My itunes doesn't start?

I tried to start my itunes but i have no respone

The easiest thing try will be downloading and reinstalling iTunes.
If that doesn't do it, try starting iTunes in Safe Mode by holding down the Option and Command keys when starting iTunes.
If it works normally, take a look at this Apple doc -> iTunes: Troubleshooting issues with third-party iTunes plug-ins

  • (Windows XP) iTunes doesn't start

    Hi,
My iTunes under Windows XP doesn't start since one week: I can see it started in the taskbar like other applications, as if it were minimized, but nothing else. No error message. If I click on it, nothing happens, if only it doesn't freeze the complete PC. I can only right click > Close.
I uninstalled all iTunes, then installed it again, and it still didn't work.
I downloaded iTunes latest version again to be sure. Still the same.
I looked for solutions over the web, but with no error message it looks difficult to find a case like mine.
    Any idea someone?

    Hey hervelam,
We have a great resource that will help troubleshoot this issue. It may be isolated to third-party software or plugins, which would explain why uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes has not resolved your issue. For information, please refer to the following:

  • Latest upgrade of itunes doesn't start up more than once per boot.

Since the latest upgrade (can't tell what version without rebooting my laptop), iTunes will only start up once per uptime session. If I plug in my iPod Touch, it will start up automatically just once, or if I start by selecting the Start Menu item to run iTunes, it will only start up once. After iTunes is closed, I must reboot the PC if I want to use iTunes. This is with Win7, but it takes me back to the early days of Win95 or ME - ahhh what memories! I'm glad that I can look at that as being in the past, but when it happens right now, I'm not particularly glad.
I can see that the iTunes Helper is running, and even iTunes.exe is running, but there's no program window visible, no icon in the tray... it's not running as far as I can see, and it's not very useful in that state. I can't see any way other than this of letting Apple know that they've trashed the new version of iTunes as far as my computer is concerned. It's just rather unhandy to have to reboot each time after I've finished using iTUnes. As a friend of mine used to say, there's nothing so unhandy as a handy thing that doesn't work...
    Help?
    Blessings,
    Duff

And that's true for the latest version as well - no change. The process never goes away after I close iTunes - it just hangs around slowly getting bigger and bigger memory-wise. Plug in my iPod Touch, and nothing happens - no synch, nothing. If I kill off the process, then plug in the iPod, iTunes does start up, but it just hangs there, and never becomes truly running and useful. So, I don't know what "fix" broke my iTunes, but it's still requiring a reboot to get it working after it's been used once and closed. At least Win 7 boots pretty quickly on my laptop...

  • My iTunes doesn't start since the last update

I am using mac os x 10.7.4 and itunes 1.6.3. since this update itunes does not start anymore. What can I do ?

On Vista Home premium, uninstalling and reinstalling buth iTunes and Apple Applicatioon Support did NOT work for me.
What did work for me was manually copyting CoreVideo.dll from the Apple Application Support folder into my iTunes folders (actually, to both of them - under Program Files and Program Files (x86)) as per advice posted in a Windows forum, found after an hour or more of frustration and failure.
This appears to be a bug in the 10.1 installation scriptimng - what's going on?

  • ITunes doesn't start...

    Hello,
it seems that the Problem is very old because i've found an old post which deals with my problem:
    Link: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=5499159&#5499159
At first I want to discribe the problem by my own words:
    1. Install Itunes 7.5 with Quicktime
    2. I start ITunes, no window would be openend, but i can see the processes in the task manager: ITunes.exe, iPodService.exe, AppleMobileDevice.exe, iTunesHelper.exe
They does NOT disappear after a while, I must close them manualy
    3. I'm using this How to: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302386 but the folder is empty... ( I cleared the folder and make a new one with the same Name )
    The Quicktime Player works fine..
    Looking foward to an answer

If iTunes will not start and there is no error message and iTunes.exe persists in the task manager:
There are a couple of things to try initially.
Try briefly turning off your firewall to see if this allows iTunes to start. If it does, your need to reconfigure your firewall.
Which firewall are you using and do you have any other firewalls, even if you are not using them or they have been uninstalled?
The second thing to try is to delete the iTunes configuration file. The following article on troubleshooting iTunes tells you how.
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302856
If those two things don't help, try working through the rest of the article.

  • ITunes doesn't start automatically when ipod is connected.

Even though I have clicked on the place that says itunes will start automatically when iPod is connected to pc, it doesn't. I have to click on iTunes everytime, and then it takes a while to run.
Anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?

    hi joyful!
just checking. reboot the PC, and prior to launching itunes or plugging in the ipod, bring up your Task Manager to the "processes" tab.
is there an iTunesHelper.exe running in your processes?

  • Last reading restart ... iTunes doesn't start by the beginning Oô

    Hi there !
    So, here's my problem.
Recently, I downloaded iTunes last version ... And sinse that day, every time I play a song on my computer, this stupid machine starts again where it stopped last time I heared it !
I mean, if the last time I played the song, I switched at 1:32, the song will start reading at 1 minute and 32 seconds, not at the begining ...
And there's also a shortcut problem, if I press the left arrow key, the song doesn't just restart, iTunes think it's a better idea to read the song before in the playlist ...
    ... Help ? ^^°
