My iPod will open iTunes, but iTunes will not sync
My iPod will no longer sync in iTunes. It will automatically open iTunes when I connect the cable, but iTunes does not see it. The PC sees it, but iTunes does not.
I have recently restored my laptop to factory original (Dell, running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit, 8GB RAM).
I have re-installed iTunes.
I have switched to a new sync cable.
I am using a built-in USB port, not through a hub. This worked once, but iTunes locked up. When I re-started it, it no longer saw the iPod.
Any help appreciated.
The point is that there are four i product users for one computer in my house, and not everyone wants the same music on their device. Like I said before, the ipod is not syncing to the new library even though I plug it in when the new itunes library is pulled up. It keeps syncing to the old library...

B.H.yes i have a solution to my problem only because of a recent phone call from apple they were great.......... in the right hand side of itunes my i pod was displayed. click on the ipod symbol........at the top of the page you will see summary,,,,,,music,,,,,,movies,,,,,,tvshow,,,,,,photo,,,,,on this ipod.
click on music check mark music done and sync

I have a new computer now with windows 8. Old one was windows 7. The itunes library contains all I expect on new computer. Ipod will not sync with content. It says it is syncing but only picks up 1 tune. Solution please. I am on itunes 64 but it makes no difference from 32 bit.

An Album (CD) that I have successfully imported into iTunes, and synced with my iPod, will NOT sync with my iPad, even though I have done everything I know how to do so. When viewing the music in "On This iPad" mode, I can actually see the album there, but it is grayed out, and in the left hand column there is a circle with dotted lines, as if it is an incomplete download--which in essence it is. But I have the album (CD) in my iTunes and on my iPod, just like hundreds of other CD's--what's up with this one?
Another characteristic is that since trying to import this CD into my iPad, I cannot get a successful sync of the iPad now; the syncing process hangs up in "Waiting for changes to be applied" for 3 or 4 minutes, and then it just stops. No message that "The syncing process is complete. Please eject before disconnecting." The sync just quits on its own, so I take it that the syncing process was unsuccessful.

A friend had the same problem a while back. All his music was in the WMA format and is therefore not playable on the iPhone and would not copy. Once he converted his songs to MP3 they copied to his iPhone without problem. -
My 5th generation iPod will not sync with my computer (windows7). It has before. Now it shows error -124. It wll sync with other computers. I have tried what they suugest on the computer.

Alright, so my Ipod will not sync with my itunes accoutn because there is not enough meemory. Apple is refusing to help me becasue it wasn't purchased recently. So if anyone has any idea what this means, or how to fix it, I'd be greatful for your tips and suggestions.

In my cars I have a dealer installed integration module so that I can navigate my I pods play list artist and song titles using the radio itself. Ever since that last iTunes update 7.3.1. I have had an Alpine head unit in my car with the ipod connection for about a year and it has worked fine until recently. Now I get an error message on the ipod that reads, "The currently attached accessory is not supported by this ipod." I have tried connecting a buddy's ipod to my car stereo, and his still works fine with it. I've done the 5 R's, tried going back to an older version of itunes as Alpine suggested. My next step will be going to the Apple store with an appointment, seeing what they say.

It gave the choices of yes and cancel, i didn't click either because the option box went away and it just stopped restoring on its own. Make sure your new computer is authorized in iTunes. Disable autosync in itunes, connect your ipod, right click on it in the device list and choose backup.
This will save data, pictures and settings to itunes. See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
Transfer your purchases the same way to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your ipod got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored from the backup you made.
