  • My Ipod won't turn on and it's fully charged, what should I do?

I was listening to music on Pandora and all of a sudden my Ipod touch started flashing to the power off screen. At that point I tried powering off to reboot and the slide bar wasn't working very well. When I finally got it off I left it off for a few minutes and then tried to turn it back on. The first time I tried it wouldn't even turn on. The second time it froze on the opening apple screen. I tried again and this time it took me to the lock screen and it started flashing on and off. I tried turning it off again and letting it sit for awhile and the same things happened again. Now it will only turn on randomly.

    Try here:

i left my ipod alone for a second on the bed i come back and i click the on button it wont turn on anymore and its fully charge what should i do?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My ipod wont turn on and ive alredy tried everthing

my ipod 5 wont turn on and ive tried doing everything

If you're really tried "everything," then throw it away!  Otherwise...
Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

    Error 1604
This error is often related to USB timing. Try changing USB ports, using a different dock connector to USB cable, and other available USB troubleshooting steps (troubleshooting USB connections. If you are using a dock, bypass it and connect directly to the white Apple USB dock connector cable. If the issue persists on a known-good computer, the device may need service.
If the issue is not resolved by USB isolation troubleshooting, and another computer is not available, try these steps to resolve the issue:
Connect the device to iTunes, confirm that the device is in Recovery Mode. If it's not in Recovery Mode, put it into Recovery Mode.
Restore and wait for the error.
    When prompted, click OK.
Close and reopen iTunes while the device remains connected.
The device should now be recognized in Recovery Mode again.
    Try to restore again.
If the steps above do not resolve the issue, try restoring using a known-good USB cable, computer, and network connection.
    Error 1600, 1601, 1602

  • Ipod wont turn on and computer doesn't recognize it

I've had my ipod for two years and never had any problems until four days ago when I unplugged it from my computer after it had finished charging and syncing. I went to plug it into my speakers but noting happened when i hit play. I unplugged the ipod from the speakers to check the ipod but it wouldn't turn on. After trying holding down the power button and the home and power button to no avail, i plugged it back into my computer. The computer didnt recognize it and it didnt show up in my itunes and the ipod started getting really hot in the bottom left corner. I unplugged it to let it cool down, but four days later it still wont turn on and my computer (imac) isnt recognizing it. As if this wasnt bad enough, I borrowed my brothers old chromatic, and used that for a day but it too died when i tried plugging it into the same speakers. And it too isnt being recognized by my computer. I now have two dead ipods and im thinking its because of these killer speakers...are they done for good or can they be saved?
    BTW- neither were jailbroken

After charging for at least an hour I would try to place the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring it via iTunes.  For recovery mode see:
iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore
If still not recognized, try placing in DFU mode and restoring.
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
Last is to make an appointment a the Genius Bar of an Apple store.  I would also not use the speakers until the problem is resolved

  • My ipod wont turn on and its been on the charge for ages... Please help!!!

When i try to turn on my ipod (Ipod photo 20GB) The logo appears and then after a few seconds the unhappy ipod picture comes up and underneath it says www.apple.com/support/ipod
I went to the support pages and tried restoring and resetting but nothing is working when I place it on the charge (mains) the battery with the lightening bolt comes up but it cant possibly not have enough cahrge to load because I have had it charging for ages!!
If someone can help me out here Id be extremely grateful!!

To begin with my ipod will be on the charge and the sign of the battery with the lightening bolt at the side appears, then i try and reset which involves holding the menu and slecet button...but the logo doesnt appear the wewe battery flickers slightly then resumes as normal i.e. with the battery and the lightening bolt, that is all it does I cant get it to do anything else...

  • My ipod wont turn on and nothing works! help!!!

My ipod just out of no were just stopped working and I don't know why. I have tried everything including the 5 Rs from the support site and nothing has worked. Everytime I plug my ipod into my computer, the battery symbol will show up and when I hold down the select and menu buttons the apple logo appears after like 6 seconds but then it goes to the sad ipod logo and after that it just turns off. I have repeatedly tried to reset and it just does the same thing over and over again. It goes apple logo to sad ipod logo and then off. I need help on what to do to fix it.

This exact thing happend to my iPod. I was listening to it one day, with a full battery, and it just turned off, and never worked again. I bought the Apple Protection Plan online because mine was out of warrenty. Then I sent it in to get it fixed. This is what I would suggest doing. But make sure there really is something wrong with it... they will charge you if you send it in and only the battery is dead or something. To send it in, go to support, and click on iPod + iTunes support, and on that page, in the first paragraph, there is a link to 'get service'. press that, and then request iPod service online. In a few days they will send you an empty box, and you send your iPod back to them in that same box.
