My iPod will not register on my computer, but it will on other computers.

I have a Windows XP and everything else works in my USB ports but my iPod. My iPod works in other computers just not mine.

Since yours is a old PC, the iPod will run into timeouts,
Re-install iTunes, it may update the iPod device driver.
Try connecting the iPod to a USB 2.0 port at the back of your PC.
Disconnect all other USB devices, and dont use any USB hubs
Disconnect from the Internet
Stop the Antivirus software

IPod is not recognized by my computer, but it will charge

I looked through the forums but everyone seems to have trouble connecting their iPod AND charging it. I can plug mine into my iMac and it starts charging, but it does not show up as a disk or in iTunes. This is a brand new iPod (my last one iPod's HD died). The only thing I can think is that maybe it is the firewire cord, because someone said different pins are used for charging and transferring data. I've tried all the steps that Apple says, but I can't restore obviously.
Any help out there?

As mentioned in this article, reinstalling iTunes will not delete your music and apps, but backing up is always a good idea.
iTunes Store purchases or songs imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes. While it is highly unlikely that you will lose any contents of your iTunes Library when following these steps, it is always a good idea to ensure that your iTunes library is backed up. My ipod is not registering on my computer, how can i fix this?

I have "clicked" something and now my ipod/itunes isn't working properly.
When I connect my ipod, it doesn't register in my drives folder. When I go into itunes, all the songs stored on my ipod are there, but are greyed out. I have tried to upload songs to itunes and this goes onto my itunes player but is not added to the songs already stored on my ipod.
I have done all the usual things, switched the ipod off and on, changed the usb ports, uninstalled and reinstalled itunes, all to no avail.
All help would be greatly appreciated.

We certainly want to make sure you get the most out of the GPS, wplaxico! Was this tested primarily outdoors? When did this begin? Any other recent apps of updates installed when this started?

I had this problem too and my roommate solved it!
Go to 'Settings'
'Music'
Scroll to the bottom and enter your password to log onto your home sharing
Then connect to iTunes and sync!

Help.. brand new Ipod 80gb not being recognised by Computer or itunes

Replaced a ipod mini that was stolen from my house with a brand new 80gb ipod. Plugged it into the same computer that had been used successfully with the mini and the ipod will not be seen by either the computer or itunes. It will charge through the usb post no problem but when you plug it in it originally came up with the windows new hardware wizard, as apple have for some misguided reason stopped supplying CD's, the wizard can not find the correct driver, and fails to install. When Itunes is running nothing appears. I have been through the 5 R's, or should I say 4 r's as the fifth rely's on itunes recognizing the ipod before you can restore, countless time, so please unless you are sure don't ask me to click the hold button on and off yet again.
Plugged the ipod into an old laptop with USB 1.0 ports and the ipod was recognized which would suggest it is my main comp's usb ports that are at fault, but as two previous ipod mini's worked without fault I find this hard to believe. I realize this question is six months old, but just in case this helps someone. My PC suddenly decided not to recognize my IPod. I jumped through all the hoops for 24 hours trying all the suggestions and then just sat and took inventory of everything notable that was different from the last time I had synched it (a year earlier). I'd finally freed myself of Norton and installed Avast and several sites mentioned that as a possibility but no. In the end it was the new HP Officejet Pro 8600 software. I did a custom install and opted for the USB rather than wireless hookup. First off it took my old Canon scanner hostage and choked it into retirement. Then it started fondling Photoshop and searching for images in every file it could access. But the best trick was that it will just not let you synch your IPod for love nor money. Now I am a dinosaur and still use XP but I'm pretty sure the same thing happens with Windows 7. Fortunately, the fix is easy enough ***doink***, yank the printer's USB cable out of your PC and everything is fine.

iPod is recognized by iTunes and computer, but wil not sync songs. I have about 1400 songs and just got 40 more, and before I bought those 40 my iTunes was wiped out. I still had the files so my iTunes was filled up again. Now, when I connect my iPod to the computer it is recognized and then it says "do not disconnect" then after a few seconds it says "ipod update is complete- ok to disconnect". but it did not upload any songs. How can I make it work?

If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
-- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
-- Safely eject the iPod
-- Reboot the PC
Then restore your iPod to factory settings.

HP Officejet Pro 8500A Premium will not print docs from computer, but will print a test page. I continually get a message that the computer cannot communicate with the printer.   Not only will it not print docs, it will not print web pages using IE 11 or Google Chrome.
I've used Print and Scan Doctor, it always reports there are no issues and prints a test page even though I can't print anything else.
Each time I want to print, I must reboot the computer. After reboot I have one chance to print.   This problem started February 15, 2015.
My operating system is Windows 8.1.   I have unintalled the HP software, rebooted, then reinstalled the software:
OJ8500_A910_1315-1.exe
HP Print and Scan Doctor - HPPSdr.exe
HPSupportSolutionsFramework-11.51.0049.msi
All versions were last downloaded on April 4, 2015.
I have a home wireless network (Ubee DDW366 router). All other devices in the house will print to the 8500A printer without issues: 2 Toshiba laptops, 2 Android phones, and 1FireHD.
The desk top is installed with a Netgear Network card I don't know the model, but I had it tested by a PC Tech to confirm that the card is working.   The card and Windows 8.1 were installed on January 3, 2015.
I have run virus scans and malware scans. Each time they show there are no issues with my desktop. What kind of desktop? Specifically made to my specs from store parts. . . no brand name computer. ASUS Motherboard P6X580 Premium. Now I will probably get hacked!
I am at my wits end. And it is frustrating when I need to make a print of something and the system locks up. I often resort to screen printing to a word document to save in order to reboot. . . .but then I lose all sorts of capabilites when I salvage what I needed. Also this is a time consumer.
This printer has served us well for two years and I have expensive cartridges waiting; another two rounds of refills.
Help?
Addendum: I can scan using HP Printer Assistance. I open the HP Printer assistant, it "retrieves" info from the printer, then I select "scan a document or photo" and the printer responds.   I have no trouble with scanning.

I accidentally deleted my whole i tune library. I was able to retrieve the entire library, but all my play lists have dissapeared and iTunes says that my ipod is not synced with this computer. Can i sync my playlists from my ipod to my itunes?

i accadentally deleted my entire library (over 10,000 song) when i was trying to delete an old back up file off an external hard drive. Now when i open I Tunes and connect my ipod, a message says tht my ipod is not synced with this computer. This is the only computer this ipod has ever been synced to, so i don't know how to reconnect the two. I was able to restore all my music to the itunes library, but I lost all my playlists. I spent considerable time creating the playlists and they are stll on my ipod. Can I somehow sync in a way that my ipod can give the computer my play lists?

With your iPod connected to iTunes right->click on it's device name in the left hand pane of iTunes under devices and select Export Playlists.
