My Itunes has gone Japanese

Recently, for some unknown reason, my Istore has switched to Itunes Japan. I have no idea why. After this happened, I downloaded the new version of i-tunes hoping that it would correct this problem but it didn't. I have no idea what the exchange rate is for yen so I'd like to get this resolved and continue with my purchases. thanks.

  • Windows installed updates and now itunes has gone!

last night windows installed updates as it shut down and now when ive loaded up in the morning itunes has gone. ive tried repairing through add/remove programs, downloading a new version and removing the old version but each time it comes up with this message:
the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unvailable. click ok to try again or enter an alternative path to the folder containing installation package 'itunes.msi'.
does anyone know where to find this or an alternative way of sorting it out?
    cheers.

    Hi
    First sorry to hear that.
Not all is lost. This is what you do.
    1) Goto itunes.com. Install iTunes. Open it. Sign in to itunes so it displays your email address in itunes.
After goto your itunes store in itunes. There is a purchased tab. Click on in. It should list everything you purchased, books, songs, apps. Press the cloud with the down arrow. That will start the download process to your computer. I know the movie part you must download one at a time or it will crash. I hope that helps.

    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • My iTunes has gone transparent - how can I fix it?

My iTunes has gone transparent - how can I fix it?
When I load up iTunes I can see all of words but no background, its impossible to use! Please help.

Glad to hear you got things working again, Claire.
I had an IT friend of mine come over and it turns out it was the firewall, it wouldn't let iTunes have access to certain things so he granted it permission and it was instantly fixed.
Thank you kindly for reporting back about your resolution. Apologies for the nosy question, but which make of firewall are you using? (Although I've seen firewall permissions implicated in other iTunes problems, I hadn't seen one associated with a "transparent" iTunes before ... so I was thinking it might be worth checking on the possibility with other folks reporting a transparent iTunes where the DirectX and/or video drivers don't seem to be involved.)

  • ITunes has gone to full screen and I can't get out of it?

ITunes has gone to full screen.  How do I get out of it and back to the regular screen?

Look in the upper right corner of your screen.  Send the cursor there.  Find a diagonal, double-headed arrow and click it.

  • Everything in iTunes has gone!!

I remember that once I restarted my computer and opened iTunes regularly, and I found my play list is blank which means everything has gone. its like I reinstalled the program. However I didn't. what I did was add my 3000 songs again.... and I also cannot load my library.
I'm just wondering what the problem was, and I'm afraid that could happen again on me.

These question marks are on your dock? And you can't open applications from your dock?
If so, try this: Open a new finder window and navigate to the Applications folder in your hard disk. The applications in question should still be in there (the Applications folder). So drag each of the application icons that you want to be available on your dock from the Applications folder onto your dock, one by one. Take each of your question mark icons that are on the dock and drag them off the dock to get rid of them. See if that fixes you up.
Now, if your hard disk no longer has an Applications folder in it, or the Applications folder is empty, you are going to have to reinstall OS 10.6 then do a software update to bring you back up to OS 10.6.8. You may be able to just go to the "optional installs" folder on the installer DVD and maybe all the stock applications are there -- I don't remember and I don't have an installer DVD handy to look. That would be way easier than doing a full blown OS reinstall. Also, as I recall, if OS 10.6 was on the computer when you bought it from the store, I think there should be an "extras" DVD that has a handful of applications that could be reinstalled from it, too.

  • My music on iTunes has gone completely wrong. Could anyone please help me?

Hello everyone. I'll try and keep this as unconvoluted as possible so here goes...
I have iTunes 10.4.1.10, although the problem started with the previous update. I was trying to sync music from a Top rated playlist to a new iPhone (a 3GS with up-to-date-software) when I noticed that some of the albums which I had previously has on had disappeared. All of  my albums are saved onto an external hard drive, but the album icons were not on the music library. I put the albums back on (and a few new ones) and a message came up saying that the albums/songs were already there and would I like to replace them; I clicked the 'yes' button. I went about giving the songs I wanted in my Top Rated with no problems and went to sync them as normal. This is where it goes wrong.
iTunes goes through the syncing motions (Steps 1 and 2), reaches Step 3 where it syncs the songs, syncs about 40 of the songs (there are 770 in total) before reaching one of the songs which I had found missing and had put on again. iTunes crashes ( I think that describes it: the 'syncing bar' at the top stays frozen on the song, it will not shut down but everntually stops trying to syns and I can shut it down again; and when I look at the iPod on my iPhone it says cancelling sync and then that it is updating the library before going back to normal).
This was done on the first attempts, now when I try it syncs one songs before the problem song before going wrong. A thing to note about the song before is that the song that ends up on my ipod isn't the one it said that it was syncing, and the songs do not appear to be added in any sort of order.
After this I get a message that the song that caused this cannot be found: 'Attempting to copy to the disk "Charlie's iPhone" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69).' Sometimes this is followed by a similar message which says that the song in question cannot be found.
When I put my hard drive into the computer it says that there may be a problem with some of the files on the hard drive and would I like to scan and fix them, but it does not specify whether those files are music files (there are photo files, Word files, all sorts on it). I haven't given it permission to do so yet, this has not caused problems with previous i-Pods -Phones or Tunes and I don't exactly see how this would affect it now anyway seeing as the files have been re-done (burned off of iTunes and stored on the hard drive directly), but this may help work out the problem.
A few last things. There is are albums which I definately have NOT put onto iTunes or my hard drive which has appeared on my iTunes music selection and I highly doubt are in the house (Bob Acri's self-titled album containing just song 3 and Fine Music, Vol. 1 by Richard Stoltzman containing the second song), they may have been added onto the computer by another family member and just innocently found their way on iTunes and my hard drive, but they're not the sort of thing anyone in my family would listen to, so maybe that might help someone diagnose the problem too.
Also, the same thing is happening with my laptop, which has the previous update to the one I mentioned above. This would suggets that its either the new updates fault or the hard drive's fault, I would suspect it would be the former as the laptop too did not have any issues like this, or indeed at all, before the two updates.
Anyway, thank you for taking the time for reading through, and if anyone could offer any hints or tip or advice to get iTunes back to speed I would be very grateful.
    Thank you!

Having a similar issue.  Everytime i restart itunes its like its the first time its run and wants to look for music.   Yes, please help!

  • ITunes has gone apesh*t! Please help! (can't locate files)

    Good day!
I recently installed iTunes 7 (a few weeks ago, I guess.) For the most part, it has been working fine. But tonight, when I opened iTunes, it asked questions as if it had just been installed for the first time.
Now, all my music is stored on an external hard drive (J: Drive), and it defaulted that it was in my "My Music" folder in "My Documents", so I fixed that, and that didn't solve my problem: It can't locate any of my songs. (Here's the weird part, it can play the handful of MPEG files I have, but not the 99% AAC files. Both types are on the external hard drive). It lists them, but can't locate them, and i don't want to tell it the exact location of almost 5000 songs.
I tweaked a bit with my "iTunes Library" music database file, but that didn't help. Does the XML file ("iTunes Music Library") have any purpose?
    Help me out!

    I'm having the same problem.
iTunes lost about 100+ of my songs. I can manually go through and fix them but I'd rather not go through each one and track it down. I can see what's wrong in the library xml file but fixing them there doesn't do anything.
I tried recreating my library files and iTunes completely lost the songs along with several podcasts and all my playlists. Thankfully I'd backed up the library files before trying this, so I'm back where I started.
The date sounds about right, was that when the update before 7.5 came out? I also noticed that iTunes had reset my library location around that time(caught it and fixed it though).

  • Itunes has gone weird.

I updated to the latest version of itunes and since then I have a problem with sound on playback. I can play music tracks with no problem at all. The problem is with music videos and tv programs. The sound  has a warbling effect, sounds garbled and is out of sync big time.
Everything was perfectly okay before I updated, but now I am mystified. Any ideas?
Windows media player and media monkey play music without any problems.

What country are you in (music can't be redownloaded in all countries), you haven't changed countries since buying it, it's still in the store (rights-holder occasionally remove their items) and it's not hidden : iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases ?

  • My itunes has gone to ****

First, I couldnt move music from my files to Itunes, without Itunes crashing. (a problem has caused itunes to stop working, blah blah blah)  Then it got worse, because I could no longer buy songs without Itunes crashing.
Now, all of my music, has the explimation point next to it, and wont play. Whenever I try to locate the song, guess what? Itunes crashes.
But I don't expect an answer. Typical answers "virus, reinstall, and sorry, can't help."
just thought you should all know, Itunes is trash.

iTunes works well for most of its users. Reinstalling an application that crashes is a typical line of attack. Also if an application crashes during file operations then it is worth considering whether there could be an active virus on the system. Or your anti-virus could be holding up file operations, in which case excluding the iTunes folder from on demand scanning could be a useful tweak. I'd also be tempted to investigate the health of the hard drive itself. Have you looked for the missing media yet? Windows Media Player might have "helpfully" reorganised it for you. Will it play in Windows Media Player or Media Monkey? Have you backed up your media?
Nobody can give you "an answer" because as yet you haven't clearly specified the problem, or what steps you've already tried. You've also given the impression that you're more interested in moaning than in getting a resolution. Not the best way to initiate a constuctive dialog...

  • ITunes has gone FUBAR

    Here's my odyssey:
I download iTunes 7.3, big mistake. It proceeds to tell me that something is wrong (something along the lines of it can't save the library (-50) or something like that). So I uninstall and reinstall, this fails to solve the problem. I try to figure it out how to solve this and then give up.
After that I uninstall iTunes and then re-downloaded iTunes 7.2 off of filehippo. This worked until yesterday. Now I get somekind of Runtime error. So I completely uninstall iTunes, again, and re-download it, again, the error pops up as soon as I open iTunes, again. What. The. ****.
here's the details of the error:
    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe
This program has requested that Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.
So, if someone could solve this puzzle I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

I would completely remove iTunes and Quicktime using the method here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698
Then download and install the latest version of iTunes.
The problem people have been having saving the library seems to be associated with podcasts. The following post gives a method for solving it that has worked for several people.

  • ITunes has gone from bad to worse

iTunes 8 is garbage, should have never been released. Genius is worthless, shows me what I already have instead of recommending other stuff to me like it claims. Mini-store is gone and I use that. So I trashed v8 and put v7 back on.
Now it won't read my iPod and all my purchased songs have vanished. My purchsae history is correct, but nothing in the purchased songs section.
This is why I hate Apple products, garbage, worthless, and a waste of time.
Are there any other programs that will sync with an iPod? And how can my iPod be read by iTunes?

The issue(s) have been resolved. While it appeared to be all one 1 issue,
it was actually several different ones, and if this helps anyone else... so be it.
    My scenario:
A book borrowed from the library was made available on my work pc via ADE... if I just waited til I got home... :-(
I wanted the book to be on my nookColor, and was attempting to get it there via my home computer,
So first I wanted to share the book across PCs and then to my nookColor.  So the issues I had:
    nookColor registration via home computer
resolved after numerous attempts following ealier suggestions... (directory removal, disconnect, start ADE, reconnect)
something to note (make sure ADE is not active when removing directory folders from nook, otherwise they seem to stay)
getting second pc to receive/have access to borrowed book
instructions indicate that copying the pdf of epub would be sufficient, actually needed to copy ascm file
(again, computers were networked, so having ADE active on one seemed to impact the other)
I was able to get all devices registered with the same adobe ID,  I copied the ascm file from work machine to home,
opened the ascm file on home machine (network disconnected), connected nookColor, then transfered the book's
library location... viola!  been reading and liking the nook since.
