25$ itunes gift card only gave me 16$ credit?

So yesterday I picked up a 25$ itunes gift card and added it to my itunes account. I was in quite a bit of a hurry (added to my account on my smoke break from work) so I didn't look too closely at the screen. I made a couple of in-app purchases last night with no problem but when I went to make another purchase this morning it wouldn't go through so I looked at my itunes receipts and it appears I was only given 16$ credit for my 25$ gift card. I will admit that this is the first time I have used an itunes gift card but this has to be some kind of error or mistake right?
After realizing the problem this morning I even went into my itunes account thinking maybe something happened before I put the gift card on my account and somehow I owed itunes money before I entered the gift card but looking at the receipts in the days prior to yesterday show no purchases that weren't paid for.

You've tried logging out and back into your account to see if your balance then updates, and you are sure that you didn't owe iTunes anything (no pre-orders and/or auto-renewing subscriptions due) ? Moving abroad: can I pay with iTunes Gift Cards only?

Hi,
In September I'll be moving to Germany for 9 months as part of my uni degree. I want to change the country of the iTunes Store so I can buy songs when I'm in Germany.
At the moment there is no credit/debit card associated with my account - I have always paid for songs using Gift Cards. I plan to add my UK debit card sometime soon to spend the remaining Gift Card balance (as the full balance must be spent before switching countries), and then remove the debit card from my account. Then, when I get to Germany and change the iTunes Store country, I want to purchase a Gift Card and use it to start buying songs in Germany.
What I would like to know is: is this possible? Or do I have to link a German credit/debit card to my accouint to buy songs after switching countries?

If you already have an account, you can redeem your gift card without using a credit card. If you don’t have an account, you can create a new account without payment information.

The code is under the scratchoff area on the back side of the card. Note that an iTunes card sold in the UK will only be valid in the UK, so if you live in another country, you will not be able to use that card.

Were the iTunes cards issued in the same country as your account is based (they are only valid in their country of issue) ? No, you can't see a list of card redemptions, nor how items were billed - all you can do is view your account's purchase history via your computer's iTunes : log into your account on your computer's iTunes via the Store > View Account menu option, you should then see a Purchase History section with a 'see all' link to the right of it. Click on that and you should then see a list of your purchases.

Bought itunes gift cards on black friday...went to redeem them, got code 5301, not activated properly on all the cards. But have all the activation receipts. Waited 24 hours just like the store and receipt said. Till this day still not activated. E-mailed itunes support twice. Responses taking forever to get. Even gave them scans of cards and receipts. Anyone else having or had any luck with this?

Just locate the itunes folder on your laptop, then locate media files then music and just click and drag to move the music from the laptop to the S5. Just be sure to move the music to the music folder on your phone and you're good to go. You don't even have to change the file format when you're moving the music over because Galaxy supports the iTunes media files.
