My Ipod won't turn on & home button is broken

Okay so the home button on my Ipod 4th generation 32gb stopped working, but i found the assisted navigation thing which helps me use my ipod without the home button. However, today i had my ipod plugged into my computer to download music and when i finished it was all good n dandy, however my ipod just suddenly turned off and it won't come on again!
I've looked around and people have said to hold down the power and home button for 10 secs then it will turn on - but only one problem, my home button is broken.
Is there anything else I can do that will fix it?
HELP

- Try connecting the iPod to your computer and restoring via iTunes.
- If not successful see if this program will get the iPod in recovery mode so you can restore it.

  • Dead end? Iphone 3gs wont turn on, home button is broken

Hi! I have my iPhone 3gs for about 3 years now, working flawless. Last night I had my iphone on low battery until eventually it died. I connected it about 30 mins later to my charger, but after a hour I noticed it just won't react! I tried four other chargers that are compatible and none seemed to work. So I tried maybe to do a DFU mode solution, but my home button is broken so I can't do it manually. It's possible as a software in the PC..But the catch is my PC wont recognize my phone...:P
This looks like a complete dead end! Do people here have any other solution to this? Else...I'm afraid I might be needing to get a new phone. :/

You can probably get the home button fixed (and maybe a new battery) at a local repair shop.  Else, purchase a new phone.

The Home button is broken and I don't know if the Lock/Sleep button is now broken or stuck as well. I believe there may be a problem with the battery or the backlight. I've had my screen replaced once by some stooges. What should I do?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it  says place the iPod in recoverymode use one of these programs.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer

  • IPod Touch 5th Generation won't turn on and the home button is broken, followed the steps from another thread but it's still not working

I have an iPod Touch 5th Generation with iOS 8.1, my home button is broken and I've been using AssistiveTouch for months now. Today I just locked my iPod and it wouldn't unlock again, it doesn't respond at all, it won't turn on. It was almost fully charged, so it's not the battery. I followed the steps from this thread, but I'm still getting the "USBMuxListenerCreate: No Error" message in CMD Prompt. I bought my iPod abroad and even though I do have the warranty, I've been told at the iStore that it's not valid here, so going to the store isn't really an option. Any ideas how to solve this?

Sorry, but without a working home button it is not possible to reset or restore your device. You should visit an Authorized Appel Service Provider or Apple Store to get it serviced. The warranty for an iPod is not limited to the country where it has been bought, check here: one-year limited warranty
Jailbraking the device will void the warranty.
You can check the warranty status by inserting the serial number on this page: https://selfsolve.apple.com/agreementWarrantyDynamic.do
A list of Authorized Apple Service Providers can be found here: iPod touch - Contact Us - Apple Support

  • IPod touch 4g won't turn on and my home button is broken

My iPod touch that I just got last March won't turn on after putting it to "sleep" while I was in class today. My Home Button does not respond that well so I used SBSettings as an alternative. I've encountered this situation before but my Home Button was 100% working back then. I resolved it by holding the Home Button and the Power Button at the same time. Now that my Home Button is broken, I can't fix it anymore. Does anyone know any alternatives on how to fix this?

I have a 4th gen 32GB ipod touch. I was sitting on my couch and right after I sent a messege it just shut off and wouldn't turn back on! So on top of my home button being broken iTunes doesn't read it and the ipod won't charge....WHAT DO I DO!?!?!?!?

  • IPod Touch won't turn on and Home button is broken!

I tried to restore my iPod touch with iTunes, then I got error 1601. From this moment, the device won't turn on. The home button is broken and warranty is expired, so I don't know how to solve this problem. I know people who press power and home button at the same time, (and it works) but as I said, the home button is broken. It was broken long before the restore attempt, and I already tried every single way to fix it.

If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
    Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you checked your connections and are still seeing the error message, check for hardware issues.

  • My iPod touch 5th generation won't turn on or charge and the home button is broken, how do I get it working?

I've tried buying new chargers and plugging them into different outlets around the house but the iPod will not respond to anything.  The home button is broken so I can't reset the iPod by holding both the home and lock screen buttons down, and it won't even connect to iTunes when plugged into my computer.  How can I fix this issue? The iPod never overheated or anything, and it still had charge left before it quit responding.

Unfortunately for you, the home button is necessary for reset and also to put the device into recovery mode or DFU mode. Since that is not working, and the device is not recognized in iTunes, check the charging port area. There could be dust, lint, etc, that is blocking the connection for charging, and connecting to iTunes. If nothing seems wrong there, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location. There is no other option.

  • My Ipod 5th generation won't turn on and the home button is broken. what do i do?

My iPod was working fine all day and then I locked it and when I came back to it, it would not turn on and it had almost a full battery. I have tried to plug it into it's charger but it still wouldn't turn on so I plugged it into the computer and that didn't seem to work either.  I would try the method of holding down the home button and lock button down at the same time but my home button is broken (which I also do not know why it has broken).
