My iTouch got stolen. Would they be able to recover or see my files?
My iTouch got stolen. I know it would be nearly impossible for me to find it. But my concern is that, would they be able to view my files? My iTouch is password protected though. Is there a possibility they would see what's in it? Thanks for the help.
I don't use iMessage but it doesn't sound good. It might be that the thief knows you AND your password is something that is easily guessed, like your house number or the last four digits of your phone number.
Don't agonize over what might have happened but, instead, take some steps to ensure that nothing else happens:
Change your iTunes (Apple ID) password along with any other password that was stored in the iPod. If any passwords are associated with credit cards, contact the CC company and get your card replaced (with a new number). If any passwords are associated with your bank or any savings institution, contact them also and discuss approprate action with them.
Then, at your leisure, check to determine if anything financially bad has happened, such as credit card charges, bank account withdrawals, etc. If anything like that has taken place, contact the financial institution and discuss the situation with their personnel. I've had some credit card scares and my CC company took good care of me.

Not without the password. Most thieves fear that you will track the iPod using Find my iPod, so they will probably wipe the iPod, which would erase your data and they would not have access to your Apple ID. Did you have a passcode lock on it?

Unless you have mobileme AND activated find my ipod on the ipod BEFORE it was stolen, AND it is on AND it is connected to wi-fi, THEN you could find the registered address of the wi-fi router to which it was connected.
What device can you track with the serial number?

If I got a new hard drive on my computer and plugged in the time capsule afterwards, would I be able to recover the information from my old hard drive that was stored on the time capsule prior to the replacement?

When OS X asks you to restore a backup, it will allow you to select what you want to restore from the backup, Just select the things you need, because if you select everything, you will be in the same status as before restoring the Mac to factory settings. This has nothing to do with erasing the hard drive

im in a girl high school in montreal. My ipod got stolen 2 days ago. My ipod touch is always connected on location services, so I went on icloud immediately after school. Then i waited for couple of hours, the girl who stole my ipod turned location services off too fast so it didnt connect me. But she signed in with her apple ID. I went to the cops but they said that i dont have enough information, and furthermore i have to wait for couple of weeks for them to decide if they will investigate on my case. My parents isn't that rich, my mom exchanges her airmiles points to get my ipod touch. Please can you suggest me what to do???What other info did you give the police? A man broke into my apartment last night and my macbook is missing. I don't have the receipt or the serial number but I purchased it with my visa card. Would someone at the genius bar be able to take my credit card and find out the mac that I purchased and flag it in case the person tries to bring it in?

Start filling an insurance claim if you think it is worht it (your rates may rise if you make a claim but a new computer might still be worth it). -
