My Ipod wont respond to my itunes

I'm aware that there are many different ways to fix this problem. I talked to a Apple advisor and he told me that i should delete everything that has to do with apple off my computer, restart it and then reinstall it. I tried( didnt work) I just updated my itunes to the latest version and at first it gave me a AVFoundationCF error which i fixed(Thank god) then afterwords it told me that my quicktime wasnt working, which i fixed (again thank god)and now that my itunes is working i plug in my ipod and nothing (I repeat)NOTHING happened! it was like my ipod wasnt even plugged in googled the problem and it told me alot of things that didnt work so im looking for another! ANY body got ANY thing plz help

Tell me about it, ive just reset to factory settings thinking it would work so now I cant get anywhere with it. Strange its not working on other computers though.... Ah well ive got to get some sleep now its 00:20am in the UK haha. Let me know if you figure anything out!

someone please help. My video ipod wont respond. Ive tried everything. I plugged ino my computer and tried reseting it?( pressing the select and menu button) nothing works what should i do!! I have been trying for the past three days.

ive got a fifth generation video ipod, and i think ive got itunes 6.0.1 or something of the sort, and whenever i hook it up to my computer via usb, the ipod displays the "do not disconnect" symbol but wont show up on itunes.

Ipod wont show up in itunes after installing update

okay so i hadn't updated my ipod in a couple of months (bad i know but we have really slow internet here and it takes forever to download things) then i downloaded the update a couple of days ago and it started installing then came up with an error saying it failed.
It was late at night so i just switched off my laptop and went to bed, and the next morning i tried to turn on my ipod and it was stuck on the connect to itunes screen. When I plug it in it comes up with a box saying "Windows needs to install device driver software for your Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)" I clicked the locate and install device driver software, but it can't find anything.
It wont come up in itunes and i've tried the restoring thing, but it's not working...maybe i'm doing it wrong? idk help anyone?

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! Downloaded 9 point whatever it was, and then it said i needed to update my iPod, so i lugged it in, all was hunky dory and then it said i had to restore my iPod and so i tried that and now it wont restore it, keeps coming up wit some whacky error and the iPod is stuck on the connect to iTunes screen and its driving me insaaaaaaane!!!!

Well I've had my 30 GB Ipod since July 2007, got it as gift. Have kept it in GREAT condition too! I still even have the plastic on the screen. I treat it like if it was my child but this week though a problem has occurred. When i go to plug my Ipod in to get new music the Itunes library wont read it. A message also comes up saying that the device has malfunctioned. Just last week it wasn't saying this and worked perfectly. Its still able to charge though and I'm still able to listen to music on it, Just wont be read by Itunes. It constantly says that the Ipod is charging too. Convincing me that it has to do something with the USB port. Ive tried multiple USB cords too. Any suggestions or comments are greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Among other things, the cable might have been pulled before the on screen warning says it's okay.
1. Put the cable in USB port of your computer and start iTunes.
2. After sync, unclick "Enable Disk Use"; it should stop charging.
3. You may have to reload your music, if the iPod's directory is damaged.
Also, make sure you have the latest firmware and software updates.

I have plugged my ipod into my mac and it charges, but wont show up in itunes or on the desktop, I have tried resetting the ipod, reinstalling itunes and checking for all updates. I have also changed cables, ports and plugged it into a different computer and the same thing occured. The ipod is not new, and it used to work, now i just want to re-sync it.

Ipod wont respond

The click wheel on my ipod mini wont respond at all. I cant reset it or do anything using the click wheel. I have tried updating my software and even completly restoring the ipod to no effect. I have no idea what could be wrong with it please help.

make sure the hold button isn't on, and then hold the centre button and menu button down until you see the apple logo. if that fails, use the hold switch and flick it on and off until the apple logo appears.

Did you:
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

my ipod wont connect to my comp/ charge via usb
we have two different usb's so im pretty sure they arent the problem (they work with the wall charger but not the computer)
im not very computer smart so dont expect much knowledge on my part : )
we've connected with the comp before, but it just stopped connecting

Back up first (Time machine) as much as possible.
Un-install and re install Itunes.
First and foremost download the updated iTunes from apple website. After downloading Uninstall itunes and all its component ( Dont worry, itunes library where your movies and music is located will not be deleted. Please follow instructions on the apple support page). The problem might be the AppleMobileDevice.kext

Ive had my Ipod since last christmas, so almost a year. my warranty is about to expire too..anyway. I was listening to my music as usual and i was using shuffle. I pressed >> so i could skip some songs, then my ipod stpped playing my songs (showing the song on screen, but then just went to the next, paused, went ot the next without playing) it then just shut off and it wont turn back on. I was on half battery and i really dont knwo what to do. the hold button was off, i tried to chrage but it wont respond, help!
