My ipod want play a film, it stopped half way, My ipod want play a film, it stopped half way

Hi there
I play any films on my ipod but it stops play half way and goes off. It seems the battery caused the device to switched off. Music is great to listen too but, do I need to replace the battery? And how much will cost to replace from the apple shop?

2 of my movies are no longer working in my iTunes or on my iPod Touch, One doesn't play at all and the other gets to about 29:00 than stops working and I don't want to buy them again. Then also when I added a non-iTunes movie and tried to have iTunes make an iPod/IPhone version it gave me error -4. What's happening to my movies?

I also have to add that the right earbud only doesn't work on my phone while i'm listening to music. If I'm face timing it's okay. what the heck.

  • My iPod has a mind of its own. When it doesn't want to play, it stops.

I am on my 2nd iPod in 5 months. The first was replaced b/c of defective video. No prob. The replacement has been plagued with frequent but random episodes of simply pausing. The iPod will be playing just fine and dandy, at perfect rest on the table or bed or at my desk at work, when all of a sudden it just stops playing, and I have to un-pause it so that it starts playing again. How often does this occur? It is completely unpredictable, completely random, without neither rhyme nor reason. Sometimes it will pause, I'll start it again only to have it pause a couple of seconds later. Sometimes I go through this routine two or three times in a row within a matter of 15 seconds. Sometimes it only pauses once per day. Sometimes it pauses 5, 10, maybe 15 times a day. Conversely, some days it never pauses.
I sent the iPod in after putting up with extreme inconvenience but only after I performed everything known to resolve such issues: restoring, updating, testing out particular songs, changing out headsets frequently and other troubleshooting exercises ad nauseam. I received the iPod back with the indication that "no problems were found," and the replacement unit I sent in was sent back to me. The only thing Apple Support did was to restore it, which I have already done twice. The darn thing still does exactly what it has been doing... pausing at will as often as it pretty well pleases.
I'm getting quite ill with this thing, and it doesn't help that they sent the original one back (again, my replacement iPod was sent back). I quite understand why the support team indicated that it passed diagnostics, but it is only because the device chose not to act up when they had it in their possession. It is perfectly logical that it worked flawlessly while they were testing it, only to start freaking out once it arrived back home. This scenario is liken unto the one in which you take your car to the mechanic b/c it's not working properly. It works when they have it in their shop... works as designed, but when you get it home (or drive it down the road) it starts doing the same thing. It's a gremlin that seems to be quite elusive.
I'm posting this in hopes that others have experienced the same thing, and I can learn from their experience. I'll send this thing again, but if the device still continues to operate, in Apple Support's words, "within Apple's specifications for acceptable performance, usability and/or functionality...", I'll raise this issue to ANYONE who will listen. I purchased the warranty and I would expect that Apple stand behind it, or what good is a warranty if it will not be upheld?

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • I wanted to update my ipod since the new version was out so i did so and then it suddenly stopped updating and when i clicked the play/pause and restart button, a blue screen appeared. what should i do?

my ipod wont work at all..... the screen is blue!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iPod fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • In iTunes, is there any way to play one song at at time and have the song stop at its end.  I want to play guitar with a track and have that track stop playing rather than going to the next song.

I want to play a single song in iTunes on my ipad and have the track stop when the song finishes, rather than itunes playing the next track.  I play guitar with the track and need iTunes to stop at the end of the song.
I have worked around this issue by creating a separate play list for each song, then inserting the song into the play list.  I would like to find a more straight forward solution that would eliminate this extra step.  On my PC, I use QuickTime to bring up an individual song and then can play one track at a time.
    Thanks!

On the IPod if the shuffle icon is colored blue it is ON, if it is colored white it is OFF. This control is global, if it is ON any album or list will be shuffled.

  • IPOD CLASSIC STOPS PLAYING MOVIE HALF WAY

I don't use my iPod much for videos because it's too tiny, but I have this series of university lectures available on the web -- no copyright issues -- which I need to watch. Each one is about 1.5 hours long. The player stops after the first 20-28 mins and goes back to the list. That happens with most files.
The files play perfectly on iTunes on the computer. Only on the iPod I have this problem. File format is mp4. Windows.
I tried different videos, just to make sure there wasn't anything the particular files. I downloaded documentaries from the web -- purposefully copyright-free to ensure mass distribution -- and the same thing happens.
    Any suggestions?

Since the files appear to be okay (they played correctly in their entirety in iTunes), then the issue is with the iPod Classic. The first thing I would try to do is to simply reset the iPod.  To do this, press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
It might also help to remove these videos from your device by configuring your iPod to longer these videos via iTunes and your iPod's Movies tab.  Then resync them back over to your device.
If all else fails, you'll want to try and restore the device.  This process, wipes all content from the device, resets all settings back to their defaults, and reloads a fresh copy of the iPod's software onto the device.  This would eliminate any possibility of corrupted data or a software glitch.

  • IPod stops after playing 1 podcast

I bought my iPod Nano mainly to play podcasts that I subscribe to thru iTunes. With 1 exception, this combination has worked beautifully. I like that every time I sync, the podcasts that I listened to gets removed and replaced with new podcasts downloaded by iTunes.
Here is the exception. When there are multiple episodes of a podcast, lets say "The Ed Schultz Show", Nano stops playing after each podcast and returns to the main menu! How do I get it to cycle thru all of the unplayed episodes before stopping and returning to the main menu? I picked this podcast because each daily podcast is broken up into small segments instead of one big podcast.
This may be a futher irritation - the episodes are listed in most recent first so I have to start at the bottom and work my way up. This is inconsequential at the moment since I have to select and play each episode singly but may become an irritation IF there is a way to make it play all episodes as I am trying to make it do. I want it to play chronologically as intended.
One possible solution I read about was to put the podcast in a (smart)playlist. However I can see a potential problem here. On iTunes, I have the podcast setting to delete all unplayed episodes of a podcast. However, since I only listen to the podcasts on the Nano, not in iTunes, it seems to me that iTunes thinks that none of the episodes have been played since all of the episodes are still there. So if I create a playlist to hold the podcasts (in hopes of getting them to play continuously), I have a feeling that one of the best features of the iPod/iTunes in playing podcasts would be defeated, i.e. automatic removal of all played episodes!
Any comment/advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Howdy,
I haven't replied back to this post yet until now, but I think I might have figured out what was causing the problem for me (or at least reproduced the problem reliably).
I have noticed that the problem is only present when I manually delete all individual podcast episodes from a particular podcast but leave the podcast title heading on my iPod.
If I leave at least one episode under each podcast title heading, the iPod behaves normally.

  • Non-Apple content stops playing at 1-minute, 23-seconds on iPod(s)

For some reason my iPod(s) only seamlessly play through my imported music or Apple purchased files. For example, I use cd Baby, Amazon, and eMusic, as well as iTunes for downloading music and everything is played through my default player (iTunes); however, when I try to listen to my iPod via headphones or wirelessly, any non-Apple content stops playing at 1:23--everytime.  So, if I were in the shower and listening to my iPod via one of my wireless bluetooth speakers and I forget the source of where it came from (Apple vs. non-Apple) then I could be without music.  I cannot figure out why my iPod (I have several iPods and one is brand new) always wants to stop at 1-minute, 23-seconds for any content not purchased from Apple.
As you can imagine, this becomes quite a mess when listening to a playlist.  As a result, I find myself having to skip to the next song quite a bit now. Anyone else have this issue or have a suggestion?
Wasn't an issue until iTunes 10 and later.
    Thanks.

Sounds to me like it needs to go back to Apple again. Frustrating I know.
I suppose you could try a format of the iPod in Windows. A full format does a check and remap of bad sectors on the iPod hard drive, and you would need to restore the iPod as normal (using the iPod updater) afterward.
First, put the iPod into forced disk mode.
See: How to put the iPod into disk mode.
On your PC, go "my computer" and right click on the iPod, then choose "format". Ensure the settings are at "default" and that "quick format" is not checked. Now select "format". It will take a while, but when that's finished, restore the iPod using the updater.
To exit forced disk mode, reset the iPod.

  • How do i get itunes or any other program for ipod to play one song and then stop instead of contiuing playing. I need it to be in the same playlist and ready to play the next song when I press play?

how do i get itunes or any other program for ipod to play one song and then stop instead of contiuing playing. I need it to be in the same playlist and ready to play the next song when I press play?

Good luck.  I tried to do this to cue sound effects for a theater, and never found anything.  iTunes will definitely *not* do this, nor was I able to find any player that would play one song at a time in a single playlist.
In my case, I ended up using AutoHotkey to tie individual tracks to the keys on an external keypad. This was an excellent solution for my problem, but I don't think AHK runs on Macs.
One workaround is to make a folder, and fill it with *shortcuts* to the songs you want (ie, the actual files).  You can change the names to start with numbers to get them in the right order.  Then if you double-click on one it will play just that song.  You'll still have to double-click on each song.
Might be a good time to learn AppleScript   It would  also be pretty easy to write a Java app to do this.

  • Ipod stops playing after each podcast

When I play music, each song plays one after the other like you expect. When I play my podcasts after each one the ipod stops and goes back to menu screen. How do I get it to play the podcasts one after the other like songs? Is this a setup item I missed? Thanks for any help.

The iPod does not use folders like you do in Windows or Mac OS. They are invisible to the user.
You are not explaining yourself very well or you have never used an iPod.
I don't understand how using folders will make it easier than it already is.
If everything is in folders and you do not use playlists, then you have to move everything around into folders to listen to specific music.
I never said playlists were cumbersome but they are sometimes ineffective. Some times you don't want a certain rating or a certain grouping but maybe you just want to listen to one album in order or one podcast.
So select that album or that one podcast and press play.
It's much easier to find that podcast or album by name then it is to scroll through thousands of entries to find the starting title of the group.
Why don't you do it this way now?
    I go to
Music -> Albums -> pick one and play
Music -> Podcasts -> pick one and play
That's what the problem was last week I would go to artists choose the artist then the album and then it would play one song and skip to the top menu.
That seems to have been a glitch.
I go to Music -> Artist -> Album and press play. It plays the entire album with all the songs in album in order.
It did it for every album and every song I chose every day of the trip a couple weeks ago and yes they all have there check boxes selected in iTunes.
The check box is used only if you want to use Update only checked songs in iTunes prefs -> iPod. Once the songs are on the iPod, this option has nothing to do with th eiPod.

  • When I play my Ipod shuffle 3rd gen there's a moment when I start hearing interference until it stops playing, when I turn it off and on again it starts playing from the first song all over again, and once it sounded like the music was slowing down.

My Ipod shuffle 3rd gen starts playing songs with some kind of interference until it stops playing, when I turn it off and on again it starts playing from the first song all over again, and once it sounded like the music was slowing down.  First I thought it was the earphones, but I exchanged them for newer ones and so far its the same

You may want to do a Restore on the shuffle in iTunes.  The Restore button is on the shuffle's Summary screen in iTunes.  This will erase the shuffle, re-install its software, and set it to default settings.  If it's a software or data corruption glitch, the Restore should fix it.  After the Restore, reload or resync your songs, and try it again.  As a test, you may want to initially select a small number of songs to put back on the shuffle.
