My itouch is stuck on a screan....

that says "iPod is disabled... connect to itunes" However my laptop is not recognizing the itouch. Any ideas to help?

Try placing the iPod in recovery mode and then restoring the iPod via iTunes. For recovery mode see:]iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to update or restore

my itouch is stuck on shuffle

To turn off the shuffle function of your music player, open a song and look on the top right corner of the screen under the length of the song.
You will see an icon displaying two crisscrossing arrows (to the right repeat and genius icons).
The icon should be blue indicating that shuffle is on.
To turn it off, just tap the icon.
To turn it back on, tap the icon again.

my iTouch is stuck in restore ipod software mode for about 30 minutes with little amount of update. What do I do?

    Disconnect the iPod
    Reboot the computer
Try again. Place the iPod in  Recovery Mode  if necessary to allow the restore.
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    Welcome to the discussions,
if you connect your ipod to itunes and look at the colored info bar at the bottom of the window, does it show different colors or just one orange "other" part? As you got errors while syncing, there might be corrupt data files on your ipod filling it up. Try to restore again to get rid of the great orange part. After that the "other" section should be reduced to max. of 500MB or less.

I recently purchased the 2.1 upgrade for my itouch, and when I attempt to restore it, it keeps getting stuck in the same stage. It gets all the way to about 4/5 of the way through, "restoring software" and just stops. Can someone please help me?

  • My itouch is stuck on "connect to Itunes" screen and wont restore.

Ok so I tried to do the software update but now when I turn my itouch on I get the connect to itunes screen with the picture of a usb going to itunese logo. When I do connect to itunes it says its in revovery mode, so I have to restore it and delete everything in my Ipod (WHICH ***** A LOT). But when I tried to do that it just says my files are corrupt and it cant be done. So what can I do? I tried to do the DFU thing but it doesnt work. Please help!

Try on another computer with another USB cable.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • My itouch is stuck in recovery mode after I attempted to restore it

, the restoration progress bar doesn't move and I'm unable to shut down my mac book or use my itouch, my itouch is not jailbroken, please help!

Force quit iTunes and disconnect the iPod. The try to shut down the Mac. Let the battery fully drain if necessary.
Then start up the computer.  I would place the iPod in DFU mod and then try restoreing the iPod. See:

  • ITouch is stuck on a boot loop...

My iPod Touch (second generation) is stuck on what appears to be a boot loop. It turns on to the Apple logo then it flickers as if to turn on, shuts off, and restarts. The cycle takes about 5-10 seconds. I have no idea what's happening to it. I can't turn it off; I've tried restarting it, and it just keeps on going.
Before you ask; I've never jailbroken my iPod. I was always too paranoid that something like this would happen.

    - If you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try DFU mode again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My itouch is stuck in recovery mode

My iPod Touch was linked to my computer as I downloaded (as recommended by Apple) new iTunes.  Claimed I needed to update my OS.  I accepted.
Got error message and then my iTouch went into a stasis with USB cable icon pointing to iTunes icon, demanding that it be restored (with loss of my
apps, music, calendar info, notes, etc.).  Is there any way to get back to baseline and get my iTouch without having to wipe.  Right now, I can't even get
the command to restore to show.

Force quit iTunes and disconnect the iPod. The try to shut down the Mac. Let the battery fully drain if necessary.
Then start up the computer.  I would place the iPod in DFU mod and then try restoreing the iPod. See:

  • My 3rd gen iTouch is stuck on the "updating library" screen - I can't listen to any music and it's been like this for almost 24 hours. I only added about 200 songs, please help.

So I added about 200 songs to my iTocuh yesterday, and it has been stuck on the "updating library" screen under Music ever since then. I did add the music in stages - as in, I added some songs, then got some more and plugged the iPod in again (maybe this has something to do with it). I would restore the iPod, but I have music on it that is not on my Macbook and I don't want to lose that music. Help please!

Correction: I plugged my iPod back into my mac, it backed up/updated etc. and now when I go to my music, it returns me to the home screen. What is going on!?

  • My itouch got stuck on the verifying screen

I don't know what to do...it's just stuck there on the verifying screen even though i have already verified my apple ID through my computer...

oh and this is on the face time app...

  • My iTouch is stuck in the calendar. Added an alert, hit done and it won't leave the page. Won't let me cancel it either.

My 4th gen iTouch is fairly new. Upgraded from a 2nd gen.  Today when I added an event in my calendar and then added an alert, it froze. I hit the done button, nothing. I can't get back to the general calendar. Turned the iTouch off for 20 seconds, still the same problem. Only the Done button is highlighted and won't respond to get me back to the calendar. Cancel button is not available as it's not high lighted. I've never used alerts before, so not sure if that's what caused the problem. The rest of the iTouch is up and working just fine. Maybe a tad slower and at times a bit jerky. But all the rest of my apps are responding and working.

    - Try a reset. Nothing will be lost.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next would be a restore, first from backup and then to factory defaults/new iPod if problem persists.

  • My iTouch is stuck on the screen that says connect to iTunes. And when i plug it in nothing happens.

  • I have an ipod thats from the 3rd or 4th generation, but does not have a camera and any apps I try to download it says the software is not up to date, but I checked.  How do I fix this and get the next update? My itouch is stuck with version 4.2.1.

Please help me figure out how to get my 3rd generation ipod to have the newest software in order to download apps.  It will not let me.

I suspect you have a 2G iPod. Those can only go to iOS 4.2.1.
