You'll need to connect the iPod Touch to your iTunes library in recovery mode and restore it factory settings.  There is no other way.
Here are instructions for getting your iPod touch into recovery mode.

  • IPhone 4 won't sync with new computer

When I connect my iPhone 4 to my computer, music, movies, and apps don't sync to the phone from the computer. I just switched computers and this was the first sync with the new computer. I've tried syncing with this computer multiple times, but the only things still on the phone are contacts, apps from before the switch, and music I've bought within the past few days on the device. I was using a Mac OS X Snow Leopard (pretty sure) and the new computer is a Mac OS X Lion.

Just checked my iTunes, don't seem to be having this problem. Here is what I can recommend:
    Restart iTunes, it may help
    Restart Computer if 1 fails.
If you're on Mac, update to latest iTunes (released today)
Restart iPhone and then iTunes and then plug it in

  • IPod won't work with new computer - please help

When I bought my iPod, I had it hooked up with Computer #1. That went with my ex-husband in the divorce, so I no longer have that computer.
I now have my parents' old computer, Computer #2. My dad has an iPod that was originally used with this computer, but none of his songs or libraries are on Computer #2 anymore. The iTunes library is totally empty. I tried hooking up my iPod, and it said that my iPod was already associated with another computer. So I authorized Computer #2 to play my iPod songs, and that didn't work either. I cannot deauthorize computer #1 since I don't have it anymore. ITunes would not let me deauthorize both computers, like it said you could do once a year.
I am at a loss for what to do. Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem!! I had my library on a computer on XP and now I have Vista and don't know how to transfer my Vista. If anyone can help please let me know!!!!!!

  • My Ipod won't sync with my computer

My ipod is not recognized by itunes, but it appears under my computer. My computer recently crashed, and so I have had to reload all my programs and songs, and since then I haven't tried to sync my ipod with my computer other than now. I have tried many things under the support section of apple website but nothing works. I put uninstall itunes and it goes for a bit then says "Service 'ipod service'(ipod service) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient priveliges to stop system services"
I have restarted my computer a lot, and pressed retry a few times when I get that error. I have no idea what to do, can somebody help me with this problem? Do I have to register my ipod with my computer in some way since this is the first time using it since I redownloaded itunes? Can I fix this without installing since it doesn't seem to work?
    Thanks so much.

I'm having the same problem - I just got a new laptop, and I loaded CDs and bought some music. The laptop crashed, and the hard drive had to be replaced. Now I can only see the things that I purchased in my iTunes, but I don't know how to get my songs already on my iPod to show up. I tried transferring them, but it didn't work. I have the option of choosing "Erase and Sync," but I don't know if that will erase my iPod or what. Please help!!!!!

  • 30GB iPod won't sync with new iMac

I used my 30GB iPod with my old G5 iMac for years without any problems. 2 months ago I bought a new Intel i5 iMac and I have a lot of problems to sync it with the computer. I get the message that the content of the iPod is unreadable and I need to restore the iPod. I restored the iPOd 3 times since I got my new iMac. Is there something I can do about it?
    Thanks in advance

Try a low level format of the iPod's Hard Disk using Disk Utility.  See this article for a walkthrough on reformatting your iPod.

  • Old Mac Ipod won't sync with new Macbook (help!)

Ok so this is probably something really easy but I can't for the life of me get it to work.
I got a new Macbook Pro recently and have been building up a new library with my older songs and newer ones I've acquired since the purchase. My problem is when I go to sync my Ipod to the new Mac my ipod automatically goes to the "ok to disconnect" screen without syncing anything. I pressed "sync" and "transfer purchases" and it still goes into disconnect mode, very quickly too.
Its almost as if the ipod is protecting itself and dosen't want to sync to the new Mac for that reason, but that's what I need it to do. Its a 'Mac to Mac' move so its not like I'm putting a Mac ipod into a Windows computer
What do I have to do, or how do I get to a setting that would let my ipod sync successfully on this new laptop? If anybody could help it would totally save the day.
The ipod is an iPod classic 2008-09 120gb

    Hey Ginger795
You would have to tell it to erase and sync the iPod. With a new library you will want to sync exclusively or set up “Manually manage music” on the iPod to make it work properly

  • I have an iphone 4 that i use as an iPod. it is not connected to a telephone company. I updated to ios7 and now it won't sync with my computer

I have an iphone 4 that I use as an iPod. It is not connected to a wireless network. I have updated to the IOS 7 and now it won't sync with my computer. Does anyone know what could possibly be the problem?

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes?  If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

  • Our old computer crashed which had all the kids ipod touch library on it. Now when I connect ipods to new computer it says I have to erase all the app, etc to sync with new computer. Is there anyway to sync to the new computer w/out losing all data?

Our old computer crashed which had all the kids ipod touch library on it. Now when I try to connect them to new computer it says I need to erase all data, apps, etc. to sync with new computer. It is saying that it can only be connected to one library at a time. Is their anyway around this without having ot erase all their stuff?

    - Transfer iTunes purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like on of those discussed here:
    newer copy
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

  • I have moved my itunes to a  new computer and now my ipod will lnot sync with new line up

i have moved mu itunes to a new computer and my ipod will not sync with new music.

If you are using automatic syncing, you may need to set up the iPod's Music tab in iTunes.
Select the iPod in iTunes.  There is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Select Music there.  This is the Music tab, where you tell iTunes how to sync the iPod with songs.  Sync Music is checkmarked for automatic syncing.
If your entire iTunes music library can fit on the nano, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, create your selection of songs below.  For example, if you want to keep it simple, create a new playlist in iTunes.  Put ALL songs you want on the iPod on that playlist, including songs from the newly added music.  Back on the Music tab, find and checkmark that new playlist under Playlists.
When you click Apply, your selection of songs on the Music tab syncs to the iPod, replacing its current content.  Going forward, any changes that are related to the Music tab settings sync automatically when you connect the iPod, or when you click Sync.  So, if there is a playlist with your "iPod songs," you can just update that playlist (add and remove songs) whenever you want; iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes at the next opportunity.

  • HT1727 All of the music on my ipod touch was synced with another computer that I no longer have. Will I be able to transfer songs and videos that I didn't purchase?

My ipod touch was synced with another computer that I no longer have. Will I be able to tranfer my music and videos to my new conputer without losing the items I didn't purchase from itunes.

Move or copy all the media from the old computer or the backup of the old computer to the new computer.
    iDevices are not backup devices.
