My ipod was stolen, just bought a new one, trying to download to my new computer using my old account. I have lots of bought music on old account, but because my old ipod isnt registered to me new computer, I cant. Solutions?

My ipod was stole. When i tried to register my new ipod to this account it alloud it, but when I tried to download my old music to the new computer it says i cant because i didnt approve it, (along those lines.) Because my old ipod was stolen I cant approve it to get my old music. Does this mean i purchased all those songs just to lose then? there has to be a way to get to download my songs, Im just not sure how. Any answers?

For anyone with the same question, in itunes its at the topleft under store, push the authorize this computer section. yes it was that easy.

    is this possible?
    Yes.
Open iTunes on the computer you used to sync the iPod and select Preferences… from the iTunes menu.
Select the Devices pane. Position the cursor over any of its backups. The iPod's serial number will appear in a popup window.

  • HT1386 My computer broke and I've since gotten a new one. I don't know how to sync my phone to iTunes without losing all my music.  How do I get my old iTunes back on a new computer?

I studied abroad and my computer broke during the trip.  I eventually got another computer after I came home.  I can no longer access iTunes on that computer, but I still have all my music/photos/apps on my iPhone.  But if I try to sync my phone to the newly downloaded iTunes on this new computer, it wants to erase everything.  Is there a way I can have all my music back on iTunes without losing it off my phone?  My phone is the only place I have it!

If it's all purchased content, it's really simple. If not, then not so simple.

If they aren't purchased from iTunes, then you are going to have to find them and download them onto your computer and back into your iTunes library.
You can turn off photo syncing, and import the ones from your phone onto your computer.

  • My ipod was stolen at school how do I track it?

My ipod was stolen how do I trck it this ***** and my parents are angry help!!

If you had already set up the FindMyiPod feature and wifi is on see:
Apple - iPod touch - Find your misplaced iPod touch.
Otherwise you will have to find it the old fashioned way. Also, the Find featur can easly be defeated by turing the iPod off or restring it.
Apple will not help with anything.

Report it to the police and change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

My computer died and my ipod was stolen.  Now I have an iphone 4 and want to get to my library.  Any ideas?

It will only be where you put it.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion..
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can redownload some purchases in some countries:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

did you turn 'find my mac' ON your MBA BEFORE your it was stolen? if not, you will not be able to do anything to the stolen MBA
if you did turn it on before it was stolen, yes it will erase everything on the MBA

As provided, you can try contacting itunes support and asking for an exception.  They are under no obligation to allow this, but you can try:

  • Can I enable location services from my computer???? My Ipod was stolen

My Ipod was stolen and the location services were turned off. Is there any way I can turn them back on from my computer????

If you set up the Find My iPod service (which is different from Location Services) prior to the iPod going missing, then there is a chance that can be tracked, though it depends on a number of factors (the iPod is turned on, connected to a WiFi network, and has not had the Find My iPod service disabled or the iPod been completely restored).
If you did not set up Find My iPod, then there is no way to track it. Contact the police and change any passwords for any online accounts you may have used from your iPod (the iTunes Store, for instance).
    Regards.

  • My iPod was stolen and now I can't access my iTunes account

My iPod was stolen and within half an hour my iTunes account was locked from an attempted hack.
I reset all the passwords and have since gotten a new iPod but anytime I try to login to my account everything freezes. I can access it online and on this forum, obviously, but my laptop running windows7 freezes instantly and my desktop computer running windows XP freezes as soon as I try to go to the store.
How do I fix this? It happens on both the computers I had authorized for that iPod and I'm not sure what to do.
Do I need to delete my account and start over? If so how would I do that? I've been told it is extremely difficult and usually results in the loss of use of iTunes on any computers you had authorized before.
At this point I don't even care about the money I'll lose on my old account I just want my music back.
