MY IPOD WONT EVEN BE ACKNOWLEDGED BY MY PC
Every time i go ahead and plug my ipod in it doesnt do anything. It just stays on the menu and my computer doesnt acknowledge it either. Sometimes my ipod makes like a clicking sound like its about to do soemthing but then it doesnt. I dont understand because my ipod plays and charges perfectly fine and it used to work fine and i havent changed anything on my computer. I think its a second generation ipod ( the that has no clicker wheel and the four buttons on top of the wheel)
Ive tried to restore it but the ipod doesnt appear there either. I also tried the device manager, not there, and i tried putting into disk mode, which it did at first, even thought it didnt show up on the computer, but now when i try disk mode the ipod wont do it. Tried resetting it like a billion times and it always makes that clicking noise like its trying to do something, but it never does. One time when i plugged it in a bubble popped up on my computer that said something about new hardware that needed to be reformatted or didnt work or something. But that never happened again. And i tried the diff USB port thing that didnt work either.
I'm desperate for suggestions if anybody has any- im dying to update my ipod!! its been like this for months now! sorry for blabbing on about my problems for so long.

hmmmm. let's quickly check on this to begin with:

My ipod doesn't even play music normally anymore. Whenever i play music it just freezes and takes about 5 minutes to load.. and im really sick of it. I only have about 1,300 songs in the Ipod. I have 5th generation 30 GB Ipod and use the latest Itunes. I googled around and some people also have the same problem. They say its from artwork. I tried disabling artwork but still didn't disable any artworks. What should I do?

First tip, you can't downgrade you iOS.
Now, to address your issues. Connect the iPhone to your computer and tell iTunes to "Restore" it. When asked, tell iTunes to setup as a new device. Select your applications, music, etc. and sync those onto the phone.
Now, it it possible that you have just done something sly like disconnecting it from iTunes before the snc was complete, so you might just havea few corrupted files on the device. For the problem with your apps crashing, try to open the app store application (on your iPhone) and select to downlad & install a simple free app. That might resolve your issue with apps crashing. -
The iPod seems to charge (sometimes), but wont show up on the computer. The iPod wont even show the "don't disconnect" icon on the screen. I've tried different computers (Mac and Win) and have reset the iPod, but to no avail. The only other thing I can think it could be is the port going bad, but I'm just wondering if anyone knows of anything else?

Also you might try forcing the iPod into disk mode first, then connecting it to your computer and see if that makes it show up in iTunes...

IPod Wont Charge or Even Acknowledge Being Docked
I am having trouble with charging my iPod, and even getting it to register when being plugged in. Every time I plug it in, it gives me a warning saying that "USB Devices Disabled". And the warning message it gives as its reasoning, is because of "Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices." It won't charge, it won't do anything. I don't know what it's problem is, nor can I even begin to tell you why it has started doing this all of the sudden. Can anybody help me figure this out please?

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

To get reid of the Restrictions passcoe you have to restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod. You should do that anyway since the apps and music (if any) on the iPod do not belong to you. They did not transfer with the purchase of the iPod hardware.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

i have a white screen and i tried rebooting the ipod touch by holding the home and sleep button simoltaneously but it still jus tappears white. i also attempted to connect my ipod to itunes but my itunes wont even recognize my ipod touch 4g. What should I do now?
Just let the battery drain until the screen shuts off. When you charge it back up it should boot up normally.

I have a ipod touch 4th gen and it wont chrage. When you plug it into the wall the lightniing bolt screen will apear but no matter how long you leave it, it will never turn on.
