  • My ipod will no longer sync to my itunes. Shows up but will not sync when i add music

When i add music to my 5th gen ipod it will no longer sync in itunes. It shows up in itunes, but when i add mysic it comes up with an error number (13019). The songs show under music on my ipod, but when i disconnect it theyre not on there for me to listen to. HELP!!!

easiest way i have found to resolve the issue is go into itunes while phone is plugged in. you will have a list of tabs across, summery, info, ringtones, music. select music and where it displays sync music unselect that and hit apply in the bottom right (dont worry your music should be saved on the computer) once the sync is complete re check the music sync option. ive noticed this to work 95% of the time......hope this helps

  • Ipod will no longer sync to Itunes ??

My Ipod which Ive had for about 6 months has recently decided it will no longer sync to my Itunes so I cannot update the music. It recognises it is there and says it is syncing then comes up with the message 'The Ipod cannot be synced. An unknown error occured (13019)'
Any help would be greatly appreciated as Im going travelling next week and am fed up of listening to the same music!

    Hello Amoebi,
    And welcome to Apple Discussions!
Do you sync any other iPods with your iTunes library? I ask, because usually this error is only seen on iPod Touches and iPhones. Here is the Apple support document related to it.

  • IPod will no longer sync podcasts from iTunes store

Both our iPod and iPod Nano will no longer sync podcasts. We have downloaded new music, which will sync, but not the new podcasts from the iTunes store. iTunes indicates that it is syncing (which takes about 1 second) but the podcasts are not synced.
We have deleted all the existing podcasts and downloaded a single new one, with no change in the problem. We have tried both iPods and the result is the same.
We are running ESET NOD32 version 3.0 for Anti-Virus. We have checked with ESET and performed the exceptions that are known to cause problems with iTunes, and there has been no change, except that iTunes no longer freezes, which it previously did.
Hopefully someone out there can help us.

  • IPod will no longer sync with iTunes

I started a thread before about how I could no longer sync the e-books I added to my iTunes account to my iPod touch. I'd found a workaround by e-mailing the books to myself and then opening them in iBooks on my iPod.
Now however I'm having the same issue with ALL THE CONTENT in my iTunes account. It still recognizes my device. I HAVE updated iTunes and my iOS (my iPod touch is 4th generation so I don't have/can't get iOS 7). I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes altogether. I have made sure the right boxes are clicked before syncing. It will go through the sync but the part where it says it is adding the files and shows them adding individually never happens. It just jumps to step 4 finishing and then when I check it never appears on my iPod. This is frustrating. What point is having an iPod if I can't USE it? It's basically a $200 paper weight. And YES I'm using the same apple ID, the same computer, etc. I've always used and I never had any problems before until a few months ago. It just stopped working. I've done most of the things suggested in all the other support threads I've read about similar issues and nothing has worked. Obviously lots of people are having this issue but from what I can tell the suggestions people are offering don't seem to help them.
So I guess I'm just putting this out there in the hopes that someone has a new idea to offer that will actually work? If not, does anybody wanna buy a 4th generation iPod touch?

I did restore from back-up as well. And I had thought of restoring my iPod to factory settings however...I just got my mother-in-law's old iPhone 3GS. Upon getting it from her I restored it to factory settings. After having the problems tonight syncing my iPod to iTunes I tried syncing the iPhone. It started out fine, showing it as a new device and setting it up. It shows both devices on my iTunes and then when I went to sync it I got the error message that none of the songs could be copied from my iTunes because they could not be found. But they all clearly show up in my iTunes. I had done this before when I was having the issue with my books and then I had deleted them all from iTunes and readded a few that I wanted to put on my iPod and it still wouldn't sync them. So I really don't want to take absolutely everything off my iPod and restore it to factory only to be unable to add anything from my iTunes ever again as is the case with the iPhone.

  • HT1386 my iphone 5s and my ipod will no longer sync to my computer

I tried with my ipod 4 and then plugged in my iphone 5s to sync and neither will work.. They do not even show up in itune to allow me to see what is on them.  I am not sure what is wrong.  I dont have my ipad with me so I cannot check that.
any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated..

  • Third Generation iPod will no longer update music

After updating to iTunes 7 and finding that this meant i could no longer connect my ipod i found instructions on how to downgrade back to iTunes 6. many people who were experiencing the same problems found that this worked however it has not done so for me. although iTunes recognises my iPod, when i try to put my music onto it, it regularly freezes and wipes my ipod. i have even tried downloading my music album by album and it doesnt seem to matter how few songs i attempt to put on at any one time it still freezes. any suggestions as to how to fix this?

The Computer did recognise it and said it had malfunctioned, it is still saying that now. iTunes 7 did recognise that an ipod was connected but said to restore it to factory settings, however when i clicked ok it wood disconnect my ipod from iTunes.

  • IPhone 4 will no longer sync music, hangs indefinitely

I hooked up my iPhone 4 the other night to my computer to update it to the new iOS version 4.3.1. The entire time my iTunes would continually freeze and I would have to force quit it. Once I finally got it to stabilize I began to install the update with seemingly no problem. Then out of no where my phone slipped into recovery mode and it told me to restore it so that it could sync with iTunes. When I tried to restore it I received an error code 9 and iTunes informed me that a restore could not be completed. I ended up having to take it to a friend's house and restore on his iTunes without a hitch. I then came home and restored a back up with no trouble at all and had 4.3.1 on my phone. All was well until I realized no music synced.
Now when I try to sync music, I press the sync button and all goes well to begin with. The back up proceeds as normal. It transfers an app purchase that needs to be made and then the problem starts when it hits the music step. It begins syncing a song and then instantly iTunes freezes. The spinning arrows next to the device name stop and no progress is made whatsoever. I lose any kind of control over iTunes. In order to get it back I have to force quit it and restart it or manually disconnect my iPhone from the computer which is as we all know not healthy for it. Cancelling the sync from the phone does nothing at first but then after 15 minutes or so iTunes frees up again but never actually finishes the sync. It's stuck finishing it indefinitely. (In the time it took me to type all of this out and check it for errors it is still finishing indefinitely)
    I have tried:
    1) Restarting Computer
    2) Updating iTunes to the newest version
    3) Completely uninstalling and reinstalling all components of iTunes and Quicktime according to instructions from an article on Apple's support pages.
    4) Restoring the phone to a back up again to fix any possible corruption
    5) Checking only one song and trying to sync it to see if it was an quantity issue
    6) Manually syncing music
and probably others. Nothing seems to be working. I am unsure if it is an issue with the phone or with the computer and iTunes. I have not tried a complete just all out restore with no back up because I am hesitant to lose all my contacts, SMS messages, and pictures with their saved locations.
I'm out of ideas here so any support from you guys would be much appreciated. If this doesn't work I guess it's a $30 phone call to Apple Support.
    Thanks in advance,
    HSZ

Standard steps from the manual are to restart, reset, restore.  which of those have you done?

  • IPhoto will no longer open. Any suggestions?

I downloaded Yosemite, but am now unable to open iPhoto and am receiving the message "The version of iPhoto installed on this Mac is not compatible with OS X Yosemite. Download the latest version for free from the Mac App Store.” I am almost positive that doing this update will cause me to lose the photos I have. Any suggestions on what to do?

No, an update will not cause you to lose photos. This is the umpteenth version of iPhoto. If upgrading caused people who lose photos, who on earth would upgrade ever?
Before upgrading anything you should have an up-to-date back up.
    Most Simple Back Up:
Drag the iPhoto Library from your Pictures Folder to another Disk. This will make a copy on that disk.
Slightly more complex: Use an app that will do incremental back ups. This is a very good way to work. The first time you run the back up the app will make a complete copy of the Library. Thereafter it will update the back up with the changes you have made. That makes subsequent back ups much faster. Many of these apps also have scheduling capabilities: So set it up and it will do the back up automatically.
Example of such apps: Chronosync - but there are many others. Search on MacUpdate or the App Store

  • I have a 2nd gen ipod touch. Recently I updated the OS from original second gen to the latest available which is software 4.2.1. Since doing this the ipod will no longer play music, videos, or stream online content. Any ideas how to fix it please?

I have tried restoring factory settings and loading the preferences I saved before updating the OS.
Neither of these methods have any effect.
The ipod also seemingly prevents you from restarting the ipod using the earlier OS software when resorting from recovery mode.
    Any other ideas?
    Cheers
    Dan

    - Downgrading the iOS is not supported by Apple.
    - When restoring to factory defaults/new iPod fails to resolve a problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment a the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • IPod will no longer play music!!!

I have the 30 gigabyte black iPod color. Yesterday, it stopped playing music out of the earphone jack and through the hookup on the bottom. No music comes out at all! I really don't have any other information, I restored it today because I thought maybe I accidentally messed with the settings, but that did not solve the problem. Please help me, thanks in advance

I have the exact same iPod and the same exact problem. I bought mine in the summer of 2006 and it died about 2 weeks ago. I have never dropped it but I do play it in the car all the time. I leave it in the car in the summer so I wonder if the heat go to it.
The screen still works, it will still sync with my pc (itunes) and it still "clicks" when I scroll through menu options. I paid something like $350 for it 2 years ago and I am really upset that it looks like I have to go and spend another $250 for a new one. I reset it as well with no luck.
I wish it had a diagnostic utility of some sort.
