reimport your CDs and restore any purchased content from your backups (you did make backups of your iTunes purchases, I hope).
But did the hard drive in the old computer fail? If not you should be able to remove the hard drive, mount it in an external case, and connect it to your new computer. You should then be able get the tracks into iTunes and then onto your iPod. -

I have a library of around 1000 songs on my iTunes, I recently synced my phone and all was lost, my partner has the same songs on hers with a different sign in, but not backed up anywhere, any suggestion on how I can store her tunes in my account ??? Then sync them to mine? When I sign her phone into her account I get a message warning that if I sync the dogs on her phone will be replaced by the ones in the library! Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing. It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone. I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.

The power went out and when it returned the network name and password was lost. I can see the network in my connections and connect to it. How do I get it back to the orginal name and password? I have an HP laptop.
Chances are, there was a signficant power surge or voltage fluctuation just before the power went out. This type of thing can cause the AirPort Extreme to reset back to default settings.
If this occurs, your only option is re-configure the device again, just as you did originally.
In order to improve your chances this next time this happens, (especially if you live in an area where thunderstorms are severe), a good quality surge suppressor / voltage limiting power strip will really help, and may save you the entire device or a nearby computer next time something like this occurs. -

I have been having some issues with backup and sync for the past week or two with my iPod Touch. I am being told by iTunes that it cannot sync with my iPod because the connection was lost. I tried a different cable and still no luck.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
