My itouch 4th gen keeps showing no content. why?

I'll plug it into the computer and itunes will recognize it and show that it has the right gb of music and video on my itouch but when i go on it, it'll show no content. The apply button to try syncing it when i try adding a new playlist to see if it helps doesn't work either. i've already had to restore it earlier today but now its happening again. and then to restore it, i have to unplug it and turn it on and off about two times before itunes will recognize it. My itunes and itouch is fully updated. I didn't have any problems until i updated.

There is definitely a problem with iOS 6 corrupting music indexes on the iPod. I have had this problem happen twice already and it is very frustrating. There are fixes but it only corrects the problem temporarily. Apple needs to find the root of this problem.

  • 10 most helpful apps for itouch 4th gen

10 most helpful apps for itouch 4th gen 5.1.1

    Helpful for doing what?
Knowing what the weather is going to do?
    Walking the dog?
    ...eating cheese?
Seriously, what do you expect from anyone here when you post a question like that?
But since you ask, my favourite Apps (apart from the in-built ones) are:
aNote (Awesome Note), which - guess what - it's a note taker app.
BBC News - 'cos I like to keep up with the news, but I don't have a TV.
Lemonrock - gig listings in pubs etc. (This may well be a UK only App)
Accounts - keep a note of how much money I (don't) have.
Soundhound - for finding out what music is being played
Tesco - my local supermarket shopping list
You'll note that I've only listed six, not ten. Well, they're my helpful useful ones. You may not like any of them or may not be able to get them if you're not in the UK. Either way, what anyone else thinks is useful or helpful doesn't help you, does it?
My advice, and feel free to ignore it, is take your time deciding which Apps you want. Otherwise, you'll simply end up with lots of Apps you don't like and don't use. Decide what sort of App you think may be of use to you and then read the reviews on it and see if you can use those to decide if it's for you.

    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.

so now I have to close an account I've held for 5 years and lose all my content...... am I right?
    No.
I suggest you contact iTunes support.
    -> http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
and was declined because I didn't have enough funds. This is fine. This happens all the time. Its cash.
I wouldn't say "this is fine" and it is not cash.
In many places, attempting to use a debit card with no funds (even if you don't know there are no funds) is fraud and is illegal.

  • ITouch 4th gen. wont turn on at all, after already being used.

So i am 15 and i got my brand new 32g iTouch 4th gen for Christmas. Iv had past iPod's so i already knew how to add songs, and what not. My songs are already on the iPod and everything has been working great. I was just on the internet showing my mom this storage bin on kmart, after that i closed down the internet, and pressed the lock button at the top. I then wanted to show her this picture on my lock screen, so i went to turn it on/unlock it, and nothing worked! I tried pressing the lock button, and the home button. I also tried holding each. I also tried connecting it to my computer to see if it would work. It did not. Its stuck on a black screen. Please help!

Ok i fixed it!! I texted my best friend Ivan. (: You hold down both the lock and home button. As soon as the apple pops up, let go. (or else your data will be erased) then, i let it do its own thing for about 30 seconds and it turned on! yay!(:

  • IPod Touch 4th gen keeps on rebooting

Hi everybody out there, I am posting this because I am having a serious problem with my iTouch 4th gen. The problem below:
I did a full+trickle charge like five days ago and everything was going fine, I was using my iTouch and left it in standby for like two days, I checked for its battery level yesterday and it was 4% so it was obvious it wasn't going to last much time, so I decided to leave it until the battery was totally drained. I plugged it using my iPad charger and original charger and it started to charge but as soon as I was going to grab it to unlock it started to reboot and kept on rebooting. I left it connected and it was 12% but after five reboots it was under 5% and the battery seemed to be hot, It is obvious it is not a software problem. Any idea how to fix this? Do I have to replace the battery? Thanks in advance.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or Apple Authorized Service provider is in order.
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
If not within warranty you can also Google for a third-party repair place.
If it is confirmed that it is the battery, yo can purchase a replacement for about $10 and replace it yourself if yo are up to it.

    - Have you tried resetting the iPOd:
Reset iPod touch:  Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next connec the iPod to its syncing computer and try to restore the iPod.
    - The if still same. place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore the iPod.  For recovery mode see:

When I go to the certain app, the price isn't highlighted as if it isn't compatible with my itouch 4th gen even though it says it is and it fits all the critera. Would downloading the certain app on the computer app store instead of my itouch work or should I try something else?

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?
