  • Firefox will not connect to anything past my Yahoo homepage

I am using Firefox 4.0 beta. Last night I began having problems with the browser not connecting with anything, including the Mozilla server. I finally gave up and went to bed. This morning the same problem continued, so I used Internet Explorer 8 to connect to the internet (worked fine), and came to this site to report my problem. I have checked my router (brand new) and internet connections and they are all ok. I am using Windows 7 on a Dell Studio 17 laptop. I have recently downloaded Network Magic from Linksys, but have not installed it yet.

  • How on earth could I be connecting to the Internet through my airport express when it is not connected to anything?

I'm not entirely displeased with the situation but I cannot see how I could be connecting to the Internet through my airport express when the Airport is not connected to anything.
    Weird huh?
I have a separate non- Airport wireless network connected to the Internet.  I had previously set-up the Airport to link with this network but disconnected it (by resetting it) as music streaming was unlistenable due to frequent drop out.  I now just have the Airport Express as a standalone wireless network only connecting to the stereo to stream music from devices.
My devices are only connected to the Airport network with cellular data off. Yet I can still connect to the Internet AND listen to streaming music (without drop-out no less).
I don't want to fix it but I would like to know how the frag it could happen so i don't screw it up accidentally.

I would say you still have something of the previous setup.
To be sure you don't mess up, save the configuration.. go to the top menu area of the airport utility and export configuration.. which will land on your computer.
Now you can recover at anytime to the current setup.
How it works.. that is magical ..
Open the airport utility.. edit.. and take a screenshot and post it of the following pages..
    Internet wireless network
THen we can tell you how it is working.

  • IPod touch 4th gen will not connect to anything after update. Please help.

Ok, so I haven't updated my 4th gen ipod touch since I bought it, which was well over a year ago. Just recently, apps have started to force me to update to the newest iOS and many updates require it too, so I finally decided to update and get it over with. Well, I synced everything from my ipod and then updated. Well, to my horror after I came back I found out that even though I had CLEARLY synced my apps. They were gone on BOTH my ipod and my computer.
Not to say I was really ticked off or anything, but I had almost 15 GB or so of just apps on my 32 GB itouch. I read somewhere that I can go back and reinstall all my apps but that would be a PAIN. Turns out there aren't many others ways to go about doing it so I was left with little choice. Well, once again, I ran into the problem that absolutely nothing would connect on my ipod touch.
So, I have two problems actually:
    1. Is there anyway besides reinstalling apps for me to get back all the apps I had prior to updating my ipod? And in the future, how can I prevent itunes from deleting my apps when I clearly have them synced before updating?
    2. Why won't my ipod touch connect to anything wifi related? When I open the app store it just simply loads. And it will continue loading forever; I had it "loading" for about an hour until I decided to come here. Same goes with iCloud, facetime, Safari - just anything that has to do with connecting to my wifi.
Things I've done: I've restarted my ipod once already, I've reset my router as well, and I've also tried to disconnect from my router then reconnect. None of them have worked so far. Any help would be appreciated.

    - If synced media like apps and music are not in the iTunes library on the computer one which you update they will not be on the iPod after the update since the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media..

  • CB2530 BT Headphones will not connect to anything!

    Help ! Please !
My CB2530 headphones will not now connect to anything, including the adapter supplied to fit into headphone sockets.
None of my BT capable machines (which have all worked fine with them before) can find them as a BT device. The supplied adapter just blinks it's blue light and then auto powers off without making a connection. All the time, the headphone blue light blinks like it is waiting for a connection ....
I notice too that if you switch them on and hold the earpiece which has the red power light, the red light glows more strongly and dims again when you let go. I have tried new batteries and everything else I can think of without success.
Is there something I can try or are my headphones broken? The indicator lights do seem to operating normally but they just never make a connection.

    Koyli,
When you connected your Bluetooth device to the headphones were you required to put in a connection code? I am trying to connect to my headphones from a Bluetooth enabled laptop and I am asked for a connection code when the laptop recognizes the headphones as a Bluetooth device. I am working with Creative Customer Support to get the connection code, but I received a reply that the only way the headphones work is with the dongle. Where did you get the connection information requested for the connection?

  • PS3 not connecting to anything wirelessly

My PS3 slim won't connect to anything wirelessly (including controller and internet). Controller wirelessly connects to other PS3's and is fully charged. It works with the lead connected. My wifi is working as have tested this with another PS3 and other devices. Have tried to reset controller and restored default settings on PS3, but nothing. Please help...

Ok, that looks like the network interface card has failed. This is a mult-function card that contains the wifi, ethernet and bluetooth functions.
You will need to get it looked at somewhere, either a local pc repair shop, or send it into Sony.

  • TS1368 I'm frustrated! iPod Touch 4g not connecting to anything needing internet, even though wi-fi is connected.

My iPod Touch is making me very frustrated.  It can't connect to anything needing internet, except Draw Something.  App Store, Safari, even Weather won't load.  Facebook is touch-and-go.  If it loads it's VERY slow.  I contacted Apple support and that didn't help.  Best Buy (where I bought it a month ago) didn't help either.  The iPod Touch only connected for about the first week I owned it.  I've tried troubleshooting based on other answers posted here (changing the date, disconnecting and reconnecting wi-fi), but NOTHING works.  Please help!

    1. Try resetting Network Settings
Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
    2. If that does not help, test it on another network.
    3. If that does not work, try a restore.
    4. If that does not help, contact Apple again and see if they will replace it. You can always ask to be transferred to Customer Relations if you feel support was no help. They will take care of you.

  • IPhone not compatible with device - when it's not connected to anything

When travelling, I use my iPhone as my alarm clock. So I put it on Airplane Mode so it doesn't buzz when e-mails or calls come in. Last night, it was on Airplane Mode, wifi was off and so was Bluetooth. It wasn't plugged into anything.
Early this morning, I was half asleep but noticed it got brighter in the room. The phone had lit up. It had an error message: "This device is not compatible with the iPhone" (or some similar). I think that's strange, because the iPhone wasn't connected to anything.
Later on, I turned off Airplane Mode and got ready for work. I got the error message again - but still, it wasn't connected to anything (and still no wifi or Blutooth, both turned off).
It wasn't the normal incompatible error message I've seen when actually connecting the phone to a device, the one that asks if you want to go into Airplane Mode.
Anyone experienced this before? I did a reset once, and it did it one more time (this time with the longer error about switching to Airplane Mode), but hasn't done it since then.

the same thing happened to me, my iphone was in my pocket when i was at the movies and my drink had been dripping from condensation onto that pocket, when i got out my pants were wet in that spot and my iphone was wet. I showed that message too but when it dried out it stopped doing that.

  • My ipad will not connect to anything that uses the internet.

I have owned it for over a year and suddenly it exits out of Safari, Netflix, iTunes, iBooks.... etc. It's not the wifi itself because we have Apple laptops that work just fine. I click on iTunes and then it just exits out of it and goes back to the homescreen. This is just irritating the BEJEZUZ out of me and I feel like smashing it right now! This has been going on for a few weeks now HELP!!!

    Try two things:
    1.  Unplug (literally) your router for a few seconds, then plug it back in
    2.  Reboot your iPad:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go fo both buttons and your iPad will restart.
See if you can then access the internet.........

  • HT4623 My Iphone5's bluetooth will not connect with anything

the bluetooth on my iphone will not discover any devices nor will it allow it to pair with other devices.  I purchased an Iphone 4S at the same time and it is presenting the same problems.  I have restarted it and I have rebooted it to no avail.

The iPhone Bluetooth is designed to connect to speakers, headphones, car audio systems, keyboards. If you are attempting to connect to other devices, it will not work. See below for a complete list of supported protocols.

  • IPod touch 4th gen not connecting to anything

I got an iPod touch 4th generation for my birthday yesterday, it was charging and working fine until a few hours ago, my computer and iTunes can't find it, the whole adapter doesn't work basically, I even tried connecting it to my adapter and it still didn't work. All of this has seemed to occur after I updated my iPod to iOS 6.1.3, if anyone can help me with my problem it will be much appreciated.

    Have you tried a reset?
Hold the Sleep and Home button down until you see the Apple logo.

  • Brand New iPhone 4 Accessory Error when not connected to Anything at all!

I got my phone out the box and immediately began experience this message. "This accessory is not optimized for this iPhone" - "You may experience noise caused by cellular interference and a decrease in cellular signal strength" - It was not, and had never being attached to anything. I have reset and restored it to IOS4 (not synced).
The message persists about once a minute, even if the phone is sleeping. It's too new to have lint trapped in it, even though I have checked the dock area for obstructions.

    Deodato wrote:
Here what I actually figured out last night. If you have a faulty data cable it will interfere with the data flow causing this error to occur. Try swapping out your data cable for a new one. It worked for me, works like a charm.
Harder to explain is why this also happens to me, with the iPhone 4 in a JBL speaker/dock. There is a next-to-zero chance that the dock connector in the JBL has somehow been damaged during the few days I've had the new iPhone as compared to the many days I used the 3GS. It is also hard for me to understand why this message just popped up today while the iPhone 4 was in the JBL dock, but did not pop up over the past several days while the iPhone 4 was in the same JBL dock.
