My ipod wont turn on, at all. What do i do?

my ipod wont turn on at all

Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    any ideas?

    Did you try a reboot/reset?
Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. The iPad/iPod should restart

This has happened to me before but to a verizon droid...don't press any buttons and put it in a bag of rice for a few days...the rice will suck all the moisture out of the phone. I did this, and after 2 days my Droid worked perfectly. Good Luck!!

  • My ipod mini wont turn on at all no matter what i try

I've tried toggling the hold button while holding down the menu and select buttons, and i've tried a few other things that i have been told to in the situation that my ipod wont turn on, but none of them will work. right now it's hooked up to the usb cable on my computer, and it has been for the last couple days. i think all this might be because ive been too lazy to click eject before i unhook it a couple of times before, but i dont know.

I've tried toggling the hold button while holding down the menu and select buttons
It seems you are not performing the reset correctly. Don't worry about the hold switch...just press and hold menu and select simultaneously for about 6 seconds until you see the Apple logo appear. If you have an AC adapter, plug the iPod into the wall socket using this and then try the reset.
i think all this might be because ive been too lazy to click eject before i unhook it
Bad idea! You should always eject it properly or you risk corrupting the hard drive...it would be a shame to have to fork out for another iPod just because of laziness!

  • Ipod wont turn on all i see is the apple sign then my ipod shuts off again, how to fix it?

ipod wont turn on all i see is the apple sign then my ipod shuts off again, how to fix it?

Connect it to itunes, and see if itunes recoginizes it.
If not, then hold home and the power button to do a soft reset.
If not, then you will need to go into recovery mode.
To get into recovery mode you need to Hold Power + Home at the same time. After it goes blank, continue holding the home button while releasing your finger from the Power Button.
You should be able to do it. Otherwise, you may need to send your Ipod in for repair.
NOTE - Using recovery on your Ipod will erase all data and reset all settings.

  • What do I do if my IPad wont turn on completely and what I mean by that I see the Apple logo and I think that it is turning on and then after a while i see the loading symbol which means that it isn't frozen and then all of a sudden it shows the apple log

What do I do if my IPad wont turn on completely and what I mean by that I see the Apple logo and I think that it is turning on and then
after a while i see the loading symbol which means that it isn't frozen and then all of a sudden it shows the apple logo once more and it repeats the above

    Try this first.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that doesn't work, try restoring the iOS software.
