My iTunes does not see shared libraries and is not connectable

I am using Comodo Firewall on Windows 7 x64. I have a mac mini with no sharing and an iMac with sharing of iTunes libraries enabled.
The mini is able to see and read the library of the iMac, while the iTunes on Windows 7 isn't able to see any library at all.
The mini is also not able to see nor read the library of the Windows pc.
I have opened ports 3689 and 5353 on Comodo firewall and iTunes is a 'trusted application'. ICMP is also not blocked (not sure it is allowed).
The mini and the imac are on wireless, the windows pc is wired.
Does anyone have an idea what I am missing?

Try to turn both the computer and phone off then turn them both back on..once the computer starts, try to go to iTunes first then connect your phone to it. If it still doesn't pop up, u might have to uninstall iTunes then reinstall it. This happened to me before.

  • Since upgraded to 10.4.0.80, iTunes does not connect to iTunes Store

I recently upgraded iTunes to 10.4.0.80, and since then iTunes does not connect to iTunes Store anymore. There is no error message, the window is just completly empty.

I'm having the exact same issues regarding not being able to connect to the iTunes Store. Running Windows 7.
Additionally, my iPhone 3GS (32GB) and iPad 2 (64GB) will not sync when attempting to perform a full system restore.
Also running ESET Antivirus software. I tried the following from Apple Support and neither worked:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1923
    http://kb.eset.com/esetkb/index?page=content&id=SOLN760
I completely uninstalled and re-installed iTunes 10.4.0.80 and zeroed out IOS 4.3.5 on each device.
Additionally, I went to Control Panels > Administrative Tools > Services and stopped and restarted "Apple Mobile Device" and "Bonjour Service".
NOTHING WORKED ... STILL NOT ABLE TO SYNC.
I AM HAVING REAL DOUBTS ABOUT PURCHASING THE iPHONE 5 IF THIS SYNCING ISSUE PERSISTS !!!

  • Why do I see: iTunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn't connected to the Internet.  IE9 works fine but iTunes does not connect to the store.

I have tried 4 days to get iTunes 10.4 working on my Win7 x64 machine.  I purchased a new iPhone4 and after syncing it the first time, I can't connect to the iTunes store.
When I try to run iTunes Help, I get this message "iTunes Help is unavailable because your computer isn’t connected to the Internet."  However IE9 and Google Chrome run as always...... no connection problems.
I have already uninstalled IE9 x64 and iTunes 10.4 x64 and reinstalled but still the same.  I followed all the instructions I could find about firewalls, ports, SSL etc.

  • ITunes does not connect to my iPhone

Does anyone else have a probelm with iTunes not detecting their iPhone - either through wi-fi connection or when connected through a USB cable?  My computer currently uses Windows 7 and I have had SERIOUS issues with the USB ports - which is why I think iTunes doesn't acknowledge my phone when it's plugged in - heck, my computer doesn't even acknowledge my phone.
I've tried connecting my iPhone to my computer through my wi-fi network but although the phone shows up in the control panel, it isn't fully functional -  declares it requires "troubleshooting"; all the while, my phone continues to try to connect to my computer, but never does.  This goes on for about 10 minutes then I get a message on my phone "Software Update Failed  An error occurred downloading iOS5.1."  Then i can either click "close" or "settings".
So, I can't update to iOS 5.1 because I can't get my computer to connect with my phone.  This is probably a Microsoft or windows problem, but thought I would ask in case anyone else has the same factors and issues.
    Thanks!

Is iTunes endlessly saying "Accessing iTunes Store"? Or is something a bit different going on?

  • My itunes does not get the names of all tracks which i import.

When i import a cd into itunes, it does not get any track names. Why is this.
Also, itunes does not connect to the music store. It tells me that i should check my connection etc etc. Are these problems related, and what can i do to fix it?

Let me guess, did you just install/upgrade iTunes?
If so, then it's surely your security software (firewall, web accelerator, privacy filters, etc) that is blocking iTunes.
The iTunes "upgrade" is actually an uninstall, then total new install, of iTunes and QuickTime. Many security packages such as Norton, Zone Alarm, Google Web accelerator, McAfee, PCillin (...the list is long) see this new iTunes install as a malicious threat, and block out the previous settings without telling you.
Go to your security software vendor's website and see if they have directions for allowing iTunes & QT back in the list of programs allowed to access the internet.

Wiped our old iPad 1 clean, now can't install iOS from iTunes using laptop PC (W Vista).  iTunes does not "see" the device.  Tried uninstalling and installing iTunes on laptop.  Also bought new USB cable.  The iPad is charging, but that's all it does.  Just want to get it operating again for browsing and e-reading.

OK.  You merely erased the content and settings.  The IOS is still there.
If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures.  From what you've already stated, my guess is that you'll end up with Recovery Mode described in the last paragraph.
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, read this.

I have a PC.  I would like to sync my iPad2 via itunes.  My computer recognizes my ipad but itunes does not.  I have uninstalled itunes, shut down the computer and restarted plus reinstalled itunes.  I visited the Apple store there is no problem with the iPad or the cord. Try going into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTUnes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes and see if it'll work
If the computer sees your iPad you know the cable and connection is good, so the issue has to be software.
