- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order

You report it the the police and give then the serial number. All they really do is know to whom to return it to if it is recovered.

No option to establish password on find iPod app because it says it has been reset to existing passcode. I didn't have a passcode! Any way to get around this and set remotely?? Try to wipe it remotely as long as you can still do that. And change all of your passwords for mail etc that were used on the device.

So, I was downloading Mountian Lion to my mac.... It was taking a while but I thought possibly that was normal. When I checked back, Mountain Lion was gone, not even downloading anymore and I thought to myself, It couldn't be downloaded already. So I went to the app store and it now says an error has occured... I have no idea what to do now...... Can someone help please?

Note: Creating a new Apple ID wont help.. you must use the same Apple ID as you used to purchase LPX in the first place to download it...
However;
Several people have reported a similar issue over the last few days.. For most, trying again the next day worked.. Seems like Apple has been doing some work on their servers... and this has temporarily caused issues when trying to download an app...
If this doesn't resolve itself...then as i said, contact Apple directly. -

When i tried to register my new ipod to this account it alloud it, but when I tried to download my old music to the new computer it says i cant because i didnt approve it, (along those lines.) Because my old ipod was stolen I cant approve it to get my old music. Does this mean i purchased all those songs just to lose then? there has to be a way to get to download my songs, Im just not sure how. Any answers?
For anyone with the same question, in itunes its at the topleft under store, push the authorize this computer section. yes it was that easy.

Every time I try to download a free app or even upgrade any of my apps for free it tells me to put my Apple ID I do that then it say there a billing problem with previous purchases. So I click continue and put in my debit card information correctly but still won't work it always declines it and says he's different payment method. what can I do it's been like that for 3 months that's the only card I have.

Is there a way to find out the Apple ID that it was registered to? I have already checked find my iPod and it shows my iPod is offline. I have already filed a police report.
No, sorry, there is no way you can get that information. The police perhaps could, but it would probably require a court order and it's unlikely the police will go to those lengths unless they have reason to believe that this theft was not an isolated instance and hence worth more of their time than the single theft of an iPod.
Even if they got the ID, it may well just be yours. Apple's registration database often contains such errors; I get the same message for some of my devices when I know I registered them to my Apple ID and the devices are all still right here.

My ipod was stolen, can I find out what the serial number of it is, based on looking at a connection history in my itunes? How would I do this? I didn't register it. I think I found the guy selling it, just looking to confirm the serial number and I'll make a phone call to the police.

What country are you in ? As long as they are still available in the store then apps can be re-downloaded from the store for free, and in a number of countries music can also be re-downloaded : re-downloading.
