My Itunes closes every time i plug itouuch in!!!!

Question

when i got my itouch i synced it up to my desktop compy. since then ive downloaded a bunch of apps, pics and stuff but i only synced it once or twice to that compy. now i gotta lappy and when i plug my itouch in it wibt show up under devices and after about a minute itunes will say itunes has encountered a problem and is forced to close. same thing happens if i go into 'file' and click' sync ipod touch'
i have no idea why its doing this. im having problems with another ipod too on my lappy, but that one worked for a while.

PS i have another ipod that ive been syncing to this lappy. so could the two ipods be the problem? i tried making a new user account but that didnt help

Also saved screenshots of pictures from the web can be a reason for iTunes to freeze, delete them from the ipod and try again.
