THe landscape worked and then it stopped the lock is definately off and i've tried resetting it but that didn't help at all.

Hi my ipod 2nd gen time is messed up. The date and month is fine but the year has changed to 2513 and it wont change back to 2012 it just changes back straight away please help! what can I do?

If you head to Settings -> General -> Date & Time is it set to Automatic? Head to Settings -> General -> International -> Calendars and make it is set to Gregorian.
It might not hurt to reset the iPod as well. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

Why does my iPod not change to Landscape view

My iPod Touch will not display in the landscape mode in most applications. When displaying photos it will switch to the Landscape mode, but will not in Calendar, Notes, and other apps. Is there a setting I have set improperly?

What are these other apps? Because for some applications, landscape view is not possible, like calender.

IPod wont change screen or do anything at all

Two days ago I was listening to my Ipod and it played a song but when I tried to turn down the volume nothin worked the next button the menu the play/pause button....nothing worked. But the song was still playing.
Also the hold button is not working and when I try to turn the Ipod off manually it does nothing...also when I plug it into Itunes since I upgraded to 7.0 Itunes will not work until it says it is synced and then every other time I have plugged it in it tells me to restore it but when I tell it to restore it says that the ipod cannot be restored!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

Go into Applications > Utilities > Disk Utilities with your iPod connected. Click on the iPod and then select Repair Disk.

I had to change my hard drive, now i'v tried to reinstall itunes, it is saying i have to restore my ipod touch to factory settings, will i loose all my films by doing this, as now my ipod wont work anyway unless i restore ?

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your ipod. Only if you back up your device manually before syncing, you can restore from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Here's how to:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your ipod to your computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your ipod without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your device for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the ipod for the first time.

Ipod screen says 'connected' and wont change.

I connected my ipod to my computer and then pulled it out without ejecting it. Now the screen wont change from the 'connected' screen. I cant turn it off and pressing any buttons wont help.
i've restarted my computer but whenever i connect it again it says USB Device Not Recognised.
what do i do?

Have you tried a simple reset of the iPod? To do this, toggle the hold switch on and off a few times, then press and hold the Center and Menu buttons together until the Apple logo appears. You may want to try this a couple of times if no luck on the first.
Another possibility is to try and force the iPod into Disk Mode and see if that helps.

What is making it think that you own money for an app upgrade?

HT1926 whenever i try to click the itunes icon on my screen, i get a ' itunes software liscence agreement' coming up, i click agree but itunes never opens, my ipod wont make it open! (ive never had problems with itunes on my other computer)

it all started when i installed itunes, which i have never done before on this computer as its new (second hand , but i mean new as in wiped clean)
i downloaded the latest itunes software from the website, and everything went smoothly. when i dobule-clicked the icon on my home screen, a 'apple itunes software liscence agreement' window popping up, it had 'save as' 'agree' and 'disagree' buttons, naturally i clicked 'agree' the window went away, but nothing (even 30 minutes later, with the computer untouched) happened. frustrated i repeatedly opened it up, again and again, only to be greeted by the same window, and same blank home screen. even connecting my ipod wont force it open, changing cables wont work, and uninstalling seems a very distant probmise to fix this error. HELPP MEEE! I am nothing without my beloved ipod!

I am also experiencing some problems with the new software version, I bought the Belkin TuneBase for my car 25 days ago it had been working fine since I upgraded my Ipod 2 days ago, you know that sometimes if you don't get good reception you can change to a diferent preseted station on this Belkin Transmitter but since this Ipod upgrade I can't change to a diferent station and also i can't disconect it like before because before it said you were ok to disconect and I'm afraid to return because perhaps afterall is a software problem.

Ipod wont fully sync

sorry i am posting this twice, i didnt realized i posted it in the windows section, sorry once again i am new to this..
So! i have a 5th generation 30GB ipod, and i have had no problems syncing it until this past week. When i plug my iPod in and click Sync iPod it starts to sync then it just stops and doesn't say sync complete, nor does it put any of my new stuff on my iPod.
i don't know what's causing this, however about a week ago i had to reinstall the installation discs on my macbook so the program DVD player would work, and since then i have noticed i've been having problems with itunes itself saying "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. A required iTunes component is not installed. (-42404)" could this be why my iPod wont fully sync? please help!!
so far the only thing i've tried doing is resetting my iPod and macbook several times. and ive searched all over the web for an answer and cant find anything..

Im also beginning to have similar problems with my 5th gen 30GB ipod! I hadnt had any problems with my secondhand ipod until last week when i purchased a song from itunes and it wouldnt sync! I reported an issue to itunes but it ended up syncing and fixing itself, or so i thought. recently i tried to add a CD to my ipod and only half the songs would sync. Now, anytime i try to add a song, purchased or from a CD, it begins to sync and then stops midway or doesnt sync at all. At first it would just not sync and then be over with, but now when i try to sync a song an error pops up saying "The ipod (name of ipod) cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found." I tried updating my ipod software, and resetting and nothing changed.

I think this is some type of bug. I have had this problem with my iPod photo and now my 5th gen. iPod.
It's most noticeable after ejecting the iPod from the computer. It takes a short while before you an turn the iPod off. Sometimes it will not turn off when viewing a video. So hit the menu button and start playing a song - then it will probably turn off. It's a bug because the iPod will sense the button press by changing the top porting of the display (toggling time etc..) but it simply won't turn off. I wonder if it's something to do with the hard drive spinning at the moment???
Anyway, try playing a song and try again.
