My ipod wont show up in itunes

when i connect my ipod touch to my computer, it doesnt open itunes and it doesnt appear on itunes page. how can i fix this?

However, after your remove the Apple software components also remove the iCloud Control Panel via Windows Programs and Features app in the Window Control Panel. Then reinstall all the Apple software components
- New cable and different USB port
- Run this and see if the results help with determine the cause

ive got a fifth generation video ipod, and i think ive got itunes 6.0.1 or something of the sort, and whenever i hook it up to my computer via usb, the ipod displays the "do not disconnect" symbol but wont show up on itunes.

I have plugged my ipod into my mac and it charges, but wont show up in itunes or on the desktop, I have tried resetting the ipod, reinstalling itunes and checking for all updates. I have also changed cables, ports and plugged it into a different computer and the same thing occured. The ipod is not new, and it used to work, now i just want to re-sync it.

okay so i hadn't updated my ipod in a couple of months (bad i know but we have really slow internet here and it takes forever to download things) then i downloaded the update a couple of days ago and it started installing then came up with an error saying it failed.
It was late at night so i just switched off my laptop and went to bed, and the next morning i tried to turn on my ipod and it was stuck on the connect to itunes screen. When I plug it in it comes up with a box saying "Windows needs to install device driver software for your Apple Mobile Device (Recovery Mode)" I clicked the locate and install device driver software, but it can't find anything.
It wont come up in itunes and i've tried the restoring thing, but it's not working...maybe i'm doing it wrong? idk help anyone?

I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM! Downloaded 9 point whatever it was, and then it said i needed to update my iPod, so i lugged it in, all was hunky dory and then it said i had to restore my iPod and so i tried that and now it wont restore it, keeps coming up wit some whacky error and the iPod is stuck on the connect to iTunes screen and its driving me insaaaaaaane!!!!

My ipod wont show up in itunes and I can't restore it

Currently, my iPod won't show up in iTunes. I have reset it multiple times, but to no avail. I have gone back and forth from disk mode several times and still nothing works. Every now and then iTunes says it's preparing to restore iPod, though the device doesn't show up, but then nothing happens. I have re-installed iTunes, rebooted, re-installed drivers, and I'm at a loss as to what to do next. Any ideas?

5th Generation iPod wont show up on itunes

I recently got an iPod from someone, but when I plug it in my computer it won't show up in iTunes. When I got it, it had no battery at all. So I charged it and now I would say it is at about 75%. The iPod works fine, but I tried resetting it a few times and that didn't do anything. I want to restore it to factory settings but I need iTunes to do that, and iTunes isn't recognizing my iPod. It is a 5th generation 60GB. The iPod currently is fully charged.

5G ipod wont show p in itunes

I recieved my ipod for christmas and immedietly wanted to use it so i hooked it up to my dads computer now when i hook it up to my computer it doesn't show up in itunes i tried to reset it but that didn't work andy ideas?

Ipod wont show up on itunes but shows up on my computer

Just got a 2nd gen ipod shuffle and trying to sync it to my itunes library. My library does not detect my shuffle but my computer does. When I run a diagnostic "ipod connection status" is red/failed and once I click help I am sent to downlaod latest version of itunes. I tried updating to the latest version of itunes v7.4.2 but when once I click on download it does not ask me to run or save, therefore I am also unable to update to the latest version. What am I doing wrong and how can I sync my shuffle to my library. Thanks in advance.

What version of Windows are you using? Windows 2000 for instance won't work with iTunes 7.4, it's no longer supported which could be why you can't get the version you downloaded to run:

My ipod does not show up in my itunes list but it shows up in my computer as a drive
it all started when i got my ipod back after getting it fixed ( it was a problem with the battery) well it said that i needed to restore the factory settings so i did then a message came up and said your ipod is now restarting it will come back to your iptunes list after it has restarted.... but it didnt
and now when i plug my ipod in i get a bubble come up that says:
"windows was unable to save all the data for the file F:\iPod_control the data has been lost the error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or netowrk connection please try and save this file elsewhere"
i have done everything i can to try and fix this (5 R's and such) but i have gotten no results
please help quickly as i use my ipod all the time and cant function without it =]

I have a similar issue.
Mine shows in iTunes and in PC. It will also allow me to sync.
But when I do sync, it runs fine for about 10 minutes, then I get an error similar to yours with a directory location. It keeps syncing and will periodically show the errors. Then it will lock up.
I have run chkdsk, awindows utility (chkdsk [driver letter]: /R /F) over the iPod when it has been restored and it found nearly 400mb of bad sectors.
I though this would fix the problem but is has not. When I run chkdsk over it again, it does not find anymore bad sectors (it does however tell me that it has 400mb of bad sectors logged.)
I am banging my head against a wall trying to fix this, or even find out what the issue really is. I assume it is a dodgey hard drive, but I do not want to replace it and still have the problem.

IPod not showing up in iTunes (but it worked before)

Hey... this is my second day of having my iPod and all was working fine. I had loaded songs into iTunes and was able to transfer them onto the iPod..
The problem I am having now though is that I always leave my computer on at night, but I turn off my monitor. I went to sleep last night and when I turned on my monitor this morning, my computer had shown that it had been reset (it was prompting me to log in) so I did so, and now my iPod wont show up in iTunes anymore... but it does show up in windows explorer.
Any fix to this? I've restarted my computer several times, uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes, and also stopped the iPod process in the device manager thingy and restarted it, but to no avail.

I've posted several questions over this and no one has helped me either, i've done all the delete, uninstall, reinstall, computer management things too, and nothing has worked for me either, I am quite disappointed at how I am not getting any help. Hope you find someone who can help you!
