Everytime i try to restore my ipod it loads until there is a little bit left to load and then shuts off and itunes says that there is an unknown error (9) and can not restore. Does anyone know what that means and/or what i can do?

I've had a cursory look at the SP1 release notes, and couldn't spot anything vital - what critical stuff do you know of in SP1?
I don't want to have to go through all the pain of setting up VM's, reinstalling iTunes, getting all my album art back in etc. (though I could, as I do have Win7 pro). I've also heard that running iTunes in Windows 7 compatibility mode might help. Can anyone confirm whether that actually works?
I think it's in Apple's gift to fix this issue, given that they say that they support Windows 7. So far I've had no feedback from a mail I sent to Apple, and the number of users reporting this problem keeps going up and up.
I want Apple to recognise that there is a problem, and then I want them to fix it. -
have tried to update my 4th gen itouch to ios 5.1.says it will take 3-4 hrs but download stops after a short while. have tried numerous times but no luck
Try disabling firewall if you have it.

Hi. I have a 2nd generation itouch and i have the newest itouch, the itouch 4th generation.
I have apps that I have in my 2nd gen that I would like to put onto my itouch 4.
The app I want to use is "WhatsApp"
I'm able to use it on my 2nd generation but I'm not able to on my itouch 4. When I try searching it up in the
App store through the itouch, it says no matches. But when I go through my itunes and try to search it through there, I can find it. I'm able to download it but when I try to sync it into my itouch 4, it says it's not compatible.
I need help. I really want to use the app on my itouch 4, but it says it's not compatible. Through iTunes on my computer, it says that it needs iPhone OS 3.1 and up and I am pretty sure that the itouch 4 has the latest iOS and even if I had to update, it still isn't compatible.
Help please!If it's not compatible then you cannot use it on the new Touch. Contact the apps developer for further assistance and to find out if a newer version is forthcoming.

ThanksIf you want to transfer app dat you need to restore the new iPod from the backup of the old iPod. Restoring from backup will result in your new iPod being just like your old iPOd except you will have to reenter keychain items like passwords since those only get restore to the same device upon a restore.

My iPod touch 4th generation says on the screen to connect to iTunes. When i connected it to iTunes, it says i must restore my ipod for it to work. However, I have over 6,000 pictures that I've taken over the past two years that i do not want to lose. What do I do? I already tried resetting it by holding down the home/power button, that doesn't help.
Elitegate, the poster siad his iPod has the Connect To iTune screen, You can't backup the iPod when in that mode.

iOS 6.1.4 was only for the iphone 5 to correct a problem on that device only. -
How can I see website data from itouch 4th generation? My 8 yr old may have been on inappropriate sites and I need to see the data from website data stored on the itouch.
There is no way to see where he has been.
Go into Settings > General > Restrictions > Safari and turn it off. Then add the MacGruff browser from the app store. After that go back to Restrictions and turn off the ability to add apps. -
Hi my name is Timothy and I have had my iPod Touch 4th Generation 32 GB for about 8 months and when I got it, it was fast but now i updated it to 6.1.6 and it goes really slow i have only used 6.8 GB of space on it and there is 21.7 GB left on it.
Periodically double click the home button and close all the apps in the recently used dock. Then power off and then back on the iPod. This frees up memory. The 4G only has 256 MB of memory.

Unfortunately yes, though technology would never move on if it kept to older standards and did not strive to do more.
The app store always gives you the option to use a previous version of the app IF it is available for your device.

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
Try the following to rule out a software problem
- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
