My iPod will not turn on at all
Alright, my iPod has officially just suddenly died.
My battery was full.
I was using a 5gen 60GB iPod Video, it's about 15 months old.
I was using it about 2 hours before this happened, and it was working perfectly. I shut it off like usual, and set it down on a table. Since then, it has refused to turn on.
It's not working at all, the harddrive will not spin.
I have tried resetting it
It's not being recognized by my computer AT ALL.
What do I do? My warranty is dead, I never bought the extended care plan. Can I still purchase it and use it maybe? Or do I have to wait so long to get this fixed.
I use my iPod regularly, a good 6-7 hours a day. I'd love to not have to wait weeks until I can even attempt to get this fixed, and cannot afford another iPod for a while.
Try these.
My iPod won't turn on.
My iPod has no power.
My iPod won't wake up.
iPod battery doesn't charge.
If the iPods 12 month warranty has expired, you cannot buy the extended warranty as it has to be purchased during the first 12 months. (i.e. within the initial warranty period)

About 30 minutes ago, I was adding some music to the ipod Nano. Everything was working fine. Now, the ipod will not turn on at all. When I connect it to the laptop with the USB, the computer does not even recognize it. The screen has a fant image of the plug on it and it says connected. I followed the procedures for disconnecting it when I was finished with it earlier. Any idea what is going on here???
ThanksIt probably needs to be reset. The procedure is different for different Nano models: http://www.apple.com/support/ipodnano/assistant/itunes/

HT201413 ipod will not turn on at all
my ipod just shut off and will not come back on
Try plugging it in, directly into the wall, and then holding down the lock button and home button at the same time (for 5-10 seconds maybe), then the apple should appear in the center of the screen...if it's iPod touch. Mine did that, and that was what I found on Google, to get it to turn back on.
Hope this helps. -
Is there a virus or bug going around attacking everyone's iPod's?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

IPod will not turn on at all!!!
OK, so I was updating my software on my iPod, it was almost done, and then it turned pitch black. So, I waited a few minutes then i tried to turn it on. Nothing. Then I plugged it into my PC and it said "Windows does not recognize this USB device driver. It has malfunctioned." so I called Apple Tech Support and it said to come here and it really stinks because I had the TextFree app on it and you're supposed to use your number, and if you don't they disconnect your number and mine got disconnected so now I am really stuck. So someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My 160GB ipod classic stopped whilst playing music and will not turn back on despite having almost a full battery. I have tried connecting to itunes and a docking station but will not turn on at all - HELP?!
I've had this from new for 2 years, the battery life is excellent and lasts for days so I know it's not a power issue as it was fully charged that morning. No signs of connection in itunes, it's not showing as a connected device.
Can anyone please help?Hi gscoops,

"iPod software update server could not be contacted. The Server does not support this version of iTunes." iPod will not turn on or charge or reset settings. I tried plugging it in my laptop, house computer and docking station to charge and nothing. Also, I have all the latest software updates to my knowledge. This is a classic 8GB iPod, running of Windows 7. Any thoughts/suggestions?
only thing that seems to work so far is syncing without photos and also check here https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3206849?start=30&tstart=0

ipod touch completely unresponsive. will not turn on at all even when connected to power source. is it dead????
After charging for at least an hour reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next connect the iPod to your computer and see if iTunes sees the iPod. If it does try restoring the iPod via iTunes. If it is not visible try the following to make it visible:
--- Place it in recovery mode via:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
--- Place in DFU mode:
