Most often due two one of the following.
1 Install current version of iTunes, older Macintosh Systems will not support current version of iTunes, make sure you have current version of iTunes.
Or
2 Your computer Hosts file is blocking Apple from communicating with iTunes. To determine this, search Hosts on computer, then open Hosts file with a word processor. If the Hosts file contains this, gs.apple.com it is blocking Apple. This line with its number must be inactivated (removing it works). A stock Hosts file does not contain this or block Apple.
Here is Apple information on this problem:
"This device is not eligible for the requested build: Also sometimes displayed as an "error 3194." If you receive this alert, update to the latest version of iTunes. Third-party security software or router security settings can also cause this issue. To resolve this, follow Troubleshooting security software issues.
Downgrading to a previous version of iOS is not supported. If you have installed software to perform unauthorized modifications to your iOS device, that software may have redirected connections to the update server (gs.apple.com) within the Hosts file. First you must uninstall the unauthorized modification software from the computer, then edit out the "gs.apple.com" redirect from the hosts file, and then restart the computer for the host file changes to take affect. This happened to me as well. I use an iMac as my main machine, but have a laptop that my daughter uses. I use my Apple ID on both computers. I would occasionally see on my iMac that I have updates available and would click update and get the No Update Available response, yet the red badge remains displaying that I have an update. Found that a few people had this happening as well via these forums so I checked on the laptop and it updated. I then noticed the red badge on the iMac had disappeared as well. If you have any other computers that share your Apple ID, I'd run update on those to see if it fixes your issue.

Apple does not support downgrading the iOS. If you try installing an earlier iOS you get the error message. Apple only supports installing/restoring to iOS 6.0.1 on the 4G and 5G iPods.

Check this first, settings>General>date & time>set automatically>on. Make sure the time zone setting is also correct,
Then restart the iPad. If you still can't update or get the message about not being connected to the internet, reset the iPad.

Time Machine crashes every time after the computer sleeps or goes into screen saver for a period of time

Downloaded CC and followed the directions to install PS but when I click download trial it sends my to CC and nothing happens. What is going wrong?

Nobody is answering - I think you meant "How can I recover/save/reinstall Lion" if I need to.
Couple things: always keep backups, and include a bootable (clone) backup.
There are articles on Lion Recovery and to install Lion to another drive; to save the installer; to burn a DVD with Lion; and, to maintain and keep Snow Leopard (OP said Leo but I would HOPE everyone knew their intended OS was SL and not just plain olde 10.5 Leo). You had to have SL DVD to even buy Lion.

So backup. Then you can either upgrade, or do a clean install too (and make sure to save the Lion DMG before you do the Install w/ restart as it will get deleted and removed from your system unfortunately - wish like iTunes it would ask "Do you want to save to DVD now?"

Received Firefox email and liked Abduction, the Add-on Pick of the Month. Clicked, downloaded, and restarted. Now - where is it? I looked in Applications, nada. Nor on the Firefox toolbar or the drop-down menus.

When i serch for a term on Firefoxthe page comes up with all the relevant serch items but when i click on one of them it takes me to a completely different web page to that on the serched items. So the only way i can find is to cut and paste the link.

Are you sure it is a 4G iPod? Does it have a camera?

You need to update to iTunes 10.x. However, to do that you need to ugrade your computer's OS to at least 10,5,8. That is a paid upgrade.

Wow, the wording in Migration Assistant is misleading. I've never used it before, so I thought I would try to copy my files from the external drive ... my old iMac died, but I managed to get everything I need off it, using the 'cp' command in single-user mode. So I guess I'll just have to manually copy the files from the external drive to the new machine. I was hoping that Migration Assistant might help somehow, but obviously not.
