My itunes card has read invalid and I no longer have the serial number

What can I do to redeem my itunes giftcard if the code number is reading invalid and I already threw away the actual card, so I do not have the serial number anymore?

You could ask Apple to provide you with a new one assuming you still have proof of purchase . . . though don't hold out too much hope.
Also if you click on the FCE icon in the menubar and select "About FCE" you should see a serial, though if your FCE is an upgrade it most likely won't work.

No. Even if you found the serial number, it wouldn't help; there is no capability to remotely track or disable an iPod other than the iPod touch.

If you synched the iPad to your computer at any time, launch iTunes, go to the Preferences, select Devices, and hover your cursor over the backup file for the iPad. That should show you the serial number. The serial number will also be on the iPad box, if you still have it.

Are you able to go back to the store that you bought it from and ask them to activate it properly ? Normally what you should do is go back the retailer from whom you purchased the card and discuss the problem with them. They should either correctly activate the card or give you a new one. Since you have no receipt, though, it's unlikely that Target will help you, so go here:
iTunes Support
and follow the instructions to report the issue to the iTunes Store.

You can transfer itunes purchases: File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
The iphone is not a storage/backup device. The sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception is itunes purchases.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for this very occasion. USe your backup copy to put everything on the new computer, then sync.

If it's not a computer that it's been synced to then do you have a backup on iCloud that you could then restore from ? Depending upon what country that you are in, and whether the items are still in the store, you may be able to re-download some/all of your purchases via the Purchased tabs in the iTunes and App Store apps, and the Purchased tab in the ibookstore in the iBooks app.

22020134.exe is the file Adobe say you must download and run to instal Acrobat 7.0 Pro. I went through the process, the one described in your link, I downloaded the file, ran it, it runs well, except it tells me my serial number is invalid. Now what? Does this mean I now have to discard my Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional and start again with a $500 purchase? All I want to do is transfer what I have to another computer.
