My Itunes account was hacked and 300$ stolen and I cannot get itunes to respond. Any advice?

The money was stolen off of gift cards stored on my itunes account, and I did close the card on the account. I have changed my infortiona security wide but kept the rest of the changes they made to my account as proof. It has indeed been 48 hours since I conta cted them, and still no response. Also on this forum others have reported the same thing happening. Very sad I cannot even call Itunes about this. Thanks for your response.

There seems to be a big push in the last week for hacking accounts. I got an email saying that an app was downloaded from an unknown device using my AppleID. I immediately changed my password and saved my balance from anything happening. But the app is still up on the iTunes store, even with a ton of feedback from people saying it was downloaded and their accounts hacked (losing their entire balance). The only way that I can gather someone hacked my AppleID is from my iPhone as I rarely access it from my computer which is locked up tight and behind a personal pfSense firewall along with AV detection on each PC. Phones are very vulnerable nowadays, which is why I am guessing this is the method of attack.

Are you saying that you contacted Apple support and they instructed you to backup and restore your iPad? Or do you mean that you picked up this information from an online support article? If you spoke to an Apple rep or received these instructions via email, contact them again for further help.
I fail to see how restoring your iPad would enable yoyr Apple ID.

My iTunes account was hacked. There was an app on my phone that I did not purchase. It made 'in app' approved purchases on my account to the tune of $100 that I did not authorize. I have contacted PayPal who put a stop on payments. I have tried contacting the iTunes store several times over the past 3 days, and there has been no response. My iTunes account has now been disabled. How can I get help with this if nobody is responding to my emails? Is there a phone number to contact?

My itunes account was hacked a few months ago and I'm just now noticing it. I rarely used this account, but yesterday I decided to log back in because I had some unused itunes credit. So, when I tried to login it said that I was giving the wrong information. So, I was confused and so I tried to reset my account password by email. The only thing was that I wasn't receiving an email (because the hacker CHANGED EVERYTHING). So, then I tried the other option by authenticating...so I put in my birthdate....and that was changed too...So...I called apple support because I thought they could help me out. So, I gave them my original apple id and they told me that it wasn't on file, like it never existed. So, I told them that they were WRONG! So, they checked again and said that there was no record of me ever making my apple id. So, I mentioned to them that I was hacked and asked them is there anyway they could use the "hacker's" apple id so that I can reclaim my account (which has money and etc on it). They said that they couldn't not give out personal information.....So basically they're telling me that they can't give me information on my own account! I also have emails proving that this was my account at one point and time and that my infomation was changed by someone in a different country. I had to make another apple id and it *****! I want my old one back and it isn't fair that this HACKER gets to get awaiy with it! Is there anything I can do...like call apple headquarters or something?

I agree, whenever i had any issues with Amazon, their support responded right away. From everything that i've been reading on the various threads related to a hacked account, i notice 2 things...first is that they ignore you until you can "scream" loud enough and get their attention and second is if you get their attention, you are guilty until you can prove your innocence with Apple.

The story stars off with a nice jester from my husband, a birthday gift of an iphone. 5 days later Apple announces they will be launching the new iphone 4g. WOW, this just seems wrong. I am told it could take another 2 weeks to clear up. To make matters worse I am going on vacation and unable to get money out...pay my bills...to live...No one seems to care!!! I think Apple should do something. Are there other people out there with a story like this...If they knew why is this still happening???

Yep, the credit card company is responsible for fraudulent charges, not the retailer. My wallet was stolen last year. I figured it out 34 minutes after it was stolen and in that brief ammount of time, the thief had racked up $5,000 at Sears and another $3000 at Best Buy. Neither retailer was responsible. The bank handled removing the charges and the bank deals with the retailer.......
I know it bites to have some charges you're not responsible for. The good news is, you're not responsible for them and they will be removed......

You were not specifically targeted, just a random victim.

So I wake up yesterday and get these emails, and am out $20+taxes from my balance. Emailed Apple and they said they would refund me back, but I'm more worried about my personal information and CC...I know they probably saw my address/phone but what about my CC info? Apple's email never answered my question regarding the CC card.

Mine was hacked last week too! I got the same emails where chineese apps were purchased. My first came through my PAYPAL account for .89 c. That was a Friday for which I recieved the email on SAT. BC it was poker i assumed it was my husband. But then 2 days later was the 19.99 charge that came from my account balance!! I reset my password on that day (MONDAY). Contacted apple and got my full balance back without a problem. HOWEVER----->>>>> I've been "DISABLED" over and over again since that time. I've reset my password 3-4 times. I"m running out of passwords that will be fairly easy to remember! I'm guessing this is happening b/c someone is still attempting to get into my account from abroad and after 3-5 failed attempts i'm disabled AGAIN!!
I was told just to allow it to be DISABLED for a few weeks then try again. By then they will have stopped trying to use my account. but everytime i change my password it UNLOCKS it and they start trying again. its an endless circle of reset---->>>hackers hack------>>disabled account etc etc. LUCKILY they've gotten no more $$ bc i removed my method of payment until I feel more comfortable.

You can clearly see from my account purchase history that it is not something that I would by...the "details" are not even in English. I am under a strong suspicion that my apple id has been hacked into. this morning i tried to log myself in but my access was denied. then i tried to reset my password both ways:
1. By email (I didnt get any and i even checked my spam folder and everything)
2. by answering my secret questions ( when i was asked to fill in my birth date my acess was further denied. What do i do? At this point i just want to succesfully cancel my apple ID to avoid financial damage.
