Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

  • Charger will not slide fully into ipad any more.

Charger does not slide into IPAD.  Unable to charge.  Tried different charger and it doesn't do all the way in either.  Any suggestions?

The dock connector is probably damaged. Make an appointment at an Apple store and bring the iPad in to be evaluated.

  • Ipod nano 3rd generation , blank screen when attached to computer, ipod will not reset??? any help please?

    Hi there,
I have just purchased a 2nd hand ipod nano 3rd gen.  When I received it the screen was in working order but everything from the previous owner had been wiped.  I attatched to computer and all seemed well, attached it then to itunes and at first it seemed to go ok, however screen then went blank and froze.
I am now unable to restart ipod.  ipos is still being recognised by itunes so I tried to restart ipod whielst attatched to itunes to to try and put into play mode but still no joy, no apple appearing on screen.
    Ipod was fully charged.
Any ideas please as I am not the most technical of people and its slowly driving me mad
    Kind Regards
    Lindsey

How did you try and reset the iPod? To reset the iPod, first make sure the hold switch is in the Off position, then press and hold both the Select (Center) and Menu buttons together at the same time long enough for the Apple logo to appear.  Don't be afraid to try this procedure more than once.

  • Mail not responding.  App is open but will not quit or respond in any other way.

My Mail app is not responding.  The Dock shows that Mail is open, but I cannot get the screen to pull up, quit or otherwise respond.  I tried to restart, but Mail stops that from happening.

    From the menu bar, select
     ▹ Force Quit...
then select the frozen application from the list and press return.

  • My iPod will not turn on at all, any solutions.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Ipod touch not recognised by Itunes and will not slide to unlock.

    Hi,
I got my Ipod touch 32GB 3rd gen for christmas last year, my battery ran flat some time last week. When i plugged it into my computer via USB to charge, it charged for a few minutes then stoped. When i looked and tryed to unlock the Ipod, it will not slide to unlock, same with the slide to power off, I have pushed both home and power botton to reset; both plugged into compter and not however after the reset it still will not unlock. when pluged into itunes i get a message saying it needs a full factory settings restore, i start that process, however i am shown an error message which reads "the Ipod software update server could not be contacted. An unknown error occured (1612)".
Sorry about the long post, can anyone help, has this sort of thing happened with anyone else before?
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks Alot.

  • My iPod Will Not Respond To Anything...HELP!

A few weeks ago I went into iTunes to download some new songs and shows, my iPod kept flashing "DO NOT DISCONNECT" but after several days of it flashing that sign I knew something was wrong. It has never taken me a week to download a few songs and shows. Now my iPod will not turn on and the songs and shows I had downloaded, are not showing on my iPod.
    What do I do?!?
    Please respond at [email protected]
    Thanks!

The iPod is supposed to flash "Do not disconnect" until you Eject it (if it's on disk mode). You can eject the iPod via the left pane in iTunes. Just right click on your iPod, and choose "Eject."
As for now, try resetting it; hold down Menu and Select (or the center button) until the Apple logo appears.
If you have trouble resetting it, follow these instructions:
    1. Lay your iPod down on your computer desk.
    2. Connect your iPod to your computer (if it's not already).
    3. Toggle the hold switch twice (on, off).
    4. Use your pointer finger from your left hand, and press down on the Menu button.
    5. Wait a few seconds.
    6. Use your pointer finger from your other hand, and press down on the Select button.
    7. Hold them down together until the Apple logo appears.
    Hope this helps.

  • HT1853 My laptop lost connection with itunes while my ipod was in do not disconnect mode.  My ipod will not respond now and still shows do not disconnect?

My ipod was connected to my laptop and in the 'Do not Disconnect' mode.  My computer rebooted after security scan and now my iPod is stuck in the 'Do not Disconnect' mode.  The iPod will not turn off, nor will my itunes recognize it is connect.

Try a hard reset of the iPod.  To do this, press and hold both the Select/Center and Menu buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

  • My iPad will not slide to unlock

My wife's iPad will not slide to unlock and then you can double tap until it goes to the passcode screen, but the passcode screen will not accept the passcode.

    Howdy there ChuckChatsworth,
It sounds like your touch screen on the iPad is not responding to touch but the Home button appears to work without issue. I would recommend these steps from the article named:
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Troubleshooting touchscreen response
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1827
    Restart your device
Hold the On/Off button until "slide to power off" appears. Slide to power off your device. When it is off, press the On/Off button to turn it back on.
If you can't restart your device, reset it by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for a least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
Clean the screen with a soft, slightly damp, lint-free cloth.
Avoid using the device while wearing gloves, with wet hands, or immediately after applying hand lotion.
If you have a protective case, or if you are using a plastic sheet or film on the display, try removing them and testing the device without it.
If the steps above don't resolve your issue, please schedule a service appointment with an Apple Retail Store for evaluation. If an Apple Retail store is not an option, contact Apple to find out your best service option or see theService FAQ for your product.
    Additional Information
Tip: To isolate an issue related to a portion of the Multi-Touch display, follow these steps:
Open the Maps application and double-tap each corner, then the center, to verify that it zooms in to each section.
If a specific area is affected in another application, note the location and try to verify touch functionality for that location in the Maps application.
On iPhone and iPod touch, you can also use Calculator:
Open the calculator app to test all but the top row of the screen. Press each button on the calculator and verify activity.
To test the area at the top of the screen, rotate the device to change to the scientific calculator and press the buttons in the left or right two rows.
When speaking with a Mac Genius or Service Provider, you can use this information to assist with evaluation of your issue.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Ipod will not update new songs from itunes

My ipod will not update new songs from itunes. I've purchased several songs from the music store, updated my playlists and as added some from my CD collection and they are not transfering from my library to my ipod.
I've tried numerous configurations under the preferences - ipod menue but still can't get them to transfer.
One error I occasionally get is "ipod cannot be updated because there is not enough free space to hold all of the songs in the itunes music library"
There is plenty of room on my ipod so I can't figure out why. It almost seems as if it is trying to copy all of my songs not just the new ones because all songs in my librbary are checked.

    Thank you for responding.
Doesn't it have to be on either manual or auto update? What other option is there?
I will try downloading latest updates.
I know it will work if I reset it (have done it a few times already). I just hate having to restore factory settings everytime I want to put a new song onthe ipod.
