My ipod wont sync with mac
i have an older (wheel) 64gb ipod. It is not letting me sync the songs i have on my ipod with my itunes library. I get a msg that says if yousync this ipod to your library you will lose all your songs and movies. I dont want to lose anything instead I want toadd the songs and movies on my ipod to my mac library. This was never a problem before but I do have 5 other mac items sync to the same account. Is that's what causing the problem?
Hello KatarinaW,
While not specifically for Windows 8, the following article provides several options for transferring your library that can be used in most versions of Windows.
iTunes: How to move your music to a new computer

This article will step you through the process of enabling 'manual mode' on your iPod Classic, which will allow you to sync it with multiple computers without disrupting the current contents of the iPod.

IPod Nano Sync with Mac, but iPod formatted for Windows
I finally changed to the Mac platform and all my iPods and iPhones were synced with a Windows based computer. While my iPhones were not a problem, my iPod Nano (4GB 2nd generation) seemed not be recognized by my iMac.
I can't seem to get my iMac to show the iPod under Devices to reformat it. Anyone have any advice to give?
I have plugged it in to a my Windows based work laptop and it seems to work fine. However I don't sync with that machine and I have already sold my old Windows based computer it was synced to.
Thanks in advance for the help.I have three iPods: 40GB iPod photo, 2GB black iPod nano and 1GB iPod shuffle. Each one has it's own playlist to auto sync songs from (technically, the 40GB iPod is synchronized manually, but the other two have playlists to sync automatically from). They each have different names so iTunes knows they're each different. So, you shouldn't have any trouble keeping just two iPods separate with your Mac mini or iMac.

My ipod will not sync with my laptop. I have had previous Ipods in the past, but since then I have grown out of most of my music. Also about a year and a half ago I got a new laptop. I used the same Itunes name, but now on my new Ipod it has all of my old music and it refuses to download any of my new music. When I am using home sharing though, it says that I can turn on my "Library" but that my "music" is what is perminately on the computer. This only works though if I am near my laptop. When I try to transfer my library onto my ipod it wont let me. My music on my ipod is completely different than my normal itunes library on my computer and I have no idea how to transfer it. When I plug it in, it wont sync at all, or show that there is any device even plugged in. I am frustrated and tired of not having any of my music, so someone please help!!!
You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. To make this your syncing computer:

Hello!

ThanksSumiko, I'd suggest you start a new topic with your issue (use the "Post a new topic" link at the top of each main topic page). It's generally better to ask a question as a new topic rather than as a reply in someone else's thread. It's more courteous to the original poster, and is more likely to get your question the attention it deserves.

IPod wont sync with iTunes. Error Message occurs.
I just updated to the latest version of iTunes and when i try to sync my iPod i get the message "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed properly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod software." I tried this and it would not redownload because i already have the newest version. I also tried doing what Apple reccomended by deleting itunes, afterwards itunes would not download so i did a system restore so now everytime i open up itunes "Windows has to configure iTunes." What can i do to fix this problem? It is really upsetting me.
In the course of your troubleshooting to date, have you worked through the following document?

3rd generation ipod wont sync with Itunes
My ipod is a 3rd generation and my software version is 1.1.3 (the newest available). It says that it is connected to itunes, starts to sync, but nothing happens. I have tried every step of the troubleshooting guide for my ipod 3rd generation. Now I just have an ipod with all of this memory space that won't sync. I did the last step which required me to restore to factory setting and still, nothing. Please help!
That is a 4th gen iPod, and it should work with a USB port (or a FireWire port).
If you have not done a standard Restore on the iPod using iTunes, you may want to do that next. The Restore button is on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes. This will erase the iPod, re-install its software, and set it to default settings. So, if the cause is related to software (or data corruption), and there is no hardware issue, a Restore should fix it.
WARNING: The 4th gen iPod (when used on a USB port) will ask that you connect it to a USB power adapter as the last step in the Restore process. These white square power adapters originally came with this model. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, you will not be able to complete the Restore, and the iPod will become non-functional. So don't do it unless you have one. A third-party power adapter may or may not work for this purpose. The USB port on your computer does not work for this purpose. -
Help please! my ipod wont sync with my libary anymore..
Can anyone help? - my ipod is only picking up a few songs from my libary yet it worked fine before!
My libary has 1702 songs and seems fit and well but its only syncing 630 to the ipod. This has only happenned in the last few weeks - i have downloaded the new itunes today but still the smae problem.
I've tried to restore with no results (in fact there is now less songs than before!)
Am i doing something wrong?
Thanks.Hi Mike_200207,
Does it work if you manually manage your iPod's music?
To switch to that setting, click on your iPod in the Source List of iTunes, and go to the "Music" tab. Deselect the "Sync" option, and click on "Apply" in the bottom-right corner of this iTunes screen to save your settings.
Then, in iTunes, click on your iPod's "Music" section. Manually select all of the songs, and delete them off of your iPod. Then eject/disconnect the iPod from your computer.
Now, connect it back to the computer again, and try to manually transfer all of your iTunes library songs to your iPod (to do that, select all of the songs, and drag them to your iPod's name in the Source List of iTunes).
After the songs have loaded to your iPod, you can eject/disconnect it again, and see if all of the songs that you transferred appear on the iPod.
For more information on how to manually manage your iPod's music, see this:

9900 wont sync with Mac, Calendar or Contacts
I have a 9900 and MAC running 0S10.5 (latest version of 10.5) and am using outlook 2011. I was able to sync my calendar once. However i was unable to sync my contacts.
Now when i try to sync either calendar or contacts, i get an error "an error was encountered while syncing Contacts/Calendar." "Please retry the sync".
I have tried "forget device" and a battery pull and then a syncing again, only to have the same issue. It only worked that one first time with my calendar.
is there any other things i should try. i do not want to erase device and start again.
Thanks.Hey ShawnDKane,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Has a calendar been deleted from iCal? Also did you make sure the sync services are enabled and working with Outlook 2011? Go to www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB24730
