My ipod will not turn on, and is not found by itunes.
It just DOES NOT turn on. At all.
And i've tried syncing it with itunes, but it doesn't pick it up,
I have a feeling it may have something to do with the fact that it's got chunks missing and there was a leak in my bag so water may have gotten to it.
But what can i do about this?
Please please please help.
Btw, I didn't buy my ipod touch4g from apple.
But I have 3 year warranty on it from the place I bought it.
Help!

If you purchased less than one year ago you should still have the Apple warranty. To check:

my itunes need a update and i pluged in my ipod awhile doing the updat now my ipod won't turn on and the screen has a itunes ion on it what should i do? i really need the help
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

ipod touch will not turn on or connect to my computer
I just had a similar problem and tried all of the reboot techniques with no success. I knew it had to be a connection issue inside the iPod, and grasping at straws, I sprayed a little WD-40. I dried it off and let it sit overnight. Today at lunch I plugged it in to my wall charger and it began charging.
***FYI I know they don't recommend spraying WD-40 on your iPod, but it was a last resort for me. I was at the point of paying to send it in for repairs or throwing it away. I wouldn't try this unless you are ready to throw yours away too. -
hi my ipod touch 2G is the same i was playing ironman and it just froze on the loading screen and then about 5 minutes later it shut off and will not turn back on, i plug it into my computer, a windows xp, and it says that the device is not recgonized and that it has malfunctioned!!!!!!!!! Hi cfoose,
Try the general troubleshooting tips in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1575#faq3
If the issue persists, the iPod may need hardware repair. Just request repair online, make a reservation to have a Genius at a local Apple retail store take a look at it, or call AppleCare.

Last week my 5th generation ipod touch dropped face down onto the ground. When picked up the screen was black and did not turn back on. I tried to connect it to the laptop but it did not recognize the ipod. Also when it is plugged into the laptop the area by the camera gets warm like it is charging. But still has a black screen. I've tried to reset and count to 10, but nothing happends. Is there anything that can be done to fix this? Or is it completely dead? Somebody, anybody please help.

IPod Touch Not Turning on and IS NOT Detected by iTunes!!!!
Hello, recently I bought the new iPod Touch 4g! It was all fine and working for about 12 days, but then it started getting really hot and the battery lasted less than an hour while listening to music. I took my iPod Touch in, and a genius told me it was a software problem and I had to do a clean restore (as a new iPod.) Since the clean restore, my iPod has been working fine... until this morning. I had it syncing with my Mac overnight, but when I came to turn it on... I got a black screen... nothing. I unplugged the iPod and tried to turn it on again, but I got no response! I tried plugging the iPod into my wall charger, but nothing happened! I finally gave up and plugged the iPod back into my Mac, but iTunes didn't do anything! HELP!!!!!
Since it does not charge anymore, there's no way that iTunes will recognize your device when the battery is empty. You're still under warranty, make an appointment at your next Apple Store and bring it in again.

Ipod no longer turns on and is not recognized by computer
My ipod ran out of battery about two weeks ago. When I tried to charge it again with my wall charger, the ipod did not recognize that it was charging. No light came on or screen changed to show that it was charging. The back of the ipod felt warm but that was about it. I then tried a different cord to charge it with my computer. The same thing happened (the screen stayed blank and looked turned off) and when I did a reset on the Ipod my itunes said it could not recognize the ipod. PLEASE HELP.
It is a second gen. red ipod nano. It hasn't had water damage or been dropped. I have no idea what could have happened. Thankshttp://support.apple.com/kb/HT1394

Ipod does not turn on and is not recognized in Itunes and computer
For some reason, one day, my ipod nano 4th generation just stopped working. On the device manager, I can see that the apple mobile USB driver is installed but it is not listed as an external hard drive on my computer. When I plug my ipod in, I have to push the top and the middle button together until it makes the sound when the computer recognizes a new USB. Then, it keeps saying 'waiting for ipod' and I eventually get a 1601 error message. I've tried everything, and it doesn't work at all. do you guys know how to fix this? This is just making me angry and furious.
I have the same problem as from this morning my ipod nano just won't turn on and when I plug into computer its recognising an external hard drive but NOT syncing with itunes....Its just gone completely dead!!! Can anyone help?

My ipod nano 7th gen does not turn on and is not recognized by my pc
Don't know why my ipod does not turn on anymore. I only had it for 2 weeks. It also is not recognized on my pc or itunes when I plug it in with my USB.
How long have you left the iPod to charge? It can take up to 30 minutes for the iPod to power on or show any signs of life. How long did you press and hold the Select (Center) and Menu buttons to reset the iPod?
It might not to also make use of another USB sync cable if you have one laying around to rule out the possibility of a faulty/damaged cable.

Ipod will not turn on and is not recognized by windows to restore it
I have a 30g video ipod that worked fine for about a week. Today i tried to turn it on and i got the sad face with the website for apple support. I tried the 5 R's but nothing worked. I can't get the ipod to go into disk mode and i can't restore it because itunes doesn't recognize it. It also is not showing up in my computer. When I plug it into my usb port it alternately shows a battery that isn't flashing or anything and the sad face with the website address. I don't understand why it suddenly stopped working for no reason. Does anybody have any suggestions or have been experiencing the same problem with their video ipod?

connected the charger and after about 5 seconds the charger exploded with a bang and you could smell burnt circuits and the screen went black and hasn't started since then..
When all of the magic blue smoke comes out your device is toast, and unless your device is still under warranty there isn't much you can do except buy another iPod.
BTW: If you were using an Apple brand charger and the failure was not due to an electrical storm or a problem with the house wireing, you may be covered..... -
IPod won't turn on, and is not showing up on computer
I just got my 30 gb 5th generation iPod yesterday, synched all of my songs, and listened to it for a little while. Now today, I tried to connect my iPod to the computer, and nothing showed up on the iPod screen or on the computer. So I unplugged it and tried to turn it on, and it won't turn on. Can somebody please help me?
Before I posted this I tried to restart it and it didn't work. The second after I posted it, I tried again and it worked! I was probably doing something wrong. Thanks anyway!

My ipad will not turn on and is not responding.
I have had it plugged into the wall charger for over an hour and still no response. I have tried resetting multiple times with no response. Any suggestions?
I have a similar problem, my ipad is frozen and I tried re-booting several times and every time the initial screen shows up zoomed in to about 300% (so I cannot see the slider at the bottom to unlock it). It doesnt respond to anything except holing in the button and re-starting but we keep going in circles... what is next?
