My thought is to check the current IP of the server, as your smb.conf has the line interfaces = 192.168.1.109 which means samba will only listen on that interface for requests. If the IP of the server has changed, that would explain why samba isn't working.

My Ipod Shuffle used to appear, now it doesn't?

I have a laptop, with Windows XP. I downloaded ITunes 7.1.1.5 and installed it on my laptop. Now when I attached my ipod shuffle the first couple of times it would pop up on the side tool bar, now when I load itunes, it doesn't pop up. I tried changing USB ports on my laptop. I tried restarting my computer. I tried flipping the power switch on and off. I even tried un-installing itunes and re-installing it. Still, nothing. I have some new songs I wanna add to my ipod. I turned it on and plugged my head phones into the shuffle, all the songs play fine. I just don't know what happened. Please, someone help.

Anyway you'll probably first wanna try doing the 5Rs ( http://www.apple.com/support/ipod/five_rs/ ). This probably won't help much though since it is not showing up at all in iTunes. If it also is not appear in My Computer than it might have some serious hardware problems.
What you should do if the 5Rs don't work is try to restore your iPod using the iPod reset utility ( http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303979 ) This should restore your iPod to factory condition.
If this doesn't work, try enabling hidden folders through the folders icon in control panel. Then access your ipod through my computer, and delete the folders there. Reset,and try connecting again.

First of all, I fell in love with apple products when I received an iPod for Christmas last year, loved it so much, i have turned around and bought an iMac G5 lol. Here is my dilema: I have been using my iPod w/ Windows, but now I want to quit using Windows, and use same iPod (with all its accumulated music) on my iMac. I made the mistake of connecting my iPod to the Mac it erased everything on my iPod (thank goodness I kept my Windows machine with the back ups) ... what do you suggest to transfer my music? Is there a way to use the iPod or do I have to buy 3rd party software as my brother has suggested ... thank you for your help! Cheers

First of all, I want to thank you for your tip in the right direction; my iPod is now fully functioning with my iMac. This, however, is not the complete tale. I went to the document you referred, and began following the directions step for step. I got to a point where I was copying my iTunes folder onto my iPod when I encountered my first problem. Midway through the copy, I got an error to the effect of "cyclical redundency error," or something to that effect. Windows aborted the transfer and I was left scratching my head. To make matters worse, my iPod would no longer connect to either iTunes or the PC, it would just be in a constant state of "Do Not Disconnect." My windows explorer would show "e:/" was a removable drive, however it said it now needed to be formatted. I thought, "this is wicked annoying, but ok, lets use the iPod updater." No dice. It continued in its "Do Not Disconnect" state indefinetly. I tried resetting, etc., same ends. I tried formatting by totally removing iTunes, then the iPod program itself. The I tried reinstalling the iPod program as if it was the first time (remember, all you Windows users, when you first set the iPod up for use with Windows, you must format it), still that endless "Do Not Disconnect" (and if you put your ear to the iPod, you heard what I would call "click, click, whhrrr" over and over). Finally, I had it. I did a comand line format (c:\format e:) and that worked to reformat it. Then, I basically had an iPod in its "new" state and followed the above link tit for tat, no issues this time. All told, 5+ hours just so I could use my existing iPod ... I'd like to blame Windows for this one, but who knows.
None the less, it seems the ends justify the means in this case; so once again, thank you, everyone, for all your help.

Updated my ipod to ios5,and now it doesn't play most of my songs.

I updated my iPod touch 4g to iOS5,and it turned to be much slower than before and the most wired thing is that now it doesn't play most of my songs!
Play lists are useless now since if I click one of them and choose some songs,my ipod stops at the screen of what's "now playing" and stay silent,sometimes it jumped to another song!Probably not the problem linked to my apps 'course I made sure others apps tured off.And I still have half of the space free in this Touch.Same problems also jumped out the next time I turn it on.
btw,iOS5 ***** when it's on ipod touch.Making it like an old machine and,whithout WiFi, most of the new functions and new apps are just white elephants.
Can anyone tell me is this just what happening on my iPod touch or there are many people waiting for Apple to fix these bugs just like I am?
Or maybe someone who can help me solve this problem.

Thanks for starting this topic. Upgraded my third gen Touch to IOS 5.0, and now the iPod Music App refuses to play some songs, skips over others, and stops in the middle of a playlist, whether it's shuffled or not. There doesn't appear to be any commonality in the songs that fall victim.

IPod use to connect to my wifi but not will not?

I have had my ipod for about a year now and the wifi has worked up until yesterday. Yesterday morning it was working fine and then just stopped. I tried rejoining my network but it continued to say "Unable to join the network" even after I put the correct password in. Im not sure if it works on other Networks because there are none around me but the wifi and internet works on both of our home laptops. I have reset my wifi settings, reset the router, and even called the cable company to reset our internet but nothing works. Any idea on how I can fix this?

Even though the iPod shows as been connected, it might not have actually received a valid IP address via DHCP from your Wi-Fi access point or router. Head to Settings -> Wi-Fi and tap the > next to the network you are connected. If 169.xxx.xxx.xxx is listed for an IP Address, then your iPod did not receive a valid IP address. To correct this you can reboot your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds.
It wouldn't hurt to also reset your iPod. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

Why can't I scroll in the bookmarks drop-down menu? It used to scroll, now it doesn't.

I have a large number of bookmarks, and the ones I use most frequently are at the top and bottom of the list. There use to be a scrollbar on the side. Now it's gone.

I pluged my ipod into speakers and now it doesn't work Help!

I only have had it for couple of weeks and i plug it into my speakers that i use for my computer and it plays fine. I use it as an alarm and then the next morning it wakes me up but i can't get it to turn on after that. Help please.

Connect Pro X Connect Now

I'm developing an application to use a Acorbat Connect Pro 7.5 but I want a metting interface like a Connect Now. I want that when the presenter share his screen the some pods of the metting stays on the screen, like it happening on Connect Now.
There is a way to use the connect now add-in insted of connect pro add-in?
Or there is any other way to do that?

You need to buy a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD, and if your computer has less than 1GB RAM, enough RAM to bring it to that number. This can be done on all Intel Macs running 10.4 or 10.5.

Try the following:
Restart your WiFi router by removing power to it for 30 seconds.
On your iPod Touch use Settings > General > Reset > Reset network settings.
If this does not work test your iPod on some other networks, e.g., Starbucks, etc. If it doesn't work there it may have developed a hardware problem.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
