- Have you tried resetting the iPOd:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next connec the iPod to its syncing computer and try to restore the iPod.
- The if still same. place the iPod in recovery mode and then try to restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Maybe you damaged the ribbon cable that connects the switch to the logic board. -

As i was using my itouch(2nd gen)there was a sudden and drastic increase in temperature on the rear portion(metal portion) and since then it is not working.Has anyone come across a similar problem?Any Suggestions?
Sounds to me like the battery has failed.
You can take it to an Apple Store. They MAY be able to do something.. Or, you can find parts and "How-To" repair guides on the internet. eBay and Google are your friends... -

Apple guys are deleting posts. I have found my posts have been deleted. Apple should MUST let us downgrade at least to previous release from current which was working fine.

You can try a reset; a restore to a backup; and then a restore to factory settings. If that does not work, you will need to replace the screen. To attempt to do it yourself, get instructions and link to screen purchase by Googling "replace ipod touch screen." Note that if you are unsuccessful in the DIY, Apple will not do an out-of-warranty exchange for $99 ($199 for a 64gb, 4G) which is one of your other options.

Shuffle 4th gen cuts some songs off and goes to next song.
Shuffle 4th generation will cut some songs off and then starts next song.
Some play almost to the end and some will move on only about half way through the tune.
Seems to move on at about the same spot in the song each time.
I have removed the songs and retranfered them in itunes - that does not help.
It does this in both "shuffle" and play in order modes.
Any idea on how to fix this ?

My iPod 4th Generation does not let me download iOS 6.1.1...
The reason I want 6.1.1 is because I want to download kik and a load of other apps but I need 6.1.1.
The message is "Error. Unable to download iOS 6.1.1" or something, and I have no idea what it means or how to fix it because I know barely anything about the apple software things.
I've read a few things about it and discovered that this issue is common, but I can't get the answer I need, and the other posts about this issue were made like two years ago. I've got enough space, definitely, and last night it was downloading it so I put it on the charger and went to sleep, when I woke up it said "Cannot download. Internet connection is required." something like that. I had no issues last night, but now it's saying it cannot download.
Can someone please help?
I've not updated my ipod for a year or so now, but I'm still not sure why it's not working.

PS: I currently have ios 5 point something.You have to have an internet connection, either wireless or through a computer with iTunes. When you choose Software Update you can only update to the latest version for your iPod Touch, iOS 6.1.6

They will be gone from the iphone, but you should be syning all contacts to your computer regularly and should be importing all pics to your computer regularly, particularly before any update.

iTouch 4th gen freezes at boot up and will not reset no matter how long I hold down the power and home buttons. Mac will not recognize it when plugged in.
See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow Itunes to see the iPod so you can restore the iPod, After that, I thing an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I am using iPhone 5 (iOS 7.1.2). It often switches off and restarts by itself, sometimes it refuses to open certain applications until I switch off and restart it. Sometimes it does not make a call through unless I switch off and restart.

If you are having issues with restarting and apps not launching you may want to try this to troubleshoot.
Since restarting has not helped, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -

I would make sure you are using an Apple branded cable with your iPad. If you are, the troubleshooting steps in the article below may help. The steps listed below for the iPhone and iPod still apply to your iPad.
Resolving issues
If your battery doesn't charge, or if your device shows a low-battery image, black screen, or "accessory not supported" alert, follow these steps.
Inspect the connector at the bottom of the phone:
Make sure that there are no bent pins in the connector.
Make sure that the connector is free from debris.
If there are bent pins or debris, please contact Apple Support.
Otherwise, continue troubleshooting.
Make sure that the outlet you're using works.
Make sure that the Apple USB cable and Apple USB power adapter work.
Plug the device in to power and let it charge for up to 30 minutes. If you don't have an Apple USB power adapter, try connecting to a computer's high-power USB 2.0 port (not a keyboard). The computer must be on.
If the device still exhibits an issue, try turning your device off and then on again while connected to power.
If the issue is persists, please contact Apple Support.
